I remember this scene vividly. The guys burning to their own death and the next door neighbour trying to get some sleep despite the horribly loud music.
People say I'm paranoid because if I go somewhere (mainly overnight) I always check to see if/where (and working) the smoke alarms are and where the fire exit is. Still if it means peace of mind then I don't really mind what people think about me.
Ive got ocd obsessive compulsive disorder yes i get paranoid to you cant be to careful i turn of things not in use at my parents house and unplug them anything that is electrically
Because of health and safety reasons its to much of a nanny state now. Has i kid i was told not to talk to strangers not to put things in my mouth i didnt know. there was a tv advert on in mid 1980s telling you not to put drain cleaner in cola bottles not to go near ponds rivers fires. I cant remember the name of the advert or who was in it but it was really good. You dont get things like this on tv now. I remember watching londons burning in 1988 i loved it and the programme with michael Burke callled 999 amazing. It was so good and entertaining to watch.
Can you imagine having to live near or at the same bedsit or rooms to two junkies especially with a new born baby poor woman and her baby and all the others who lost their homes because of these two pair of junkies they shouldnt be allowed to live there in the first place thank god they both died no loss to their neighbours I got no sympathy with junkies like that horrible people
I've always wanted know what those songs are called in this scene. I've never been able to find them. I wish somebody would post the whole episodes up again, not just bad quality clips.
@@danielr02 I tried using Shazam to identify the songs, but it returned 'No matches found'. I am guessing the songs were specially created for this episode and were not chart hits.
I seem to remember the Songs in the original TV version of the episode when it was on ITV were different compared to this upload (I’m presuming this is the DVD version) - I can only think they switched the Music because they couldn’t get clearance due to copyright! It was a shame because the music as I remember it was great but it was probably specially made for the show like these were - A prime example is the music the band are playing when shooting their music video in the shout that John Hallam died in - Even though the audio quality was good Shazam didn’t pick that up even though the music wasn’t changed at all. Sorry I can’t help at all!
Can any one remember the very first episode of londons burning. Im just curious i cant remember i was only about 7 or 8 at the time if any one can remember i will be really grateful if someone could tell me. Thank you

@@danielr02 You never know. You may be lucky. But I do stand by my comment that the songs were specifically written for the show. I am guessing that ITV have hired an 'unmentioned' band (could be Blur or Oasis or the Manic Street Preachers for all I know) to construct a song specifically for this episode.

Nothing paranoid about that, just good sense
That used to drive me mad just getting into the action then the closing music and credits rolled ahhhh
The song played in the background is 6ft Under bt Steve Vaus
mate of mine once tried to drink and smoke before bed, was only after the rug caught fire he listend to my advice not to!
That's why you should never fall asleep with a lit cigarette; because it could cause a fire!
Sam Bee that was a roll up cigarette which would put itself out because there’s no salt peter in it.
I am guessing they both fell asleep from drinking all that vodka.
Never smoke while tired!
The fire men are very brave.
Firefighter since this is when (1st sally) was in
Many of these story lines would never be done these days. This series knew how to get peoples attention.
elizabeth trudgill The were first filmed back in the late 80’s when things were quite same.
This episode is from 1995

After 1:27 youd think the smoke and fire would make that man waken up

Thanks. I'm going to try asking ITV. A bit of a long shot but I could be surprised.

I've sent them an email, will let you know if they say anything.
Why did none have smoke alarms?
If memory serves me it was a dodgy landlord who they pursued in later episodes
elizabeth trudgill any UK building has to have smoke alarms wired into the mains
James Southam way back in the 80’s & 90’s we didn’t have them.
GothicaBeauty. Were you poor, they did exist?
James Southam how are old are you?
1.57- i would love to see that happen to my disgustingly vile alcy ex
People like that deserve to get what's coming to them
