As a retired firefighter who served first on a very busy London station Then in a county brigade, I have experience of both types of fire services. I always have to laugh when they call them lightweight pumps. They are bloody heavy. A car engine with a pump attached within a frame. Hardly lightweight. Bloody hard work carrying one of them across a field.
i retired as a StnO, i was described as a dinosaur by some of watch and in oprtional reviews , biggest compliment ever,
It's a shame that the Christmas special didn't become a repeat occasion for London's Burning. Always enjoy watching this with a few beers at Christmas 😁 shame they didn't make any more specials

They knew Colin wasn’t going to make a full recovery.
I hated the way the watch treated Colin. I thought it was a real weakness in the script that they just persistently bullied him and mocked him. Who could have stood such treatment? The pranks they played on him were so exhausting and long-winded for such a little reward. Malcolm at least showed some compassion towards him from time to time. The rest of them just looked like a bunch of idiots, a load of grown men picking on a young lad for years.

Bulstrode had alot of time for Tate and Nick. Gareth Thomas is sadly no longer with us, absolutely brilliant actor.

Bulstrode, Gareth Thomas. He was in police procedurals Parkin's Patch and Sutherland's Law. Bulstrode's temper is 100% Iain Cuthbertson, who played the Procurator Fiscal.

Those Dennis fire engines was the best in the service. And ive spent many years inside one before Leyland and Volvo took over the service. Ive got a lot of great memories over the years I served

@@simonmaverick9201 I wasn't a lover of the Volvo mainly because not much room to change when going on a shout. For me the Dennis rs fire engine will 've the best because that's the one I spent more time in before promotions came along.
