As you can see I tried to speed up the stage by tweaking some of the level design, adding fire shields & adding some new parts.
There are only a few small things left for act 1, but I want to spend more time working on act 2. I may also release some smaller mods before I release this.

I noticed it. And this is a jump sound that should be used more often as it fits the cartoony style of Sonic the Hedgehog.
The OG sound effect is great as well, but this one gets thrown into obscurity. Even the CD jump sound effect is let in the dark.
I really appreciate and enjoy all this. Can't wait to see your ideas for Act 2.
I hope that act 2 is night theme and that stage will have a boss fight from sonic megamix , from Dark Fortress zone .
I don't think that boss thing is going to happen, sadly.
The boss you're seeing in the video is about the best you're gonna get for custom bosses.
At least for now... Just gotta hope the modders can figure out the coding for bosses

It’s amazing how much more Marble Zone becomes tolerable once you have the fire shield.
Makes it way too easy. Classic Sonic games are easy enough as it is. A lot of people are lazy now and gawd forbid any challenge in games happen anymore.

@@therealestcupheadonythe's true, most of the obstacles in marble zone is lava, there's a pretty small amount of traps/somewhat dangerous badniks that can destroy your shield really.

I love the level design and those new secret passages accessible by breaking through walls. And that spring that smashes you through the roof

Looks great! Maybe change how many fire shields are available? I saw you completely skipped the lava parts of the level that were known for their difficultly in the OG Sonic. At the boss, maybe have the middle moving block raised a little higher? It would encourage players to use the block to hit Eggman, while also having the risk of the lava to hit them as well.
In the end, this is your mod, so you choose how it goes.
I wanted to make the difficult parts optional so the level is a bit faster.
And yeah, I'll raise the block a bit

I wouldn't say it's the best sonic 1 zone, but it is hated on too much in my opinion.

This is the best stage mod i have ever seen! just like star light, the layouts seem to trick me into thinking it is an actual zone in the game! Good job! One thing I would suggest you do is to touch up the flying robot bats, when they perch they turn into caterkillers. You could also add in some layouts from the sonic 1 2013 mobile remake (if you notice them), and touch up the background too so it looks HD like they did with green hill, flying battery, etc. (the flames arnet moving) And finally, you could try to refrain from putting to many flame barrier monitors (every few metres of the stage lies a flame barrier monitor and not anything else like 1ups but they could be hidden), so getting it feels like a reward.
But hey, its not my mod; these are just suggestions. You dont have to take my opinions for it. Just keep doing what youre doing. I cant wait to play it! Keep up the good work, Bones Burger ! (And thank you for sharing your talents with the world!)

In the sonic 1 prototype there used to be marbles in the sky that had green rings rotating while the marble was in the middle of the ring it was not used in the final game version

Bones Burger 2:04 i noticed that path too. im guessing that not just a monitor like in the original game, that is an alternative path that knuckles can take and it just happens to lead there
is it me or does the sound in this video seem highly bass boosted to the point were i have to turn down volume on my speakers to stop the sound waves coming from my sub woofer vibrating through the floor and walls.
(yeah, i know the wording of this comment may not make any sense but you should know what i mean)

Just one act? That's it! I would make an act two. Here are some of my ideas, 1. Lava surfing. 2. Rising lava (like sonic 2) 3. Underlava areas (yeah that's right, if you have a fire shield you can enter page as if you were underwater, you will still drown however.)

In my opinion, you should use the original Marble Zone music for Act 1 and then use Tee Lopes’ rendition of Marble Zone for Act 2.
Why the volume sound is too low?

Now this mod looks fine enough but the cool thing about mania's stages is that all of the old ones had something new like new set pieces and new level design. From what i see this is just marble zone act 1 2 and 3 put together, green hill did that too but it also added parts of the level that weren't in the original. Im not trying to hate because alot of effort clearly went into this but im just expressing my concerns

You should add other shields to make it seem more extensive and fluent also you can add some level design from the sonic 1 2013 mobile remake if you notice there is different layout in level design and what zone is this a mod of most of the objects seem a little polished like in mania

Try to make a remixed act 2. With a different music, background and gimmicks. Not just music. The Star Light mod didn't look like a mania or S3K stage. It just looked like a S1/S2/SCD/8-bit stage. I know Marble and Star light are from Sonic 1 but just compare with Sonic Mania's Green Hill zone. Great mods btw.

This is a great mod but I feel like it's a missed opportunity to not include the UFOs from the Sonic 1 beta/alpha
