man, mk11 really messed it up when it comes to the stuff mkx set up. It would have been one hell of a way to have raiden face his own demons but nah, there had to be another convenient excuse to delete him

As much as the scene where raiden has the multi-timeline flashback was cool, regular raiden facing his dark counterpart would have been a great way to finish his plotline before the finale of the story.

Ask me when he delivered Shinnoks head as a warning wasnt exactly evil. He was more tired of invasion after invasion into earth realm. One can only play on defensive so long before its time to show brute force.

Once onaga had enter the hallway shang sung was resurrected after having his neck broke and then raiden came back next. Otherwise when raiden died his essence would have reformed in earthrealm instead of being brought back in Outworld. Onaga had the power to resurrect people.

My boys Taven and Shujinko were done real dirty Shujinko wanted to be a Kontestant to fight Shang Tsung and was used by Onaga, and Taven awoke to find his whole family murdered and confused about his entire quest to fight blaze, both pretty good characters who needed a better outcome of their stories

Backstabbing is in his very nature, and Dark Raiden was supposed to be killing people who were a threat to Earthrealm, but he doesn't think to go after Shao Kahn who is THE biggest threat?

In this world Shao Kahn is way more smarter and deadlier not in this shitty timeline. He knew he turn back on him, just like Raiden knows the same. But they have to work together at least to the end or nobody can finish Blaze by its own.
It's either Dagon or Taven- MK9 showed us Shao Kahn literally stole the kill from Taven. (I still call it bullshit tbh) On that point it's already over whoever wins will decide fate of the worlds and they know that at start.

A thing I have noticed, not only with MK, but as a whole:
Music in older titles used to sound more urgent, more menacing, while in newer games the music is almost always more epic, calmer.
I prefer the former.

Almost every game now has some oversophisticated storyline with a lot of twists.
I agree that now most games want to be an artsy epic movie, while back then they prefered a decent yet simple plot and faster paced gameplay.

Yeah, we *STILL* should have gotten him kept in the story mode throughout the rest of the game because how interesting it would have been with 2 Raiden's at conflict with the time merger situation but I guess that was too much for the writers lack of creativity. He was definitely a wasted character!

"Evil Raiden" is a fairly common misconception. He's not or was ever "Evil", he was just "corrupted" which besides making him a bad ass, also unfortunately made him tunnel visioned, switching from being patient and comprehensive to full on attack mode with no mercy for those who defy and threaten earthrealm, also making him pretty careless in alot of aspects. He was never evil tho or switched to the evil side.

See before Kung Lao made Shang Tsung & Quan-Chi look like fodder in MK9 & Quan-Chi himself get utterly humiliated in MKX... Seeing a nerfed Raiden taking on (and nearly defeating) a *maxed* Quan-Chi wielding Shinnoks Amulet and a BOOSTED Shang Tsung with a Soulnado going on in the background honestly made Raiden one of my favorite characters in all of MK. Then having them all shortly join forces to take on a resurrected Onaga who supposed to be even stronger than Shao Kahn in his prime?! This shit was absolute *FIRE* to see back in the day!
Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong as much as I like the newer game graphics for storyboards the power scaling in the reboot timeline is completely discombobulated & makes no sense. Back in these days you actually *felt* the danger than the newer threats now cuz it just seems like they just slapped 'em on paper at the last minute for the sake of having a new baddy on screen without any proper buildup, people like Kronika will never compare to a Onaga. IMO

I never played deception but it is my favorite MK story game by far, Shujinko was a true master and a great character. The sons of argus are great as well

What Raiden was now doing is no different than what many nations have done through the centuries. Identify a legitimate threat who has a high probability of engaging in a attack on your land and eliminate/neutralize them.

It's funny, I remember the days of playing MK Deception and Armaggedon on PS2, but since the timeline of Mortal Kombat has been shifted due to Raiden's visions on MK9.
I do have questions about the old characters that we haven't seen in the newer games, apart from the ones we saw like for example Bo Rai Cho and Tanya DLC etc.
We accrued a number of largely forgettable characters over such a long period; resetting the timeline goes a long way to cleaning up and dropping a few of those characters off.

Three scenes are missing:
1) Raiden electrocutes Shinnok somewhere, and after some rounds Kronika comes to her son.
2) Raiden fights army of Underworld alone and Time merger begins.
3) Raiden at service of Shang Tsung.
I am quite genuinely surprised Dark Raiden didn't go after the Elder Gods since they're more than responsible for doing nothing about protecting Earthrealm.
Dark Raiden's approach was preemptive action against immediate threats. SInce Elder Gods are only good for consulting and even then barely, they'd be off his radar for a looong time.
@@accelriderx2931 The Elder Gods role is to guide and bless the realms in Mortal Kombat. They give also advice to those people who are worthy of their call. But they aren't allowed to intervene in any Mortal Doings it is because that is not their principle. One of the reason why Shinnok was Evicted because he somehow made an alliance ( not sure ) with Quan Chi secretly.

Do you remember when Raiden tried to make an alliance with Quan Chi in MK9? Technically, he wasn't Dark Raiden at the time. But he revealed some disturbing tendencies. In my opinion, Raiden is an idealist with obvious fanatical tendencies. ⚡⚡⚡
