    Chicken Steak with White Sauce and Sautéed Vegetables
    Ingredients:
    For the Chicken Steak:
    2 boneless chicken breasts
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon paprika
    2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
    For the White Sauce:
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 cups milk
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
    For the Sautéed Vegetables:
    1 onion, sliced
    2 carrots, sliced
    2 tomatoes, chopped
    2 potatoes, sliced (optional)
    1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or mixed herbs (optional)
    Instructions:
    Preparing the Chicken Steak:
    Season the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Make sure both sides are evenly coated.
    Cook the Chicken: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
    Preparing the White Sauce:
    Make the Roux: In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture turns golden and bubbly.
    Add Milk: Gradually add the milk, continuing to whisk to prevent lumps. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
    Season: Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) to taste. Stir in the Parmesan cheese if desired, and mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat.
    Sautéing the Vegetables:
    Prepare Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and carrots. Sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add Remaining Vegetables: Add the chopped tomatoes and sliced potatoes (if using). Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Cook for another 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and lightly browned.
    Serving:
    Plate the Chicken: Place the cooked chicken steaks on a plate.
    Add the Sauce: Pour the white sauce over the chicken steaks.
    Serve with Vegetables: Arrange the sautéed vegetables around the chicken and serve hot.
