  • I was finally able to take my parents backpacking on the Superior Hiking Trail. We did the segment from Lutsen to Cascade and got exceptionally lucky in all things, weather, mud, bugs, and temperature, all worked out well. Very impressed they picked up backpacking so easily and so well, for being 60+ they haven't slowed down at all!
Shot on a Sony A7iii with a Tamron 28-200mm lens in a custom HLG3 based picture profile. Also shot on a GoPro Hero 6 with Protune on, stabilized with Reelsteady GO. Edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve 17, the opening title was made from scratch in the Fusion page of Resolve, following a very helpful tutorial by Jamie Fenn and inspired by Benn TK. It's something I've wanted to try for a while and this video seemed like a good opportunity.
If you're curious, I have reviews of two of the backpacks used in this video (the Granite Gear Crown 2, and the Gossamer Gear G4-20) as well as the tent my parents used (the Durston XMid 2p). I don't think it's necessary to review the Exos since it's such a popular pack, and although I'd love to review my hammocking set-up, it's a rather custom build pieced together over the years, so I'm not sure I'll be doing that anytime soon.
