    • @jenniferprice9971
      @jenniferprice9971 Pƙed 3 lety +5

      @@ellierosewood1341 I believe it is their choice. Could it be interrupted that spilling of blood is wrong so that includes animals yes but the rules around food also go in detail on what type of meat is acceptable so I don’t believe banning meat was the goal of that as long as the blood is drained from the animal and then cooked completely. Also Daniel when he and his friends were kidnapped and taken to Babylon they ended up choosing a vegetarian diet over what was served in the palace as they still wanted to follow the rules around food even in a foreign place so people could choose to follow his example as they ended up being the healthiest and fittest of the young men at the palace at the time.
      Granted I was not raised Jewish this is how I understand it from my own research and study of that part of the Bible and interaction with different people of the Jewish faith so others might see it differently just based on being raised Jewish.

      @@jenniferprice9971 Thanks for the explanation.
      I am not Jweish or Christian to know much and I don't know many valid sources to research the religion myself but I was shocked to hear this from them at first. I told them the story of Abraham wanting to sacrifice his son for the will of god but then god telling him it was all a test and he can sacrifice a sheep and give the meat to the poor, but still insisted that it was god's direct order and it has nothing to do with how humans eat.
      I can't judge them but with people at times going a little too deep in religion, things can get very confusing.

      My main source is the Bible itself as that is where everyone is going to reference when it comes to clean and unclean food. If you are looking for scientific or cultural reasons for some of the laws as there are some then that requires different sources. One thing to remember with most religions is that the rules are designed to help set those groups of people apart as different.

Conventional pigs are treated terribly, and stuffed with antibiotics but even as low quality as they are it is a lot safer than it was 4,000 or even 2,000 years ago when we didn’t understand how diseases spread and let them eat whatever was lying around.

      @@anikahoobaab7800 Technically, the second coming of Christ is supposed to cleanse the Earth. That doesn't mean all living things will be destroyed and "clean" versions will be made. This simply means Christ will take what is our world, as it is, and cleanse it. From there he will make a new world upon which his followers may reside. There's not much information on this new world otherwise though. Anyway, the pig itself does not need to be altered in order for it to become edible in Christianity. Saying there's no "cleansing" is a bit of falsification. Considering when you are ill you take medicine in order to recover. Is the illness not harmful and are medications not "cleansing?" This is the same concept only Christ didn't use a pill he used his entire body.

    Hi Ninja Mommy, you are correct about the consumption of pork being prohibited in Christianity. I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist church and all of our teachings come directly from the Christian bible. We do not eat pork, shrimp, consume alcohol as well as many other things. We also do not consume food containing gelatin and for some people even caffeine. There is a lot of emphasis in health in the Christian bible. However, most people ignore this. Most SDA Christians I know are either vegetarian or vegan.
