I might not make Sad Godzilla a meme, but Disturbed Rodan would sell like hotcakes!
It's probably a sequel to Godzilla vs Destroyah, since at the end of the film Jr. became an adult. Because Jr. is very docile and kind towards humans (which would explain why he would want to be friends with everyone and everything)
But that's just my theory.

I’m glad that even in an obscure children’s book, they maintain Anguirus’ character.
Godzilla cries in the movies too. During his meeting with Shindo in "vs. King Ghidorah", you can see a little bit of moisture under Godzilla's eye. It doesn't work that well, but Kawakita said they had a hell of a time getting Godzilla to cry in that sequence. It's done far more visually better in "Godzilla vs. Destroyer" where you see an actual tear drip from his head.
Godzilla's characterization is not that far off from that of the Showa and Heisei series. Everybody judges Godzilla by the 1954 Godzilla. That guy was a violent, furious dickbag. The second Godzilla in both the Showa and Heisei films was far less interested in destruction (look at Godzilla in 1984... he's just wandering around curiously, not really actively annihilating Tokyo).
In "Ghidrah, the Three Headed Monster", Godzilla says that mankind is always bullying him. And, if you pay attention... he's got a point. When this Godzilla first appears in "Godzilla Raids Again", he does come ashore in Osaka and is greeted with a military attack. Angilas followed and after the battle is over, Godzilla doesn't hang around. He jumps back into the sea and gets out of there. He wanders up north where he's just minding his own business and gets buried in an avalanche for his trouble.
In "King Kong vs. Godzilla", once he emerges from the ice, he's attacked while still out at sea by the Americans/Russians/whoever. That brings him ashore where he destroys the air base in a fit of rage. Once he comes ashore in Hokkaido, he stays out in the countryside minding his own business and is continually harassed by the military. He does eventually wander toward Tokyo, perhaps looking to beat on Kong some more. The million volts is enough to turn this Godzilla away (the first was made to bounce back by the electricity as well, but because he was so angry, he took to tearing down the towers and then melting them with his ray). He wanders off to Mt. Fuji... where nobody lives, and then has Kong dumped on top of him, which starts a battle that takes them down the side of Fuji, over to Atami, and into the sea.
When Godzilla revives in "Godzilla vs. Mothra '64", the destruction is caused by Godzilla's clumsiness, not ill will. As he wanders through the oil refinery, his tail whacks into something behind him, which startles him into firing his ray. Once he makes his way into Nagoya, pay attention... he's merely walking down the street through the city. He isn't actively destroying it. His tail gets caught in Nagoya Tower when he's trying to decide which way to go and he pulls the tower over trying to dislodge it. As Godzilla passes Nagoya Castle, he slips and falls headfirst into it. In a fit of rage, he yanks it over. After that, Godzilla heads out toward the sea... where he is met by the Americans and their souped-up Frontier Missiles. Their attack causes Godzilla to head BACK into mainland Japan, where he stays out in the countryside and is once more harassed by the military for the rest of the film. Don't let the Mosugoji's brows fool you-- he's not the villain everybody thinks he is in that movie.
Godzilla's temperance starts to change once he begins to get friends. First Rodan and Mothra. Then Minya. And later Angilas then more. In the Heisei series, Godzilla calms down considerably once Baby Godzilla appears on the scene. In fact, had mankind just left the egg on Adonoa Island instead of hauling it to Japan, he probably never would have surfaced there. Once he has the baby, he remains on Birth Island, only venturing back to Japan to whip Spacegodzilla's ass for imprisoning his boy.
So, it seems superficially odd in "Who's Afraid of Godzilla"... but it's not that off the mark.

Technically it’s not even the SAME Godzilla-the Godzilla in the 1954 film was reduced to bones by the oxygen destroyer. The Godzilla from Godzilla raids again onward was another dinosaur
Gaby George Wait? Didn’t the person who made it the oxygen destroyer not use it since the military might use it?(I never saw the 52 Godzilla film)
Sonic Xtreme99 in the 1954 movie, the inventor of the Oxygen destroyer burned his notes and stayed behind to activate it, killing himself in the process so that no one would ever try to replicate his work lest someone use it to make a weapon deadlier that the atomic bomb

I could be wrong, but I believe Di Kaiju is a pen name for Marc Cerasini. And I recall something to the effect of using the pseudonym to keep credibility with his young adult books (Godzilla Returns, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla At World's End, Godzilla vs. the Robot Monsters, and the currently unpublished Godzilla and the Lost Continent).

I remember camping with my family when I was a kid and my dad would read this book to me at night till I would fall asleep. I hope someday I can read this book to a child of my own.

the book who's afraid of Godzilla has a lot of sentimental value to me I have this book when I was 5 years old and I kept it for many years but unfortunately I lost a lot of things things and the book was one of them. I would love to find the story again mine did it damage the bed but I still enjoyed myself reading it every time. there's even a stop motion video of it on CZcams it's really great I hope you get to see it one day.

MonsterIslandBuddies I had a friend who collected that line of figures, I forget what they're called but I always loved the fact that he had a John Goodman figure.
I think that THESE are Godzilla’s motives and feelings in Shin Godzilla. He’s looking for someone/something, but the only reason he causes so much destruction is that he’s just so goddamn big.
