    Could you please take a moment to say a prayer for my husband Ron. Been subbed for nearly 7 yes. He's a big fan. He's a healthy man but out of nowhere he's in the hospital with blood clots in his lungs. I sure would appreciate it. And, no insurance... God bless you all!

    Quite a story. I read his autobiography, which he wrote later in life. He sounded depressed, and was very negative about acting. His life got more turbulent as the years piled up, which is exactly what one shouldn’t experience. He did care about the underdog, and marched in Civil Rights events in the early- mid 60’s. He was complex, which may have helped him craft his roles. It was amazing how much his wives looked alike. Thanks Jerry for your always skilled biographies, we all know how much work you put into these and it shows.

His life and his children reveal the horrors that occur after childhood abuse. Because of his parents Dag was killed, His daughter committed suicide, Christian never recovered, God knows how many children he had aborted. All the love fame and fortune in the world can never heal the broken soul of an abused child. Rest in peace Marlon Brando

    • @leoinsf
      @leoinsf Před 4 lety +26

      Rita wrote a book about her life and illustrates the total cruelty of Marlon Brando in her book.
      Marlon is an example of a beautiful man who lived a spoiled, pampered life because everyone melted when he came near.
      Yes, I do believe that he supported children and Wally Cox, but he could be very cruel to his sex partners: Maria (killed herself after being sexually manipulated by too many men at her young age starting with Marlon), Rita tried to commit suicide after her abortion and being dumped by Marlon, talk to his wives about his personal cruelty.
      He was a spoiled, pampered man who lived without limits. Nothing made him feel shame. He was an ego-driven man who had enormous energy and ambition and everyone else was
      a means to an end!!!

      michael vasquez He did take care of his children and that alone speaks realms about this man. I am surprised Jerry did not mention when Marlon said "the jews own Hollywood." Boy was he ever talked to badly bcs of this. Later on he had to apologize. Everyone has ups and downs in their life, tragedies included. No-one talks about the little man's issues but if you are a star everything is written about you. In today's world, which btw is going to seed. I am sure some of these actors are dismayed by what is turned out these days. An award show, the least you wear the better dressed you are. Nowadays everything is so plastic and we have to hear "oh I got a tiny cut on my finger" and this makes front page news!!!!!! I am pretty sure that even back in the day drugs were used and of course they slept around but it never made the news and why should it.

      Not that it matters, but Marlon' s statement was based in fact & imo, didn't come from a place of anti - semitism. (I can't speak on how other Jewish folks feel about it, just me, lol). Most of the large studio heads family's owned the movie houses eventually forming the studios & the studio heads ran Hollywood. (Most were immigrants/first generation Americans & it truly is a great American rags to riches tale - these men built dynasties).

      No, he didn't or couldn't properly take care of his children. Maybe financially, but there's more important things that a child needs. Like not to wake up to being introduced to a new sibling by your Dad's 4th wife or lover.
      Just the way his children behaved played a large part of his poor attention or total lack of attention. His son Christian & daughter Cheyenne both had deep emotional & mental concerns from a very young age.
      Note: the daughter committed suicide & the son was convicted
      of murder.
      Please, watch & listen to the video again & focus on their behaviors.
      Just as Marlon's bad/rebellious teenage/young adult behavior was mainly the result of HIS Dad's treatment; so Marlon passed that down to HIS own children.

    • @pauldavies5611
      @pauldavies5611 Před 3 lety +1

      @@jesusnameaboveallnames7369 Well, you can only blame one's parents so far. I'm getting the sense that you don't think Brando was that much at fault for how his children ended. Correct me if I'm wrong. But if we're just going to blame parents we might as well give a free pass to Charles Manson: the man had absolutely no cards dealt to him when he was born. I doubt very much you mean to imply that.

      Somehow it seems appropriate to suggest that you take your own advice.
      That said, although the ancient Greeks assigned the cause of tragedy, a special kind of suffering, to fate, and it was Brando's fate to have had the dual misfortunes of a toxic childhood and the later curse of early Hollywood success, his own personal choices cannot be easily dismissed as directly contributing to the pain and suffering of many, perhaps even most, of those closest to him.

In your particular case, babbling about the ancient Greeks, curses, Hollywood AND Marlon Brando...with a goal of convicting him as some criminal that “contributing to the pain and suffering of many” is all he accomplished as a human being, as James Dough does for “most people”, is rather unfortunate. It’s a shame his health declined the way it did , with all his wealth , he could have looked after himself and been in better shape . But that was before the fitness & health industry was so big as it is today. He certainly had and caused some heartache . As said already , sadly , a dysfunctional childhood can have devastating repercussions into the future generations. Yet it can also produce individuals with a resourceful emotional library for creativity .
    He did show generosity , concern and compassion in many situations as well . He did his best , no doubt . And gave much to the world . R.I.P Mr . Brando .

    Brando was no ordinary person! He had such a chaotic life. His early years were trauma laden. That had a lasting effect. I saw him in Apocalypse Now. I was stunned at his appearance and greatly moved by his acting. It seemed so real. That movie was a masterpiece! Regarding all his children, both biological and adopted, he tried to give them all the love and caring he had wanted as a child but didn’t get. He was a powerful man, but unfulfilled.

    WOW! I had no idea about so much of this. I also had to Google for myself how many kids this guy had/claims. It’s between 9 & 15. One site stats; “Given, three of his fifteen children were adopted, but the man still fathered 12 of them!”

    Very well made Mr. Jerry..........
    Private Investigator JJ Armes recovered quickly after he lost both hands in an explosion. , and went on to become a private investigator. He says he has rescued the kidnapped son of Marlon Brando,
    I met JJ many times here at the El Paso airport, as every time he came through the security check point and walked through my metal detector it required a full body pat down ,due to his metal hands. . :) I asked him once about the kidnapping rescue but he declined to talk about it.
    OK Thanks for this great story Mr. Jerry. Love what you do Sir.

    I thought Id be watching a doco of his life with a montage of footage of some of his works and then when I realised it was just pictures I really wasn't enthusiastic BUT...having seen one of Jerrys previous work, I thought I'd give it a go...AND I really enjoyed it...I think it has a lot to do with Jerrys voice that plays a big part in enjoying his work cause I wouldn't enjoy seeing a doco like this narrated by someone else...So Kudos Mr Skinner AND I will hit that subscribe button!

    Wow your documentaries are so good. Usually docs have film & lost of talking heads but u do a great job with pictures research & a nice soothing narration that's very engaging ! Great job! U would think bc marlon had such a troubled childhood he would have wanted a stable family unit. He got to 30 without all these children & wives. It's very nice that he adopted children & seems he loved his kids but it's not stable to go from woman to woman having kid after kid after kid plus of course with the kiddos tons of women to make them with. They say his mothers death made him not care anymore. Like a switch that flipped. She sounded like a woman so ahead of her time. She was a productive woman while in Nebraska sounded very cool & running a theater group in the 1920s even wearing pants & driving a car in that time was rare. Think how 30 years later in the 50s women were still not wearing pants driving or working. So in the 20s as a house wife she was something else.
    It sounds like the husband was awful & moved her away to chicago & she started drinking bc she missed her friends her life & the theater group. That is something she discovered henry Fonda.
    Like I said he meant well by the kids but could not see how unstable that was to never live fully with their mom & him. He would be in & out i guess except for Christian. Ur first child is special i suppose bc he had a long custody problem with the wife unless she was nutty . Maybe the other women he trusted. That's horrible in trying to kidnap christian its believed he was abused. Cheyenne maybe part of her mental illness was also a depression from her modeling career ending & I saw that she was the most coveted bachelorette on the island.
    I also think the directors spoiled him with that not learning lines crap. That is such a pain in the ass. He said oh bc it's more natural to search for the words. What's the difference if ur saying them from cue cards or u memorize them. I think it was laziness. Also he would demand to be payed per day in cash on movies he worked on after his 70s comeback. He holds the guiness book of world records for making the most money on so little time for superman. I'm guessing that is adjusted for inflation but it was still alot for today 3.4 million & 11% gross on the profits . Superman made 300 million world wide. So 33.4 million for a weeks work. Yea without inflation that still must be a record.
    Thanks again ! Did u do al pacino ? I'd love to see one on him, I think the next talented actor right after brando. Brando said in an interview al pacino he thought was the best actor around in the 70s.
    Too bad he didnt marry wally cox he said if he could have married him he would have been happily ever after. Marlon is known to be bisexual. If wally was too I think he wasnt kidding about that.
