Man.. this song was INESCAPABLE when it came out. Even stations that didn't play EDM put it in rotation. My roommate HATED this song. Fun memories of trolling him by turning up the volume every time it came on. 😈

Yeah I remember hearing this song ALL THE TIME in the early 2000's. It was everywhere. One of those songs that sticks with you your whole life and brings back memories.

being an Italian band, and being Italian myself, when this song was released it Italy in 1998 at the time , it was literally played every single millisecond on Italian radio to the point it felt unescapable (like how some big songs get very popular) and it got somewhat annoying, I was living between the UK & Italy at the time, so when I moved back to the UK, I though to myself “thank god I don’t have to hear that song again!”….and well you can guess how wrong I was about that! It blew up there too within a couple of weeks of moving back! But yes, I guess you can put this song in the guilty pleasure section!

In 1999, this song was EVERY WHERE. You couldn't have your radio on a pop station without hearing it at least once an hour.
The energy in lex is contagious. Got me dancing too. Such a bright, happy, love life spirit she is. She'd be amazing to go clubbing with back in the day.

The club mix that I used to dance to in nightclubs was a good one. Cars used to blare it driving around town too.
I was in highschool the first time I heard this song. Some student brought in an Eiffel 65 CD and the teacher let them play it on a stereo while we studied. I was immediately in love with this band.
This was one of my favorite songs when I was younger! And I sat there dancing just like Lex was, LOL! "Barbie Girl" is another one for sure! And they played it on the radio back then too!

Growing up in Scotland, I used to think they were singing “In Aberdeen I will die” (Aberdeen is city in Scotland) I never wanted to go there after hearing this song lol
I'm not an edm guy but this song is ideal wake up music at the time it seemed to be playing every time my radio alarm went off and always put a smile on my face and still does.
One of my themes to the millennium, along with Willennium by Will Smith! The song came out in late 1999, my god, I was 15 at the time. Now I feel old. I STILL have the single for this song... on CD! Eiffel 65 were an Italian band.

Born in early 91. I don't see how anyone didn't hear this. As I kid, the scat chorus sounded to me..."I'm blue if I was green I would die." And I'll continue thinking that.
I was in kindergarten when this song came out. I bought a cassette and recorded the song off the radio and the proceeded to listen to it like 20 times a day haha good memories.
First time I heard this one, I was a college boy. Six in the morning, tuned into the short-lived techno station we had, headed in to wrench on a W670 engine from a WWII tank. Spent the next week tuned in religiously hoping to hear it again.

Euros have to work so hard to penetrate the US market. They have to emulate our sounds and scenes, launch a new scene ("British Invasion", etc.), or make a noise that stands out (and works).

For a brief period, this song was EVERYWHERE. Roller rinks, venues, etc. Any place with large crowds. The same exact thing happened with the Mortal Kombat club song.

Lawdy! I took my son when he was 10 on a vacation through Tennessee to visit family❤️ We had a rental car and left this cd in the car when we turned it in.
