  • In this video we are taking a look at Apple vs Samsung to find out who has the best tech ecosystem. Both Samsung and Apple have respectable ecosystems. Apple continues to build on their product catalogue while also improving how each device works with their other devices creating a since of unity. Samsung has a massive product catalogue and has been working towards that same unity Apple offers. While Apple seemingly controls most of their own hardware and 100% of their software, Samsung leans on other software developers for their platforms such as Microsoft and Googe's Android. However, Smart Things is Samsung's bread and butter and works amazing. TizenOS is another software developed by Samsung that has shown huge improvements over the last few years and this year is looking even more promising with new devices and features on the horizon. Stay tuned for Samsung Galaxy z Fold 3 coverage, MacOS 12 tips and tricks, iOS 15 tips and tricks, and of course iPhone 13 coverage!

The Samsung/Google combination is more flexible for my usage, so I'll always go with them. I have a few Apple products, but I'll never fully invest in Apple's ecosystem. I feel like Apple's only goal is to lock you in, and I don't like feeling controlled after spending thousands to invest in products and software.

It is a good point you make here because could i have purchased the Apple watch and used it with my Note 20 ultra i would probably not have invested in an iphone 12 mini. In saying this i believe each products works best with their own family of devices to get the full working experience and ability of the App and Device together. EG My Buds Plus and Buds Live although they worked with my iphone 12 mini, it was deff not the best experience and vice versa when using my daughters Airpods Gen 1 with my Note 20 Ultra. Where as each pair of ear buds/Live's/Air Pods work amazingly with their own product. And not only ear buds, but every device. Perhaps i see this now owning both Eco Systems where as once i didn't. But i get what you mean. Cheers :-)

@@carmendewa2449 Yeah, I am aware of that. I have an iPhone, Apple watch and an iPad for the continuity, but I do not use most of Apples software. The software I use is primarily Google, for the simple fact that Google's software can be used with any device I use. iMessage and FaceTime are some of the only things I use when it comes to Apples ecosystem, outside of hardware.
I prefer Windows over Mac, Chromecast over Apple TV, and Googles smart home accessories are miles better than my experience with Apple's. Hardware is important, but it's nothing without software, and I just can't stomach Apples services lol.

What a spectacular video! I prefer the Samsung ecosystem. For various reasons, but one of which is value of the price. Samsung is very generous to me and gives me both the Student Discount and the First Responders discount, for my work and school. Apple wasn't willing to match it, not even by half. They have my respect with spectacular free customer service! I never feel that I'm getting ripped off, or am being pressured to buy the latest model of the product if something happens to it.

Thats not counting the connectivity I had with my 22Ultra that just puts the icing on the cake. I owned an iPhone4 once, bought the Nexus10(back in 2012) on a whim and have been using android, particularly Samsung, ever since. But it is about preference, I never used an apple product that didn't run flawlessly(iPhone, iPads or macbooks)and I never had a company with the customer support that apple had. After eleven years iPhone only, and twenty plus years all things Apple, then in 2020 I purchased a Samsung Note 20. Yes, a learning curve same as I had with my first iPhone, the 3GS. Using the Note 20 it provided considerably more productivity improvements than any iPhone I owned. Yes, the iPhone has a much going for it, however Samsung is considerably ahead of iPhone, as such I do not see any reason returning to Apple. Using Samsung Messages or Google Message I have not had any issues texting, sending files, and the like with Android and iOS users. Airdrop, Microsoft provides a similar product built into Windows 11, Phone Link. Samsung provides Link to Windows, thus not having iMessage there is nothing missed. From my computer I can send text messages to Android and iOS, however users of Mac OS and iPad OS cannot send text messages to non-Apple devices. After leaving the Apple walled garden it was a breath of fresh air, I do not feel locked down. Keep in mind the following: as of July 2021 Android holds 75%+ of the phone market, Apple has 28%. Windows holds 83% of the market, Apple Mac 7%, Chrome OS holds 10% of the market yes more than Mac OS.

The security threats are just as present in Apple if not more since Google. Most are unaware and have a false sense of security thinking Apple has tighter security when they send your data with no receipt system.
With open source you can trace security threats and address them yourself and have full control over your OS...even duplicate and mirror your OS without need of a PC or Laptop.

Ok Jonathan be prepared for a long answer here lol. Im a 50/50 user now, never thought id say this as i was a huge Samsung person and would not be caught with anything Apple. Then i got the Apple watch 6 and fell in love. Telling myself i would use my Daughters old iphone 6s to run my Apple Watch on to with in 4 weeks just having to buy an iphone 12 Mini and i simply cannot fault Apples eco system or their software. Apple Watch hands down to date kills any Galaxy or Android Watch and i dont care for Samsung moving to Wear OS as ive used them as well for my Oppo watch and not been a fan, even tho we may see huge improvements now that they have joined with Samsung ?? But that is yet to be seen ..... Apple Watch Just Works lol simple as that. Sooooo now im awaiting my Air Pods to arrive hahahaha i had my Galaxy Buds Plus connected to my iphone 12 mini and ahhh, yeahhhhh, naaaaaa lol now i have got a taste of Apple's eco system i want the whole kit n kaboodle to go with my Macbook Air lol. In saying this i LOVE my Note 20 Ultra, S Pen, the many ways you can custermmise your phone and i love my Tab S7 Plus allot, especially with DEX love it. Now for this i have you to thank Jonathan and my partner AINT Happy lol be expecting my bill to re coup my money or my partner's money spent of late hahahaha ;-) In all seriouness I love both have both Eco systems and use both daily and for that i feel priviledged . Ohhhhhh one thing that totally kills Samsung is Apple's keyboard omg i can type so damn fast and Apples keyboard just gets it and rarely mistype's what im typing, where as this has been a major major disappointment for me for years on end with Samsung no matter what i use Samsung, Gboard, Swift key, they are all bad imho. And some of the very bad messages ive actually sent with a Samsung Keyboard were very very bad, like did i say bad lol. How samsung cant fix a simple issue as this is beyond me. Customer Service: Apple is A+ when dealing with them where as this is another area Samsung should be ashamed of, never once have i brought a faulty device back to Samsung that i can say they went out of their way to help me or replace it..... never, they were rude as. Apple on the other hand nothing is an issue, an example my Daughter had her first iphone the original SE after 6 months her screen went black we booked an appt with Apple and within 2 hours she had a brand new SE in her hands no questions asked. Me on the other hand had to fight tooth and nail to explain that my first GW42mm had issues after owning it for less than 3 months and would not hold charge for longer than 6 hours, all things turned off :-( they gave me hell and i walked out feeling rather dejected. Thankfully as id owned it under 90 days the store where i had purchased it from allowed me to swap it for the GW 46mm. So CS Apple 10/10 Samsung 0/10 and i say this to this day. On the other hand Samsung's discounts and what not are very good in comparison to Apple's but hey lest face it, i will take the great customer service over the discounts knowing that Apple go out of their way for their Customers ;-) so sorry for my long reply lol its just as long as your Video hahaha. Thanks Again for a great Video. Cheers and stay safe my friend ;-)

I don’t understand, i also watch videos about android and nobody says anything about iOS , it seems like the android fans are just jealous about how good apple is.

Dude I jumped ship from samsung to apple because evey single person seemed to say it was a superior eco system... what a joke, now I've swapped my phone, tablet, buds and watch all to the equivalent apple version I can tell you it has nothing on samsung and I will be swapping back ASAP. Samsung just works, its doesn't need workarounds it just works. Don't buy into these reviewers who push the apple eco system. It's nonsense. I've learnt a very pricey lesson, don't do the same as me.

How can you say that did you really use the Apple ecosystem every thing feature in Samsung ecosystem is a copy of Apples ecosystem look at Samsungs nearby share its just a copy of Apples airdrop from 2011 also Apple has handoff Where I can pinch in on a device to copy an image and pinch out on another to paste the image this is something Samsung doesn’t have I get a new iPhone I just hold my old iPhone phone next to my new iPhone and every thing from my old iPhone is copied to my new phone like my pictures contacts Apps accounts passwords even my WiFi settings
your Mac iPhone iPad Apple Watch
And AirPods work all together in Apples ecosystem Samsung is just copying what Apple is doing for the last 10 years

Sloppy, not intuitive, they won't use different apps to share, lol. There's steps to continuity on any os, I wouldn't call more control sloppy, or quick share seamlessly being available along with nearby share for years integrated all along, and if people aren't mature enough to use more than one app or refuse to when using plenty in a day then they can keep the pictures or videos. For the beginner in software ios is perfect if you know how to use software tools the comparison is not needed, you simply continue to gain.

Even though Apple software experience is smoother and feels more seemless and refined at times due to no ads and other things (for which user have to pay for the subscription plans),
Apple is too constrictive, and shackles it's users with its closedness. This takes away any freedom one has and wants while using any device. A user wants their device to do what they want not the other way around where they have to know the limitations of the device and often have to adjust their life style and work flow to suit the software comparability, with no workarounds.
Android is totally opposite where it offers full customisation and control to the user to make the work flow work based on their requirement, and often will offer work arounds for many last minute, unplanned things that won't work with the usual procedure.
Samsung being in android has that edge and will always be my first choice due to the inherent freedom it provides being an android device.
And I feel android is always more user friendly than iOS except for some niche skins. Especially the One UI of samsung is one of the best thinga that has happened in android world. It is one hand friendly, smooth, seemless, elegant , and it now has all those features to a fully matured level, that Apple users enjoyed with their eco system. And it is lot more user friendly than iOS. I often get lost trying to do what I want in an iPhone when compared to my new samsung phone. Even though I didn't use iphone as my daily driver, my parents have been using iphone for past 3 years and I often have to use it and get things done that they want. And often it feels so restrictive to do such a simple task that it always bolsters my opinion about iOS more and more (it being smooth elegant and apple products have more processing power in some cases but are extremely restrictive, have very few features compared to android counterparts and troublesome when you really need it to do something which you can do easily in android but can't do on iOS whatsoever.)
For me Apple is lot less user-friendly and Android feels complicated to only those people who are too used to iPhones and are continuously spoonfed with the limited options available that they can't comprehend little more customisation whatsoever.)
All these comments are my personal opinion based on many iPhone vs android using relatives and friends both in my generation and older generation as mine as well.
Additionally, Samsung has improved to great lengths to make the software experience as seemless and smooth as it can be even better than apple sometimes.
The interdevice integration in Samsung is best in its lifetime it only gets better from here. Seeing that it has already reached 90% of the experience apple eco system is providing,
It will soon catch up to become a lot better option especially for people who hate the lack of freedom to do a simple task on a device, which you bought paying a premium, and are paying extra for services but still can't do what you want and doesn't even offer any work around for it. Also for people like me
Who wants to use windows PC and Google services some of which are lot superior. Also who doesn't use all those services, to be able to pay for it in recurring manner, especially in India where the price goes up the roof after convertion to INR.

i disagree with you, cleary you are either ignorant or a apple hater.....As for products apple's support system is far better than samsung... Apple products are durable , supported software and works for years to come unlike android where it becames obsolete in 3 years and you ended up spending double or triple.....That is why android devices does not hold up value..FYI I am nor pro apple or pro android just enjoy technology... I use both and i can tell u you dont have to be in full ecosytem of either one.. I use IPhone, IPAd and Samsung tablets , and window PC for work and personal.... Go for what based on your needs rather than for the brand name ...Samsung offers excellent TV's, fridge and same time poor air conditioner and laptops.

@@siggi9240 I'm not going to lie, my Apple products have malfunctioned and broken more times than any of my Android products. I've had to replace several Apple products in the past year alone. But I do have AppleCare on all of my Apple products, and I'll admit that it is extremely easy to get them fixed or replaced. Even during a pandemic.
Android products don't hold value as long as Apple products because of brand recognition. I doubt the average consumer even knows what software version they are on, or how to even find it. Apple holds value because it is Apple. The same reason why people will pay over a thousand dollars for their phones. Most of Android phone sales come from the mid-range/affordable market.

id go xiaomi anytime, with planned obsolescence on both android and apple (apple though is more greedy in this sense), you save significant money as you can do just fine and any bragging rights that come w/ premium brands makes you look rich but come on, you don't get richer when you spend
one thing i gripe about xiaomi is volume, they seem to imitate the principle of decibels and is annoying when sounds suddenly flactuate
