Absolutely, it would work perfect as a long reach desktop mic, depending on the mostly use, you may have to use a little more weight on the base to counterbalance. Good luck!
Just an update: I set up the MB1 and it works great! Feels really solid and well made. I’ve got a Samson CO1 mic which is a bit heavy but the boom is stable. Perfect for sitting or standing when recording my podcast!
I agree, it is a little dark, maybe to dark depending on your media device. I thoroughly show the product in the video, I can see everything quite well on my laptop, pc and tablet...not so much if streaming on a tv.

Would this be good for recording acoustic guitar in terms of highet and clearance?
If you are sitting down definitely, if standing it depends on the height, I'm 5'8" and it would work for me, but much taller maybe not.

Can this be used with a desk clamp after separating the base?
@PlayJewel yes, it has a standard mic clip mount on the upright pole and on the boom pole, it's just a bit large to be used as a desktop mic stand.
