Once upon a time Frigidaire built products that lasted. Today nothing, but failure prone rubbish.

I tested the old fan motor (and the replacement) by using a drill battery that puts out about 12 volts. I connected the positive to red and also yellow by using a jumper. The negative connected to brown. The old fan didn't move, but the housing got warm. The new motor started spinning. We had a similar model Electrolux to this video, so almost everything was the same. The video was a great help.

just curious what exactly your problem/symptoms were before you replaced this fan.
i.e. what exactly happens when the fan doesnt work.
does the freezer not get cold? or the fridge? or both? etc

Help! I followed directions precisely and when I went to plug in new fan the plug wouldn't press down far enough to catch. It's like the metal prongs are too heavy of gauge. Double checked part number on fan - correct. Probably something stupid so be gentle...

HINT: Once motor is replaced and mounted, plug in and make sure the fan is running before you put it back together.

Regarding a Frigdaire glhs36eesb0 side by side... It is cooling fine. Freezer is cold. But recently the Evaporator Fan has started running all the time. I suspect some little sensor has gone bad??? What controls turning on and off the fan in the Freezer?

My Frigidaire Frig (Model: FGHB2844LF3) has an SY EF error. I've replace the evap fan/motor and control board. Yet, the error still remains. Could it be a thermistor (PN# 5303918416) or refrigerator sensor (pn# PP8992304X61-X3)? Sometimes I'll hear a noise that sounds like ice falling falling inside of the freezer, but there's no ice build up on examination. What could be the problem? Can you help point me in the right direction please? I'm almost to the point of just throwing it away and getting another frig.
