If I hadn’t googled it I probably wouldn’t have gone to the ER right away. Instead of going home I went to the hospital. Within 3 hours I had lost the ability to speak. With meds the swelling in my brain went down but it took a few hours for my speech ability to come back. If I had gone home I would have gone sleep and who know what would have happened if I delayed seeking medical treatment because for a time I felt fine. Not all information even medical from google is bad or unhelpful. Having some information about concussions helped me make the right decision.

@@CarilionClinicVA I tripped over my friend and banged my entire right side on the floor. I'm worried I might have a concussion. I didn't feel nasuea or dizzy, just out of breath like I always feel when I get hurt, and head pain, later arm and hand pain. Teacher checked my eyes for signs 3 hours later, said I was fine cause I got a ice pack, I felt sleep during music class, but felt better during the day, now that I'm worrying about it I have slight head pain where I got hurt, and I'm confused, do I have a concussion, don't want to make a false trip to the E.R.

Marijuana and meditation.. I don't know how else to survive it.
This is a very slow, slow process. Do not get discouraged. You will get through this. I still don't feel right and it's been almost six years now

@@followyoursoul7659 Unfortunately, sleep/rest alone can't heal concussion. You should be active too! I found a CZcams channel that is dedicated to concussion. Its name is "complete concussion management". And cognitive fx is another CZcams channel that is for concussion/brain injury patients. Have you ever heard about these before? I find it very informative! After watching their videos, I try to heal myself at home!
What’s dumb is when someone accepts anything as fact online or doesn’t know WHERE to look or how to spot signs of junk info. Another way to be dumb is to be UN-curious. I only learned that from the teacher who changed my life and showed me that he had the patience to answer any DUMB question I had until I wasn’t dumb anymore.
It’s also dumb to assume a doctor is always available.
But, also thank goodness for the emergency room!

For me I hit my head on the edge of a window seal made of hard rock (I lived in Bermuda where houses are made out of lime rock or something) so I'm running and I bounce up on my bed which is next to the window and you guessed in when down amd boom, I remember bleeding from my head and the doctor putting some medical glue on there instead of stitching, then my memory skips to school, but anyway that was I was maybe 5 or 6 and I'm now 17, I don't recall my parents getting me checked for a concussion, but through out my academic career I've struggled concentrating and problem solving and I'm wondering if this could actually still be effecting me.

I just wanna let everyone know who’s thinking about passing the doctor when having these symptoms, I did that and I basically needed to learn to use my legs normally (physical therapy) for almost a year twice a month I also have permanent effects like sensitive to light and sound. So if that sounds fun to you be an actual idiot and do what I did! 😀 also all this stuff happened with like a day or two of ignoring it then I passed out and forgot things, don’t wait, GO TO A DOCTOR!!!

I had a concussion and made a 100% recovery in about a month and in fact feel better after following the concussion
I fell out of a trampoline throwing up afterwards and having to be in the ER for 9 hours straight and I got a concussion.never going on a trampoline again
i was skateboarding and i took a really hard fall which ended up smacking my head on the concrete i have a huge lump and my whole body is sore and when i lay down i kid you not everything is spinning i’m always dizzy

C ouch !! please be careful ! i’m so much better after about almost two weeks of healing. turns out it was a concussion lmao. just make sure you rest A LOT and eat healthy foods with PLENTY of water! you’ll get better eventually ! :,)

I can't tell if I have one. I was in an accident a month ago and aside from headaches and some nausea the week after I've been feeling fine
I was hit by a car as as pedestrian and went to a neuropsychologist for memory loss. He told me I bet you wouldn’t have memory loss if you didn’t have a law suit. 3 years, I’m losing strength in my arms and tripping over my feet, dizzy and can’t remember 30 years of my life. I had to borrow $2,000 dollars for a neuropsychologist exam. The cheapest I could find. Most people it takes 6 years to get a diagnosis. 90% of TBI’s do not show up on scans which cost thousands of dollars and not covered by insurance.

I got ringing in my ears, some memory loss and can’t see objects very far. I think I have one but I can’t go to a doctor because of COVID. What am I supposed to do?

Hit the back of my head mid wrestling practice and kept going got home and did simple at home tasks and I might have one. I have a meet and school tomorrow so I’m pretty pissed.
I have 16 documented concussions the two worst concussions I ever received were literally 10 days apart. I’m over 60 now, and I have eyesight and cognitive issues directly related to those concussions. I received concussion while playing a D1 sport should that College be responsible for some of my treatment.
Honestly a friend from school got a concussion the other day from hitting his head on a bar really hard.

I had a severe concussion and I happen to find an article that studied ice therapy For severe concussions. It was the best thing ever. It talked about a regimen of icing your head with ice packs throughout the day And that help significantly. the other thing that helped was steroids. Without those two things I don't think I would have ever gotten through it. Still it took A very long year to recover.

Hey, sorry for bad grammar and stuff like that but. I was hitting in practice and I don’t remember exactly what happened but I went up a against a kid who was like 50 or 100 pounds bigger and his helmet or shoulder pad hit my helmet on the left side and my face mask fell off. For a the rest of practice I wasn’t hurting but after practice the left side of my head was hurting from 5:30 pm to now which is 11pm. Now I slept for a bit and I took two low dose aspirin and I’m still feeling the headache. Ik that I was told by you not to be on the screen too long but I want to ask you guys before I go see a trainer or Dr. which I’m apprehensive about doing because one of are coaches said if you miss out tomorrow you will most likely not make the team.

Maybe that’s why I couldn’t get my driver license. I can’t fully concentrate. I think I had a concussion by slipping to the back of my head a decade ago.
Sooo I took a hit to the chin it was about a second long and more of a scrape, for say 3 seconds I was fine than i thought to myself about what if this caused more issues (I have bad anxiety and over think) but after that thought I saw stars for about 15 seconds and stumbled to the gas station about 20 ft away, I was still able to maintain balance and finish a 35 mile bike ride but id had a headache from that morning all the way till now (plus I didn't get much sleep because of the sleep roumer)
