Absolutely agree with all you've said here. DeSantis really should've waited till 2028 and kept his focus on finishing his 2nd term as FL Governor, but the establishement must've planted bad aides coaxing him into running for POTUS so prematurely, then advised him to say and do all the wrong things throughout his campaign- the most effective way to destroy his popularity as a strong and genuine anti-establishment leader. When the Trump indictments were first announced, a sizable chunk of pundits and advisors thought only the most extreme Trump fans would stay loyal. They didn't account for voters, including many non-MAGA, viewing these efforts as blatantly sleazy, hypocritical "lawfare" rather than at least semi-legit. Some even thought Trump himself might drop out in the hopes of relieving his legal troubles. DeSantis listened to those who believed such things, unfortunately. I think he couldn't quite grasp the reality of the situation until the voters actually _voted_ in Iowa; it was all theoretical up to that point. In this regard, I give him credit for bowing out even before New Hampshire. It would have been very easy to be caught up in his own hype, as Haley is, and still believe he could turn things around until at least Super Tuesday.

As a non-American sitting here in South Africa (remember this when I finish my sentence) I find it so funny that a few intelligent Americans are so happy about the possibility of one corrupt political party might replace another corrupt political party in the next election...and openly talking about the amounts of money spent on these campaigns. the money with which Corporate America has bought these parties and politicians with! Remember "(remember this when I finish my sentence)" - well it takes one to see one...I live in a corrupt country...and that is how I recognize and see America for what it is...one of the most corrupted countries in the world!! America's only chance to get some credibility back is to get RFK elected and hope he makes good on his promise to rid America of the corrupt Corporate America run government...

@@thomasg4324: If DeSantis (or Nikki Haley, for that matter) were to go all the way to the convention, fighting bitterly every step of the way for delegates, and particularly if he/she were to refuse to endorse him even after losing the nomination, that would most certainly lead to blame for a loss later on in the general election. Will people denounce DeSantis in November when he dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump more than 10 months earlier, in January, though? I don't see why that would be the case. I guess never say never, but I personally can't imagine what the basis for such recriminations would be.

*First let me thank you for ACTUALLY responding to my question with sincerity. It's refreshing in this day and age.* Now regarding your comment: The DEMONcrats have been pushing hard to get Trump the GOP nomination. The only reason for Biden to run for another 4 years is if Trump runs. You are going to see Trump lose 2024 by more states, and Trump won't get anywhere near the number of votes he got in 2020, and THAT is going to lead to a lot of DERRANGEMENT amongst many of his voters. Trump himself will blame "cheating" and "I got more votes than any previous president...blah blah blah"......and Qanon will pop up again. *I just want to know how widespread the kevetching is going to be. Basically...what percentage of current Trump supporters will be able to finally wake up to RATIONALITY after AmnestyDonald loses because of himself, and his own failures alone.*
