    This video contains:
    1) The Levitron: spin stabilized magnetic levitation- will fly for about 3 minutes or more per launch. Perhaps the most amazing physics toy ever invented!
    2) Ramp Walker Toy: dragged to the edge but never over. Physics puzzle- why does the toy stop at the edge?
    3) Spectra of Neon Plasma Glass: a double walled glass mug glows orange and blue from the excitation spectrum of neon gas at low pressure. How can we know the gas is neon? A diffraction grating splits the light up revealing the famous emission spectrum of the element- you can see a prominent violet line and a bright green line as projected images of the illuminated filaments. The famous yellow and red lines of neon are visible only at the ends of the fractal like filaments. The base contains a high frequency transformer (Tesla coil) that generates high voltage electric fields (but at very low current)- which excites the neon to glow.
    4) Hexa-Sphericon: Sphericons are unique solids that roll in such a way that every point on their surface comes in contact with the plane- following the path shown here with white paper.
    5) The PhoTOP: phosphorescent glow illuminates the intricate path of a 405nm laser pointer beam on a balanced spinning disk. Let the disk set alone for a few minutes to allow the traces to fade- and repeat again and again to experiment making new patterns. Another piece of mesmerizing interactive kinetic art from the mind of Prof. Ken Brecher.
    6) Kluster Magnetic Challenge Game: explore mysterious action at distance via magnetic fields with this fun game setup.
    7) Subtractive Variability Souvenir: in 2022 I received these three disks, a set that forms an incredible interactive souvenir, from artist Felipe Pantone’s solo exhibition at gallerycommon entitled “Manipulable”. Here the disks are presented with a motorized mount of my construction where each can be rotated clockwise or in reverse with variable speed of rotation, and allows for different rates of smooth color mixing. Pantone‘s work is op art extraordinaire- mixing physics and the psychophysics of vision within forms that invite physical interactivity, astounding the senses and giving new insights to our perception.
    8) South-Pointing Chariot: no matter the direction carriage moves, or how many times it turns, the arrow remains pointing south (or whatever direction it was placed initially). This amazing mechanism utilizes a differential gear train, the famous device used in cars to allow wheels to rotate at different rates when cornering. Differential gear trains have the following property, the rotation rate of one shaft is equal to the average rotations rates of the other two shafts. Each wheel of this device drives one of two input shafts, with one geared in reverse, so that if the carriage is moving in a straight line the two rates average out to zero, and the output shaft connected to the top arrow stays stationary. If, however, the carriage turns a corner, one wheel then rotates faster, and the average rate then turns the top arrow at exactly the right rate to stay pointing in the same direction. This design is the most likely basis for the ancient (about 200 CE) Chinese South-Pointing Chariot, described in historical manuscripts which describes a statue on the carriage with an arm extended pointing South. This version was designed by software engineer and tinkerer extraordinaire Matt Keveney, and expertly printed by my friend Alex Kling.
    9) Silica Aerogel: a solid with extremely low density. Light as a feather, a bent post-it note can support the weight of this chunk. Used as insulation and for catching the tails of comets (see NASA Stardust mission).
    10) Gravimorph Spindle: an example of the subtle yet intricate kinetic art of Kazunari Higuchi whose work always features unintuitive motion of uniquely shaped objects coupled with an intriguing audio experience- and powered only by the transformation of gravitational potential energy to the kinetic energy of motion.

When the Ramp Walker Toy was already at the edge, the string was pulling downwards so the toy does not fall over. Also, the mass of the weight on the other end of the string is not heavy enough to cause the toy to tip over.

    hello respected sir !,
i am samarth, i know i am not your regular viewer, but i remember when i was in my 10th standard, i used to watch your videos, i really have to say that your videos justt made science everything from me, i love science from that period,
maybe you dont remember me sir... i passed my 12th grade last year in science stream with not muchh good grades, cause i got distracted while my studies and things happen and studying science became pressure for me cause i need to pass exams, but i took drop and preparing for iiser aptitute test, basically i got inspired again from your videos sir
and doing preparation to get in premiere Research institute of india known as IISERS (Indian Institute For Science Education And Research), if things goes planned, i am gonna do BSMS from IISER and then purse for PHD and definately will come to meet you respected Raymond hall sir :), i know your name sir, i even have conversation with you in your old videos comment section.
    your biggest inspiration

sir i still remember your talk one thing is true for collectors is that your collecting is proportional to how much you can share your collection, and so you converted all your toys in one minute or less videos to upload on instagram...
and hence sir i also wanna like you so as i can't afford those toys that you have so i created some of them through art and craft materials :), oh the conversation not getting end, ok sir i hope you remembered me, thank you for your wishes :)

There are two vectors of forces at work on the Ramp Walker Toy. One is gravity of Earth pulling on the weight and also pulling the toy and the other is the friction of the table. At the start the friction isn't high enough to prevent the toy from moving. Since the feet are slightly rounded and movable it starts moving. Once the toy reaches the edge the friction is high enough to stop it and the gravity on the toy itself stops it. Also the weight isn't high enough to pull the toy over.

The phoTOP looks like the kind of thing that would be an easy way to damage you eyesight. If you accidentally go too far in to the middle and the laser hits the shiny metal turning knob, the beam could reflect in to any spectator's eyes. Easy one to fix with a matt black coating/cover.
