    Thanks for the content! I'm starting my IT journey with my 22 yr old son this month. We both are new to IT and are planning on taking on the WGU IT Management Degree once we complete all of the transfer classes with Study & Sophia. Unfortunately, we each do not have any existing transfer credits - so we'll need to knock out all available transfer courses (28) prior to entering WGU. I'm currently between jobs, so I can dedicate all my time towards this goal. Realistically how long do you think it should take for me to complete? I know its subjective, but just trying to set a realistic start date for WGU. Just subscribed, so I'll continue to follow your journey as well!

      I think you could realistically get the transfer courses done within 3 - 6 months.
      WGU on the other hand may be more like 3 more months. These are both conservative timeframes.
      But really once you get started and knocking out classes, it becomes a game that you find yourself engaged in the more you play.

    Today I sent in my transcripts to WGU before seeing this video. Should I back out if I'm accepted, then utilize your techniques before applying again? How did you know the degree program courses without being officially a student?

      @tehczavier  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hello, and thanks for checking out my video.
      If you look in the description of this video, you'll see some links to the WGU patners page. That's where you can find information on the courses ahead of time.
      As to your first question, I would say it "depends". If you're just getting back into school and, more specifically, online learning, then I would say start with Sophia.org and Study.com and try to get as many courses completed as possible.
      This will incur more costs on the front end. However, it could save you some money by preventing you from taking more than one term at WGU.

      @@tehczavier Thank you my friend. I really appreciate your attention to detail and your speedy response. I'll do just that. I actually have a JD but completely dismayed with my current job. Frankly, I'm tired of going blind on document review, 75 hours a week, research, in-depth violent stories, and family drama for a $85,000 annual income. Yeah, I know, first world problems. But it's my world that I'm dissatisfied about and only I can change it. Again, thank you.

      I got approximately 54 units and it took about 35 days to complete all 18 courses.

      @taroka671 for me the courses without exams were easiet. Some of them I was able to knock out in 2 - 4 days.
      Writing is my strongest area.

    Did you listen to each text every challenge and study? Or did you just search online and also use resources from the course for everything? Such milestones, and final exams as well.

I don’t feel like I understood enough, for many of the question I had to research. I did pass the milestone with open book from other questions and etc from web. I was imagining to finish all 17 courses of mine in around 35 days but idk if it’s possible. I’m doing business and at the same time as these courses too. What do you think? How long would it take for me to finish these classes? I really want to finish them under 2 months. Do you also have suggestions on how to understand and perform better?

      First thing I would recommend is go at the pace that you are comfortable with.
      Then reflect on your study approach.
      You can sign up for two courses at a time with Sophia. One can be only exams and quizzes and the other can be a mix of both tests and written projects.
      What I did was get started on the prompts for the essays while for one class while take the exams/quizzes for another.

    can you tell me if WGU have a limit on how many courses you can transfer from sophia?

    • @tehczavier
      @tehczavier  Před rokem +1

      As far as I know there are no limits to the amount of courses that you can take. You'll just need to check the partners agreement to ensure that the courses you are taking are transferable.
      I posted a link in the pinned comment if you want to check it out.

    • @tehczavier
      @tehczavier  Před rokem

      That is referred to as "dual enrollment". From what I was told by my counselors, that is not allowed once you have begun taking courses at WGU.
