"You don't lose your soul all at once you lose it a little bit at a time"
Rick Blanchette most accurate way to simplify going off the rails.
i felt that shit
Spot on
It also work in reverse
You don't get better all at once you get better little by little
Some don’t have one to lose in the first place. Ask Hillary Clinton or George bush.
i must have a screw loose
***** I walked away from the movie wanting to fVck him!
You want to defraud people, be a drug addict, then lose everything and go to jail?
Sam Argirou At the expense of others...
***** What's stopping you? Robbing people and then going to jail for it is relatively straight-forward
Sam Argirou I can see the YOLO argument, but you seem to be uninformed as to what he went to prison for. He plead guilty to securities fraud and money laundering (same as Bernie Madoff, for which he is serving the rest of his life in prison, 150 years anyway). The only reason he wasn't sentenced more than 2 years is the scale of the fraud, basically because he hasn't made as much money as Madoff did. But Hollywood tends to portray these scumbags in a positive light, because it's more fun to watch.
"Whether you say, 'I can' or 'I can't,' you're right either way.” ― Jordan Belfort
Henry Ford was the first one to say that actually.
Thanks for fixing my missing information bro.
No you are all wrong confucious was one
Piers makes me so glad that America revolted!!!
@Name Name President vs TV personality? Lol.. ok.. but yes Trump is doing a better job doing an immensely more difficult job than Piers is at his. Amazing question.
Guy made everything of himself and then lost it all, went to jail, and did it all over again minus the drugs and craziness.
Guy made the most of an American Dream. In this world your skills are what get you places and this man put his skills to use.
That last quote you said , spoke volumes too me 💯
I don't think you actually understood the movie mate. it initially glamorises the lifestyle but eventually depicts the inherently morally/ethically corrupt nature of such. i loved it, it's a fantastic portrait of how our societies know the price of all and the value of nothing.
he is 1:100000000000 - will you succeed? I think not.
+Andrzej Strzelecki You need Captagon pills, if you can't find them dig them out, they'll turn you into a beast with unimaginable talking skills and you'll never get bored or tired, it's the secret the %1 hiding. I know cuz I'm one of them.
Andrzej Strzelecki So how many people are in earth according to you?
And he's still rich after all that
Was Up you can't be poor having as much knowledge he has
+Was up No, he became rich again, like a boss.
He's 100 million dollars in debt.
IncorporatedOps Debt does not mean he is broke. His net worth is estimated to be over 10 million + he can keep 50 cents from every dollar he makes on his seminars, book sales, sales training etc.
Marcel Guikema He's not broke, but he's not rich either. He was much richer in the 90s than he is now.
How are people upset that he ate a goldfish when they eat meat standardly anyway?
I think it's more the fact that it was alive when he ate it.. and that it was a guys pet, and he ate it in front of him.
Euan Hamilton
I think it's just as evil to boil a lobster alive, but it's totally acceptablet in our world. So much hypocrisy.
And as I understand it, some employees had "pets" in the office, but it was not because they loved the animals, it was more of an office thing.
It was after all an environment of drugs and alcohol, not the ideal place to have a pet you love..
There's a very simple explanation for that, if you owned a cow and sold it to a slaughter house people wouldn't care that much, if you had a cow as a pet and some psycho killed it then ate it people would sympathize with you as the owner.
Most people don't put a value on animal life unless we're emotionally convinced it has a relationship with us.
I don't know, it's a fucking fish.
Think It's a side effect of the "parenting genes" we have, the same stuff that makes many of us instinctively want to take care of our offspring also make us love kittens, dolls or fishes in some cases.
I really don't give a crap about the fish though, but I do feel sorry for the poor guy who valued it so dearly and had it taken away from him.
Dude was definitely there when they threw those dwarfs. He instigated. Had a sick time.
I cannot tell you how much I dislike piers morgan
Jake Huseman I’m British, I can’t stand him
Brazilian/Norway you mustn’t be from the UK then, mate
Brazilian/Norway I can’t stand him, he’s deplorable
Brazilian/Norway well I wouldn’t say smart
But that’s my opinion
@Brazilian/Norway hes an asshole is what he is
Piers Morgan taking the moral high ground. Just interview the man.
Piers is unvearable and so rude
His life in the movie is glamorized and at certain points you really WANT to live his life. But what I love about Scorsese is that he shows it in a way where it's introduced as if he's saying "that's what you want, alright buddy, just try keeping up." Then as soon as a character reaches the pinnacle, there's that downfall which brings us back to reality.
If I were Jordan Belfort, I wouldn’t regret it that much
Belfort is a legend. He tried to beat the system and, for a time, he actually did. Legend.
For 6 years! Can you imagine? 6 years worth of criminal activity and serve less than 2 years in jail.
You can tell he is good at selling the way he talks fast, fluently and confidently.
im so fucking curious to hear his story at the end
+Keith Gliksman live rendition of 2 girls 1 cup

He just revealed it. Watch him on logan paul podcast, it was pretty fucked.

he's had more fun in 5 years than most have ever
Actually his run was more like 8 years but I get your point.
+Carl Taylor Intentionally lying and cheating people out of their money, ruining other people's lives, contracting STD's, addicted to drugs, being suicidal when sober because you realize what you've done, then taking more drugs to feel numb, going to jail because you're a criminal--not at all sure how people consider this to be "fun". Ohhhhh, but he partied, had lots of sex and got rich.
Hannah Maddela
All true but how many 25 year olds do you know that make $1 million a week. Even if its by deceptive means. He married a model, sank a yachts and took so much drugs it would kill your average person.
munib1000 I'm one of those people that doesn't give a crap how much money he made at what age. No amount of money could tempt me into that world because I take pride in having dignity. He did it all by being a dishonest business man and intentionally ruining the lives of other people. I'm not impressed with anything this man did and it's shocking how many people glorify him. Oh and he beat his wife.
Hannah Maddela
I'm no way defending him or his business partners or employees but he didn't take people's money by robbing them. Its not his fault that people are gullible. He down fall was mostly drug related. But he is still a scam bag through and though. Its just interesting to read about his live becuase he lived sp crazy. dan bilzerian got nothing on him.
jordan @4.00 was holding that smile back so hard.... you know he was thinking about the 49 million lmoa
Honestly, this man is a legend. He is not normal by any standards. His manipulating skills and public speaking talent is matched by none, and when you have a skillset like that, the sky is the limit. Jordan Belfort took opportunity as soon as he saw it, because in his mind, he was rich already. He knew that he would be rich, it was just a matter of how fast he would get there and how much he would accumulate. A man like this is one in a million, and a man with the ambition level of his own is one in a billion. Shame to any who doubt him or call him out for his illegal acts, for they do not understand what he went through to get where his now.
I bet he got butt raped everyday in prison.
*****
Getting butt raped 3 times a day for a few years might be worth his money. But there's people richer than him that didn't get butt raped that I'm more jealous of.
***** Yeah, Mark Zuckerberg
He could steal money from your parents pension and you would still idolize him. Dummy lol
Fred Bread my parents are dead
Something really irked me about Piers Morgan introducing the trailer as a clip from the film
“The movie being seen as a cautionary tale.” He doesn’t regret one single thing and the would do it all over again. He’s the first one to glorify it.
Man, Jordan Belfort is "Quagmire."
RonaldReaganRocks1 DUUUUDE!!! 😂😂😂
Except not really, at all.
The sex part?
He’s like quagmire except successful at everything he does
He sounds just like him lol :L
I knew a guy who was a diagnosed psychopath. Charming guy. This guy reminds me of him.
Yup, those are psychopaths for you!
Aaron Horrell yeah look at those eyes... anyone who has encountered a psychopath can recognise them
Sociopath*
Psychopath in Greek means the soul is in pain.
Thom Stoops I saw this comment from thom stoops on CZcams you remind me of them
5:54 "Leo was so determent to suck every bit of information from me" LOL, interesting choice of words.
This comment is so underrated.
I love Jordan Belfort but it seems like Leo had his life threatened to say those things.
Yeah! It was like he was reading it and close to crying lol
do you know what Leo did to Elizabeth Berkely ?
Don't project.
He's so full of shit. The whole point of the movie is that he gets off easy. "I was truly scared when I went to prison, but I had forgotten something. I was rich." There is NO sense of his life falling apart. Even with Naomi he doesn't really love her, he loves her sex and the ownership he has over his kids and his possessions, and he hardly gets what he deserves there either. The movie is morally bankrupt, it's meant to be. There is no catharsis, because it's real life, and this is the world we live in.
***** People like you miss the entire point of the film. It was never meant to glorify his actions
I agree it doesn't glorify his actions, but there is definitely no sense of justice at the end. The film is a documentary of the craziest excesses of the system we live in, is the point I took from it. Which is why I can't take the guy seriously when he makes an interview like this.
who cares, still a great film
short steve You see you guys are forgetting something. Money. When you have a enough money to do whatever the fuck you want, the lines of morality are blurred and you start to not give a fuck, and instead start to enjoy life
Sadly: prison really is a place "where everything is for sale".
Whenever I see Jordan Belfort's face, it makes me thinks "Man, it would be awesome to have a sales training session with him.
Put aside Jordan Belfort, what about Piers Morgan? What an absolute obnoxious, self absorbed worthless interviewer. It's a blessing he was fired, and back to England he will go -

Awesome interview ! Love how Pierce Morgan keeping poking for more and more interesting information! 😆👏🏼
wow the remorse of this man is humbling...
A lot of people miss the message of this movie. The beginning shows degrees of glamorization of this lifestyle, but any critical thinker could see the tremendous backfire. Let's also remember that 1 person gets a movie made out of this, and every other person that tries this is just a copycat. There are 1 million people that try this drug and greed lifestyle, and it ends a much more extremely negative way. Let's not forget those people.
Even in the movie there is a mention of close friends that died young.
You’re quick …
@@deerheart87 you mock him but most of the comments in any wolf of wall street CZcams video are people just wishing they're were like Jordan an awful corrupted criminal and they praise Jordan like some sort of hero or god bc greed and selfishness and drugs is good bc he was successful at it, even in the end regardless of his victims. The comment below this literally says "you really WANT to live his life". Yep its pretty clear people got wrong idea from the movie
Prison was worth...
Don’t care what anyone says of this man you can hate on him all you want but you can’t hate on his hustle. a real genius this one nothing but respect
You call it hustle but he was nothing more than a lowlife thief who figured it was easier to make it illegally than do it honest like most of everybody else

I stopped watching this video before the third minute because of Piers Morgan.
I know, Jeremy Clarkson should've done it.

I hate Morgan but it’s worth sucking it up for Belfort. In fairness Piers isn’t that bad here.
Whats so bad about him?
Wooden Spoon he’s pretty mean spirited, takes cheap shots at people, is incredibly egotistical and is generally a fucking tool.
So this guy scams people for millions, yet has a freaking movie made about him starring heavyweight names. He even met Di Caprio in person. What does that tell us? As long as you're interesting enough, people won't give a shit if you've done bad things.
The same moral one can conclude from David Fincher's Gone Girl.
politicians lie, steal, distort, extort, corrupt, murder, enslave and self-serve but people keep voting for them and their parties.
no shit, we glorify serial killers in western civilization too, just cause they're fascinating, regardless of their victims. Sick humans, no existing humanity
MrEnjoyBeats He went to prison...although I wish he would pay back the money. problem is, the government would get it
He knew DiCaprio during his time making millions on wall-street, and he's supposedly been reimbursing the client's he ripped off.

It is really annoying to see these people speak as if nothing happen, while so many people lost their retirement money due to his illegal actions. Something is fundamentally wrong with our society. This person stole $200M or so. He should go to jail for 22 years not 22 months. I mean give me $200M, and by all means i would go to jail for 22 months.
Make them drink ayahuasca, and the'll change.
The reason he got such a small sentence is because of the millions he spent on lawyers and also his cooperation with the FBI
my respect, Jordan Belfort. legend!
Bad guys win. Love it.
I guess so, but one question: is being the bad guy worth it?
Maurice Wilson is being the good guy who pleases everyone worth it?
Good Question: Honestly yes & no
I'm a strong believer in balance. Yes I can be greedy, a womanizer, etc.. But also I really love/care for my family and I love motivating/inspiring people. Some weeks I feel like the devil, others an angel. Hard to be the "good guy" in today's world.
Christopher Karimi Wrong. It’s easy to be the good guy & it’s also easy to be the bad guy. People just tend to get further when they can disconnect from others’ emotions

this guy is fckin insane
I am sure that you are a normal millionaire too.
At least he isn't as bad of the other fucks on Wall Street. Where this guy has a decent sense to realize that what he didn't wasn't the most ethical, most of them would believe the world owes them a favor for the downfall or commit suicide. Jordan Belfort's downfall is that he began stealing from the greedy fucking rich... when it was the poor, it wasn't that much of a big deal.
he's simply a sociopath.

At the back of the room, a beastly pink-sheet hooker with orange hair and the face of a bulldog was sitting on a bar stool, stark naked and covered in tattoos. Her legs were spread wide open, and a line of twenty naked Strattonites were waiting to bang her
Chuck Norris
Right, Chuck:
That is all the book states. But, come on -- hookers wouldn't be disgusted by some dog-faced punker forming a waiting line "Airplane"-movie-style, right?
Now, Belfort DID write: "In that very instant I became disgusted with everything my life stood for. It was a new Stratton low."
So, it seems something EVEN worse happened. (Yeah... now I'd like to know too!)
Thanks for the fact-check, Chuck Norris! "Ha-YAH!"

Does anybody known what Jordan was talking about at the end?
I actually have respect
Because he exploited a broken system admitted to it and did his time
LOL it was not his decision to do his time, he was required and physically forced by law and law enforcement.
People who got screwed over shouldn't have bought those crappy penny stocks. Am I right or am I wrong.?
You're wrong. Maybe it was a bad decision to buy, but Jordan actively and illegally prevented them from selling those stocks when their value came crashing down. That's not their fault, that's Jordan being a scumbag.
Know your investment before you purchase. SEC Regulation has public companies publish their annual reports for future investors to research. And don't tell me it's not fair for someone to have to read an income statement, if you're gonna buy a portion of a company you should know how to read their income statement (it's pretty self explanatory)
Keller Coleman Jordan also explained in the book and the movie that he manipulated stocks with ratholes and other methods so he (and the strattonites) would be making money.
@nathaneal graham I'm not disagreeing that what Belfort did was wrong. Pump and dump of stocks to maximize profits should not be allowed whatsoever; keep in mind that he did this in the 80's tho... Things have changed drastically because of people like him, and I feel like this movie reinforces the notion that all in Wall Street are corrupt and know something the general public doesn't. The fact of the matter is that there is more regulation in Wall Street than ever before. Just because there are "losers" doesn't mean we should kill the market... People who invest in a company should (and hopefully are) aware that there is a very real chance that there investment could lose them money
your totally right. Its not all Jordan's fault people need investigate, study a stock, and not jus trust a broker over the phone. people need to be smart with there own money
