Kick-offs will no longer be reliable bathroom breaks. I was skeptical, but this sounds interesting.
It's better than all the touchbacks. Super Bowl didn't have a single return. Boring.
Thank you
So if a kicker , kicks ball into end zone the receiving team gets ball at 35?
How do they get the ball at the 40 this is all confusing lol
if the issue is touchbacks then put the kicker back further.
@@TheLemon420 they say to many injuries at kickoffs, guys running full speed clashing into each other. So now there 10 yards apart and can’t pickup enough speed to hurt each other. ( that’s the reasoning. ) if that’s the case what about punts? It’s getting ridiculous.
Kickers need to have a little finesse now, not only a big leg. The new skilled player. Let's go!
Kicker cards going up
Why even have returners like, normally, a WR? Now, wouldn't an RB be even better at this sort of distance?
Probably so. Just depends on the athlete
It’s been changed from the 35 yard line to 30 yard line if it lands in the end zone.
Interesting
Devin Hester is pissed
Notice that almost all first round picks were offensive players. Even defensive coaches seeing handwriting on the wall
Hmmm elaborate please
With new kickoff and hip tackle rule, defense will be even more handicaped. Best to focus primarily on offense to take advantage
Could've just went back to the original kickoff.
Exactly it was fun when the kicker kicked from the 25 putting it at the 35 ruined Kickoffs. This seems confusing to me?
For players safety purposes the original kickoff was outlawed because the tacklers have a running start and most hits from tacklers with the running starts causes concussions hence the reason they revised it
@@CesarNoelQit's football. It's a violent contact sport. I don't want to put dresses on the returner.
@@w6467 Dresses 🤣
So now starting at the 25 yard line wont be the average starting position, it will around the 30-35 because of where the players line up?
Can you still throw the ball like a lateral if you want? No on side kicks anymore?
Yes laterals are allowed
Why wouldn't you just kick the ball out like before? Seems like 30 yard line is fine to concede considering all the things that could go wrong for the kicking team
That's exactly what's going to happen
Somebody tell the 49ers so they’ll know before the season starts
Best comment yet
I know you can use a drop kick in football can you use it for kick off like in rugby ?
This will make games a lot more competitive for sure.
I hope so
It IS better than all touchbacks, but it's funky, I think with getting the ball on the 20, or 35, or 40.....There's just too much going on. If the problem was kickers are just too strong and esily kick it out of the endzone, well I think they just should have moved the kicker back, the way it was in the early 70's. BUT......That doesnt address the high speed collisions, and thats what this is really all about. I just worry about with the rule that with the kickoff team being stationed so far downfield and not being allowed to move until the returner catches the ball, there will be way too many runbacks. In future seasons we may see the kicking teams defenders a bit more spread out, instead of being in a perfect line, so theres more lines of defense against a runback. So they still wont be allowed to move until the returner catches the ball, but they will be in better position once the returner breaks that first line of defense, Yep, my way is better
It's about time the NFL adopted the XFL kickoff scheme. 90% of the NFL kickoffs I have seen over the last season are touchbacks. This will bring back kickoff returns while at the same time being safer overall for the players.
Thank you. Seems simple enough
Any thing that’s new is something I’m too fragile to accept.
lol why?
The XFL ratings are ominous for a reason - it's the XFL. Many will be turning the NFL off also.
XFL doesn’t have NFL brand names or stars. This will be a hit
NFL Ratings have been gangbusters.
Seems like Xavier Worthy at a 4.21 40 will be putting the Chiefs in a good field position this year…
Anything is better than a touchback.
Facts. So boring
The only thing I don't like is the on side kick rule.
Yes. They need to make an option where the offense can keep the ball after scoring
Lol kicking prop bets are gonna be crazy. 🤑
9:30 - _OMG!😲..._ I _LEGITIMATELY JUST NOTICED_ that you've been sitting in the bottom left-hand corner of the video this _ENTIRE TIME!!!_ hahaha😆

Funny enough that was the last time I owned any apple products. Android ever since
I like this rule. I think it has the potential for some exciting games.
Thanks for watching! I hope you check out other videos
Does dude really laugh like that? 😂
Yes John!
He’s special I’m pretty sure. Had to watch in 1.5 speed too
whats awful is the touchbacks on kickoffs
Facts
This is going to be just like the MLB pitch clock, it will be objectively better but people will still find a way to nitpick and complain for at least the first season
Agreed. Pitch clock was incredible
Yes for me. Because now special teams will have a bigger mission, can actually be creative and it is safer for all the players.
True Scott. I hope you check out other videos
Idc it makes the game more interesting now. Most likely higher scoring games
Love it Robert!
Thanks for a more objective take on this. I initially watched a video that claimed this rule would kill the game, so I came into tis with some skepticism, but there are always two sides to a story. I especially like the fact that you, having played the game, support rules that minimize injury. I wonder how many of the guys who think the safety rules re for sissies actually played. I never played, but I know something about good business practices, and the safety rules make sense from an economic standpoint. Even if I were a greedy, heartless team owner who only cared about making money and not about my players' well-being, I would still support rules that enhanced player safety and minimized injuries. An injured player still draws a salary. Every game that player misses will cost me money. And if it's a key player, his absence impacts the overall quality of my team, which means less chances of winning, which means I will make less money. So even if we throw basic human decency out the window, player safety makes sense from an economic standpoint.
Hey Mike! Thanks for comment. I strive to be as objective as possible. Granted, I didn't play at the NFL level, I HATED kickoff collisions.
I hope you check out my other videos!
Where did you play ball?
The Chargers when they were still in San Diego
lol nice@@PowerHourNFL
I love the changes….. anything to stop all the touchbacks!!
Homers cry. Don't understand search xfl kickoff in action. It has worked very well since 2020.
I can’t wait to see it
Very complicated.
Welcome back Greg!
accurate kickes with less KO leg liking it
People might go to the UFL instead of the NFL
Yeah that ain't happenin
Why not just set the ball on the 25 yard line if they're serious about reducing concussions?!?
Because Special teams has always been an integral part of pro football. If kickoffs were to be eliminated the offense should get the ball at the 15 yardline,NOT the 25. The Offensive side of the ball can earn the paychecks.
I LOVE IT!
Welcome Braydon! Hope to see you more often
Isn't punting just as dangerous??
Not even close.
There is not as much speed built up from the returner and the punting team.
Kickoffs are insanely high speeds
Whatever it takes to keep the kickoff
It is what it is
Good rule change but onsides are still bad.
I know I sound like an old fart, but I just hate to see the game of football changed. I feel like this won’t last long, but then again I said that about the pitch clock rule in the MLB. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Do you like the pitch clock?
I've been reading a book about the history of football and you'd be surprised how many rules were created or changed to make the game safer or more exciting. Point is it's not like the football you remember that you grew up with was always that way and as I'm reading this book funny enough they have people in it who also complained about the new rules. They were aghast that throwing the ball forward was allowed.
Man this ish sorry bunch of holdings about to be called
Why?
This is terrible. The NFL is ruining football and now has started to have to fix problems that they created and could be solved by going back to how it was. You want less touchbacks? Put the kicker back and make fair catches inside the 20 bring the offense to the 20yd line. You want player safety? Give players healthcare, play 16 games, and stop playing on Thursday night. This is getting infuriating as a diehard.
I agree with you. The NFL keeps breaking things that don't need to be fixed. This just more smoke and mirrors b.s. The current UFL Kickoff Format works just fine from what i have seen.
@@sirtype-alot3391 real talk
Next year they'll probably shorten the field to 50 yards. 🤣 I hate high scoring football; that's what college football is for. Scoring should be hard and really rewarding.
Well, the NFL had one of its worst offensive years in 2023
That laugh gotta get checked
High on life
I like it! Get over it~for the ones that can't except change~Now the teams will have to have more invested like the other sides of the ball! The old ways SUCKED~!
The Green Bay Packers return man loves it with the new rules~ He is all fired up ready to go~
Y
Just give the offense the ball. Why would I want the other team to return the ball at all? I’m kicking it out the end zone every time.
You want to give them the ball at the 40?
Football starting to suck
What other things don't you like?
So you're saying touchbacks with no returns are better?
The refs for sure praying on footballs downfall @@PowerHourNFL
