The fact that this show breaks the mold of what is the hero’s journey, a Disney writers staple, and succeeds farther than most. I guess they were right when they said it didn’t fit the Disney brand, it was meant to surpass it, all its barriers and rules, shattered in the best way

People always say it "doesn't fit the brand" due to the open lgbt representation. To an extent I believe its that, however this comment honestly makes me rethink that. This show is definitely an outlier in terms of storytelling than most other Disney shows. Shows like amphibia fit a lot cleaner with the stereotypical "hero's journey" you mentioned.

Luz's shift in characterization has been so interesting to witness. It honestly reminds me of when Finn in Adventure Time became more jaded as the show went on mainly due to the disappointment meeting his deadbeat father and him screwing up his relationships. It's interesting how these young protagonists shift from being wide-eyed and cheery kids to being more reflective teenagers.

The finale was awesome no doubt but it was far from the best
Amphibia was better and Gravity Falls is still king when it comes to Disney Finales. Part of it has to do with the show just not having a proper full last season but the rest was just kinda the show writing itself into dead ends without resolving plot points and such.

@@elmjojokes7782 naaah, The Owl House finale is so much better than the finale of Amphibia, dude. They are both good shows, but the finale of Amphibia is not even standing on the same level with TOH's finale. Amphibia's finale (SPOILER ALERT, DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED) just went with the whole route of the girls going back to the real world and losing all the contact with their amphibian friends, trying to make a point of living in the present and not focusing on the past, yet Anne literally ends up going forward in life LIVING in the past working as the amphibian care-taker or whatever the job was (been a while since I've watched the finale, sorry.) The girls grew up, sure, but the fact that they had to cut all the contact with the other world is just beyond dumb. Now they live basic lives only remembering how great they once were and what good friends they once had.
TOH finale, on the other hand shows Luz basically saying "screw fate and destiny!" and allows her to not only protect the people and the world that she cares about, but also to be able to still live the new life of being a witch and studying magic. There was a cool fake-out as if she was permanently stuck in the human realm, but then it was revealed that she was actually going to the magic college. You won't believe how much I screamed in absolute happiness when it was revealed that she can still travel to the demon realm and visit her friends and family there. And oh boy, even though the show was cancelled, and the production team was only allowed to release three episodes, the sheer amount of content about background characters they were able to include in the last episode was truly incredible, and I loved every second of it.
It's okay if you like the Amphibia's finale more then TOH's finale, but I just can't agree with you on that front.
As for Gravity Falls' finale - I don't think that it's fair to even include it in the comparison. GF was an absolutely incredible show that changed the cartoon industry, and without it shows like Amphibia and The Owl House wouldn't be even a bit as good as they are. But I still feel like TOH was able to beat it in terms of how great the finale was. Both of the shows had one similarity in the finale that really stood out to me - in both of the shows one of main characters died and was brough back to life in a short span of time, but in TOH it still feels impactful and understandable as to why and how Luz was able to be brought back to life, where as when Stan lost all of his memories, it was suppose to be very impactful and sad, and it was....right up until the show just retcons everything and bring his memories back just because. It really lowered the score for the finale for me, even though the finale itself besides that was absolutely fantastic. So, here's my top rating of these three shows in terms of how good the finale was:
      1. The Owl House
      2. Gravity Falls
      3. Amphibia
Like I said before, it's okay if you disagree with my statement and have a different rating for these shows, but I just couldn't not respond to your comment.
Sorry for the rant, but I hope that whoever is reading it at least somewhat enjoyed my mumbling.

@@toad1414 it's ok if you like the owl house finale more. But it's not better for the simple fact that it's riddled with inconsistencies and problems. Screw fate and destiny is cool and all but if you can't understand why saying goodbye and life moving on is actually a real thing in our lives then we cannot have that discussion because you will not understand it. In addition here's a list of problems with the owl house finale:
      1. They never explained Belos and Caleb's backstories despite having foreshadowed it and built it up over the last season
      2. The intro sequence was completely useless, it could have used that time to explain other things or show more important things like the thing mentioned above
      3. Almost every character turns into "oh my gosh Luz!" "Is that Luz?" "Where's Luz?" "Is that you Luz?" Up until the end
      4. Odalia and the other head witches got off without a hitch despite conspiring to literally genocide all life on the boiling isles
      5. They never explained why Luz got transported to Kings father instead of dying. It was just plot armor. And it even begs the question of "why didn't kings dad ever just pull him in there to talk to him and meet him then just send him back home if he could do it like that? After all he only passed on because he gave his life energy to Luz but if he hadn't he'd still be alive.
      4. Speaking of King and his family, they foreshadowed a lot that it would be King that defeated the collector but ultimately he just gave it over to Luz because again no other character matters in the finale I guess
      6. They never explained how they got a door to the human world opened again despite magic literally not existing anymore after the death of the titan
      7. They never explained how the archivists killed the Titans despite the show clearly stating that Titans are immune to magic from the archivists
Do you see what I mean?
Gravity Falls was airtight it did not have unresolved it inconsistent issues and it's a realistic ending that's why it's #1
Amphibia has some plot holes but again also very realistic and a very important message is given as well
The owl house has so many issues, and the message it gave about changing for he better is great but it could've been done so much better and had way more actual consequences in their world
Again you can still like it more it's your opinion and despite it's issues I loved it but I simply cannot agree that it is #1

@@elmjojokes7782 let me answer to your points one by one:
      1. Even though they didn't told you the story right in your face, they left enough hints thoughout the show, especially in the episode where Luz and Hunter went into Belos' mind. You can notice the framed memories all around in the episode and they tell a pretty coherent story about how Belos and Caleb grew up together, Caleb met a witch and discovered the demon realm, and then that Belos murdered Caleb with a dagger. Granted, a lot of the stuff you have to piece together and look through fan theories, but you can still figure out the backstory of these two.
      2. I'm very confused what you mean by the into sequence. Are you talking about the intro to the finale?? how was it useless? It showed that Collector didn't care in the slightest about mentally damaging captured Luz, and just toyed with her feelings by turning her friends into soulless puppets.
      3. Dunno what to tell you about that one. i guess peole can't start freaking out about their friend that is presumably in extreme danger because Collector used your body to mess with them, and now you awake in a strange room full of puppets that used to be people. Truly, a concept hard to grasp, amirite?
      4. They were all presumably manipulated by Belos, just like everyone else on the Isles, but I get why you'd be frustrated about them not facing consequences for their actions. Can't really fight you on that front.
      5. Luz wasn't transported to King's Dad, she was transported to "The Realm in Between", which is like a limbo of sorts, where she met King's Dad. It's literally talked about in the show. Papa Titan didn't snap his fingers and POOF there is Luz now in the room - Luz died and was put in limbo, and King's Dad just used this opportunity to communicate with her.
      6. I don't quite remember what the foreshadowing was, but it the collector WAS defeated with the power of a titan, be it through Luz. So I dunno.
7.The magic didn't stop existing because Papa Titan finally passed on - the only thing that stopped existing were the sigils that Luz used. They were the Special Titan language that only she and Papa Titan new, and then it is shown in the finale, that King is developing his own Titan language - new sigils that Luz can learn in the future! Magic still exists, dude, it's not SVTFOE where the finale just crumbled onto itself with what writers wanted to do about magic.
      8. Again, don't remember about Titan's beign immune to magic, since it's been awhile since I watched the old episodes, but if it is true, then it is indeed a plot hole that I can't find an aswer to, meh.
I suppose we'll just agree to disagree, then. I think that Amphibia is a great show, and I liked watching it a lot, but the moment TOH finale dropped, Amphibia in my eyes was just utterly crushed under the Titan's feet. I just really think that the ending was lackluster and more upsetting than anything.

@@toad1414 1. Still never got a backstory to Belos and Caleb and why their relationship actually fell through, you literally proved my point more lol by explaining how they set it up but never truly revealed what happened
      2. If that was Limbo then did everyone else that died go through there? As in when Caleb died you're telling me papa titan didn't see that Belos was a threat to the boiling isles existence and didn't give Caleb powers to defeat him? Yeah ok sure
      3. Characters being concerned for their friend isn't bad but when it's the entirety of their dialogue until the end it's a detriment.
      4. The collector explains in the finale how the archivists feared the Titans because their magic has no effect on them which is eventually how Papa titan sealed away the collector
      5. Sigils are still a thing at the end with the only difference being that they're bigger so that disproves the point about the language thing in comparison to magic and assuming it was, how did they figure it out? Oh yeah it's because the plot needed them to is why
Luz spent 2 seasons painstakingly having to discover sigils through signs in nature and the like the titan being dead means there are none left oh except for King right? Well how did king rediscover sigils or make his own despite not showing any magical abilities in the ending sequence? It's a plot hole
I should also mention those are just the issues I remember off the top of my head
Edit: forgot to explain the intro sequence point
Anyways, the intro sequence is useless and idiotic. Why? Because we already knew that the collector doesn't understand human emotion that much, they've shown it in the last 3 episodes for crying out loud. Did we really need that sequence just to show again how he is uncaring and dangerous? Why couldn't they have used that time to show how Belos and Calebs relationship fell through? Why couldn't they cut it down to literally a 30 second clip and then focus on anything else? It was pointless and it was really wasted time

Something else I’ve noticed subliminally but has only now clicked, and I really hope happens to bring this full circle. Luz has put all her hopes in being exactly like Azura, one of the reasons she wanted to be a witch was to be like Azura. Heck, every time she refers to her witch persona as Luzura the blend between who she is and who she desires to be, her own hero’s journey. And king says it himself that in the end of the Azura books Azura has to return home just further nailing it in Luz’s head wether intentional or not, that she has to be like Azura. But it’s with her mother finally understanding her and her one true wish embodied by stringbean is that she finally realizes she can be her own person. And I just think it would be so cool just to bookend this whole series if that like in the first and second seasons she finally says with her full chest; do not underestimate me Belos, for I am the good witch LUZ, warrior of peace NOW EAT THIS SUCKAH! (or something that better represents her character not needing to follow Azura’s journey, but I do think “now eat this suckah” is a must)

I personally think that the shift from Luz being sweet and adorable to depressed and self hating is not everything that happened to her but herself. I strongly believe that Luz was a happy and bright person because that environment was not only new to her but exciting as well. As soon as the Boiling Isles became "boring" she started to show her true persona. Since Dana said that Luz has adhd (sort of, she didnt gave a 100% diagnosis), I believe that all that we saw in season 1 is Luz just masking to be socially accepted, but when she realizes that it doesnt matter because things are so much greater than her social life the mask slowly went off and her real side (a depressed, negative and lonely person) started to show. And that is great, because now that her family and friends know that she is like this they can help her and be supportive, things she always did to people around her but kind of never recieved.

    • @JumpdeArt
      @JumpdeArt Před rokem +193

No I do believe Luz’s experiences in boiling isles, and surviving the chain of events she triggered has everything to do with how she regressed in the final episodes.
To respond to your comment as someone with ADHD, I am only depressed, lonely, and self hating BECAUSE of people’s treatment towards me. To cope with the way people treated me, I learned to appeal to others through ‘masking’.
The way luz acted in the boiling isles at first, was a genuine extension of her inner self. She wanted to be understood, so she acted with understanding, and empathy, BECAUSE others also were kind to her and accepting. (Eda, King, Willow, Gus)
It was only when Luz became involved with belos’ scheming, Luz started to question if she yet again, was a burden and a villain to the story, similarly to how she viewed herself growing up. She became self isolating. She began to believe that she deserved to be treated horribly.
Just because someone is neurodivergent, or has ADHD, doesn’t mean you inherently suffer with a bad and unhealthy “true persona”. Getting less joy out of a hyperfixation should not cause you to become harmful towards yourself. The reason Luz was harmful to herself was because of how she interpreted everything she went through. She thought she deserved to suffer after all the suffering she thought she inflicted onto those around her. Someone with ADHD can relate to this very easily, not because they inherently embody negative behaviors as a person, but because it is the way they negatively accept themselves. Negative self talk allows you to have control over the harmful ways others treat you for being different, or making mistakes.
Luz at first, accepted herself on the boiling isles, but when she believed she was just as bad as belos BECAUSE of the effects of her actions, her personality shifted in response.

@@JumpdeArt I agree with your statement of self-loathing being more than a product of ADHD, as I deal with an ADHD brother as well as having quite similar issues to Luz yet not having ADHD (though I have OCD), however I think you miss a few points. It’s been kinda shown that the depressed side of her was a product her father passing away, and her addiction to fantasy became her way of coping, with her overpositive upbeat adventurous attitude being a product of that coping as a way to fight her miserable inner feelings, which led to her being and because of that not feeling understood by basically everyone around her, including own mother due to the aforementioned circumstances literally until S3. I do agree that her fondness of the Isles was partly genuine, as well as her happiness from it being completely genuine. It was her indirectly trying to run away from her depression, from the pain of a lost loved one, and to try and fit in, and it worked at first. She didn’t really wanna become a witch, even if she thought she did, it was her indirectly trying to feel understood, via becoming a witch in a world full of witches (which is why no Palismen went to her when she said she wanted to become a witch), as well keeping her coping mechanism strong. However, after the S1 Finale, the fantasy she was relishing in was beginning to crack a little, and she wanted to fix it quick by the first episode of Season 2 as she was not only guilty for depowering Eda, but scared to fall back into misery. She gets reassurance from Eda in the end of the episode, but that only heals her guilt, not her fear.

@@JumpdeArt She moves along fine through the Season with her recent courtship of Amity really helping her out mentally, until Episode 10, where her fantasy began to break extensively due to the realization that she left a good life and her own loving mother to chase after her fantasies selfishly, at least that’s what she thought about her own actions, and realizing the amount of pain she caused for her mother, it was breaking her. Her fantasy now had a cracked hole in it, she was losing her coping mechanism, her fuel to power her overpositive upbeat adventurousness to overcome her misery was running low. So her trauma responses and ways to deal with problems begin to shift dramatically, from taking it head on and fighting passionately and with determination to fix it, to trying to distract herself from it in a desperate attempt to keep her coping mechanism alive to straight up lying to the people she cares about. It began to unfold itself as each episode went by, the anniversary of her dad’s passing and the reveal of greatly helping Phillip/Belos without knowing who he was, was breaking her fantasy more and more, her misery was beginning to show itself now. It would take the Finale of S2 to fully destroy her fantasy, in her eyes, she was the reason her Boiling Isles family, Eda and King, as well its inhabitants excluding her friends and girlfriend were possibly dead. Her coping mechanism was gone, leaving no fuel to keep her negativity at bay, leaving her depressed side to take the wheel. It turned her back into an attitude of misery, her default attitude you could say. She however has always loathed herself, she just had an effective way of dealing with for awhile, but she was always like that. However, after a much needed heart to heart with her mother in S3 understanding her own understanding and her Palismen hatching which must have been very therapeutic for her, she actually fucking healed a little bit, not just keep the misery and pain at bay, no, actually heal a part of that misery and pain. The final episode however will be the deciding factor wether she will continue to heal, or fall into that dark hole again.

watching this after watching the last episode of the show, it even draws a hard line about what makes a good hero and what doesn't, and about love and friendship. i wish more stories were like this that more people wrote about helping others being more important then going on some path. when ever a good show like this ends i always try to tell my self "don't be sad that it ended be happy it happened"

Thanks for this! This gave me a new perspective on Luz's arc. When I think about it now, it makes sense that this would lead up to Luz, in a way, rejecting the hero's journey. She's always had a choice. She should be able to forge her own path. I would love to see her have the boiling isles and the human realm. Because they're both a part of who she is. I don’t think any kind or amount of words can describe how amazing this video is and how important it means to me personally. I’ve always related to Luz as a character far more than any protagonist before and it was in Thanks to Them that I started to see why. I have always been and always will be a quirky person whose skills and talents are special but do nothing in the society I live in. I’ve always wanted to see myself as a hero like the ones I’ve always admired, but now through Luz’s journey and especially this video making it clear as day, I can already be my own hero just by staying true to myself and having both friends and family that support me and empower me by embracing and reminding me of that. Thank you for showing me that with this inspirational piece of art, and I can’t wait to see how Luz’s character journey and the show itself will end on Saturday!

Watching this video, I thought back to my own personal growth. While my life was not exactly like that of Luz Noceda, I can relate to her in ways you can't even imagine. We're creative. We're bisexual. We like to escape into our own fantasy worlds. I have written many self inserts throughout my life, ones that I have kept to myself, including one for the Owl House. I don't care about what other's might think of me and I have become more open with my family and friends. I used to be very negative and while I still can be negative, I'm not as negative as I used to be. I've also grown to accept that my life is not like that of my fantasies, and while it breaks my heart to know that there are people I like that don't like me back, I have accepted that that's the case. The main thing I like about Disney's Isekai shows is how I can relate to their main protagonists and how these shows have helped me grow into the person I am now.

I must say, I was expecting this video to be good but it ended up being better than I thought. If I had to choose a fav part in the entire video, it's probably the last 5 minutes, mainly the part that mentioned that when Luz feels ready to give up, her friends and those she's helped are there to give her a lending hand. It really goes to show that even when she's going through trying times, she's never alone as she'll have her friends and loved ones there to help her every step of the way. Who knows how here journey will end once the series finale premieres in the next 5 days, but I know that it'll be good as TOH has impressed me so much that I can't remember the last tv show I had seen that its entirely was great on its own.

I can relate to Luz so much, especially towards the end of her character development and the end of the series. I always rejected the help of other people because I didn’t want the people around me to get hurt. I also did this because I was uncomfortable in the world around me and felt like I couldn’t ‘make it work.’ I worked instead to help the people around me, but never though to help myself… Eventually, I was the one who needed saving.
Seeing the 3rd season almost broke me 💀. I was bawling 😭; covering my face! Not because the story was getting sad (I have trouble expressing my emotions sometimes haha…) but because of how relevant the messages presented in the show are to my current life.
I recently started accepting help from my parents and communicating with them, trying to resolve the issues I have created for myself. I always had a choice, and I look back on that one bad decision I made after seeing the error of my ways.
I’m keeping this ambiguous because I am NOT telling the world my personal life story! But I feel like people can relate to the issues Luz must face in seasons 2 and 3… because I definitely do 😢 💜 🖤💚
I’m grateful for what The Owl House has been, even if the story fell off the path the writers wanted it to follow. I’m truly grateful 👍💯

Bro, I love this. Luz is such a great character because she's confident, happy and basically just made everyone who she met life's better. Even the guilt, doute, and depression she felt from her conflict with Camila and even Belos acted as really good and compelling development in the end, and you really can understand WHY she feels the way that she doses (At least for me) and is even better for it when she opens up to her loved one about it. An INCREDIBIE example of Character Regression and Writers Journey done *right*. I'm just glad she got her happy ending she deserves once it was all over. :)

    Hi Kasrium,
So -- I've been subscribed to you for some time now. This video popped up a few weeks ago in my CZcams feed. I started listening to it in the car . . .
The Owl House really screwed me up. It forced me to look at a number of things in my life. I first heard about it in September 2021. Among other things, it forced me into counseling ever since then. TOH really, really hit me hard. When I started counseling, I told my counselor I felt "broken."
This video was spot on. It put into words the things I felt about Luz' progression, but didn't have the vocabulary to express. And your use of the word "shattered"? Well, I told my counselor a few weeks ago I'd heard the word "shattered" and she agreed 100% it was a better word to describe me than "broken." The Owl House literally shattered me mentally and emotionally, but I've been picking up the pieces, and I'm doing so much better in life ever since.
Your video left me in tears, and I thank you. Your explanation behind the hero's journey -- I'd never heard of it. Absolutely fascinating. I also listened to the video of the worst vs best episode, comparing OUaS and KKKOHD, and you explain what else Luz got besides a girlfriend. These days, anything that improves someone's mental health or self-view chokes me up, and that video did as well. I'm unspeakably grateful the world is focusing on mental health now. I had no idea how bad mine was until i could check off multiple times where, yep, I relate directly to Luz.
You've asked if we would be interested in other videos about Amity, Luz, Eda, and others as characters. I will gladly watch/listen to any further videos you want to make about TOH. And I have several queued up waiting to watch.
Thank you very kindly for your work.

We have to do it like Critical role and save it by crowdfunding our series. Critical role is an American web series featuring a group of professional voice actors and actors playing Dungeons & Dragons. The series first aired live on Twitch in March 2015 after much of the first campaign was played privately. Critical role then had the idea from their role-playing campaign for a real one 22-minute animated special titled "The Legends of Vox Machina". The team initially pitched the special to traditional media studios but had little to no success. They then launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the special. They wanted $750,000 to produce the special.
The Kickstarter launched March 4, and within 40 minutes, the community gave them $1 million. By 5 p.m., the community smashed through the original stretch-goals, giving the project $3 million.
“The target was $750,000, but that was because we thought we might hit it,” Travis Willingham, Critical Role CEO and cast member, stated in their eighth Kickstarter update on March 7. Dungeon master and cast member Matthew Mercer added that they hoped they’d “hit it by the end of the campaign.”
After reworking their plan for the campaign, they changed the project from a four-part special, to a complete 10 episode season. The first two episodes would follow the original arc for the special, with the last eight following an arc in their original campaign.
However, funding all 10 would take $8.8 million. On April 4, the community heeded the call. During the first half of their regular stream after a week-long hiatus, the community raised $400,000 to ensure they would get that 10 episode series they wanted.
As of April 9, the project stands at $9,199,756 with 66,634 backers and nine days left. When the campaign closed, it was one of the most quickly funded in Kickstarter history, and was the most funded Kickstarter for TV and film projects.
In the end, they reached $11.4 million with 88,887 backers. More everything enough to produce a 10 part series. Amazon Prime then took over the series and ordered a two-season, 12-episode run. The arrangement also includes a first-look deal with Critical Role to develop additional series.
With the same method we can also save series like Amphibia , The Owl House, Gravity Falls, Star vs the Forces of Evil. As mentioned, the Kickstarter campaign for Legends of Vox Machina raised $11.4 million fromm a total of 88,887 backers. Doing the math, each backer deposited $128. I'm sure the fandom around this series can do that too.
Take Amphibia for example, I tried to find information about the production costs on the internet but couldn't find anything. All I could find was an old Gravity Falls reddit post that estimated the production cost for one episode was $500,000. Critical role had 11.4 million available for their series, so each episode costs about 1.1 million. Since I don't have exact information about the production costs of Amphibia, I can only estimate them. However, based on the quality of The Legends of Vox Machina, I would estimate that it costs well under 1.1 million per episode.
So I'm estimating the cost of producing one episode of Amphibia at $750,000. According to this, a season with 20 episodes would cost 15 million. As we saw, Critical role brought together 88,887 backers to raise $11.4 million, with each backer donating an average of $128. According to the Matt Braly Twitter account, he has 218,982 followers. We can assume that the majority of them are fans of Amphibia. Let's assume that 200,000 from within would support a Kickstarter campaign. In that case, everyone would have to donate an average of 75 US dollars to raise the sum of 15 million.
It is therefore quite possible to use crowdfunding to finance a new season of a spin-off series or a crossover in order to continue the series. We could also ask Disney because we pre-finance the series. For example, we want full 22-minute episodes, not two 11-minute episodes in a row. As I mentioned above, Critical role has an arrangement with Amazon that allows them to continue to have significant influence over the series. I would like to copy a text from an article here that I already copied from my previous comment above.
“The Legends of Vox Machina” isn’t the only entertainment based project smashing records through crowdfunding. “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” a film project that revived the original show, ended their campaign with $5.76 million and Netflix picking up the series.
Entertainment other than film also follow this trend. “Goodnight stories for Rebel Girls,” a children’s book series, previously held the title of fastest funded project on kickstarter - earning their goal of $40,000 in 30 hours - and ended their campaign with $675,614. Along with the critical success of “The Legends of Vox Machina,” these projects and the overwhelming support for them illuminate just how viable crowdfunding can be in creating entertainment.
A trend is brewing in the industry: give the power back to the consumers to pick the entertainment they wish to consume. Coupled with the popularity of streaming services over major media networks, it’s easy to see that the entertainment field is beginning to shift away from traditional media towards a new and exciting partnership between creators and consumers.
As an avid consumer of online content (including that of Critical Role) seeing projects funded by a community in support of their favorite creators thrills me to no end. I felt for a long time that the mainstream entertainment industry has been out of touch with the audiences and communities that flock to the screens. However, online content made by smaller creators who have a close tie with I their fanbase can lead to better content made by bigger budgets and an end product that services the wants and needs of not only the fans, but also the creator. I believe that we need more of these partnerships to revamp the entertainment industry and give new people the opportunity to release their creativity and provide people with content they want to see.
Fanbases are powerful entities that breathe life into the entertainment industry and would easily do their part to aid the creators they love. “The Legends of Vox Machina” is just one example of what a world of community supported content can create.
I think that the community around the series Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Star vs the Forces of Evil, and The Owl House gives up far too quickly and Disney simply accepts decisions instead of doing something about it. Unfortunately, I can't start a Kickstarter campaign myself because I'm from Germany and it's very difficult to start a Kickstarter campaign in the USA from here. But I would be willing to make my financial contribution should the community pull themselves together to organize crowdfunding. If Disney doesn't recognize the potential of its series, then we have to take action to change that. The first step to that would be discussion in the fandom on the subject.
If we can spread the idea far enough through the fandom it will reach people in the community who know how to crowdfund or anyone who knows who can and can take the lead. It would be best if FootofaFerret and The Roundtable picked this up. They both have over 1 million subscribers and if they were to crowdfund it would definitely mobilize the entire community. If you or other CZcams channels picked up the story and uploaded videos on the subject, a lot would be gained.
Also, someone should ask Critical Role for help. They know how to organize a crowdfunding and could also help with the negotiations with Disney. We could hold more crowdfundings at intervals to save the series or also combine the series The Owl House, Amphibia and Gravity Falls into a crossover series as desired in the community to save everyone together. Assuming Alex Hirsch, Dana Terrace and Matt Braly were willing to combine the series. These series are only dead if we let them.

Wow, I can really see how much work you put into this video! It is a great analysis of Luz's character and the people around her.
I think the writing of Luz was always extremely well done, it really shows that she thought, as a young and imaginative girl, that she found her fantastical bubble where she can have adventures and friends without consequences, until the realization hits and she wanders in a real and dangerous world full of people that she has an effect on. It gets very serious with Belos and the moment she talked with her mother. Suddenly, her dream became hard hitting reality - she can't escape from herself anymore.

Beautifully and meaningfully written. Im literally in tears because you exquisitely expressed this show through masterful exploration and understanding of the craft. You defined the feelings and experiences of this show in a way that brings a new understanding to what we as the audience had come to perceive yet not comprehend. Well done!

And the fact that this show does this... that it uses the people Luz helped to come back around and help her; perhaps most importantly... that Camilla in the end comes around and provides the last push Luz needs... that is one of the parts that had me in absolute tears. This show is an absolute gem, and Disney made a very, very bad call ending it early.

Oh something I just realized that shows how Belos knew she was coming from the jump/ proof that he is human all the way in season 1; is that only humans can get into the hoard of taken items, so either Belos knew she would be eager to help Eda with how eager she was to help him, or that he wanted to be the only one able to access it, mini theory but a fun detail if it’s true
