Out of all the CZcams DJ’s, you sir are my favorite all around. You do such a great job with getting everyone out on the dance floor and playing great songs. Way to go!
There are DJs who thinks they are the shit the likes of Rick Webb, DJ Barr, Nick Spinelli & DJ Justin etc. Yeeha their mixing & transition is awesome but they just cant compete with this OG, this DJ absolutely killed it without being a show pony...you sir is the definition of a wickedly awesome DJ, you put these young DJs to shame!
I really enjoyed your video!! I love your playlist 🎉and the chemistry that you have with the students!! I’m sharing this with my new DJs and letting them know this is a good example of a prom DJ!! Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Omg so glad I found this….. I’m starting to feel old when I do high school events, but I get it done. You look about my age and you are still getting it done! Man I love djing this gives me such energy for next season. Also I’m 100% stealing that cha cab into 7 nation army mix!!! That’s was fire
You really do your job with love and a lot of passion! It's great to see someone enjoy giving so much of themselves! I like your choice of energetic music for a young audience. I will send you an email😊
Love that you use the sennheiser system for wireless transmission to other speakers. Nice one, my dude! Got to get you back on the DJ Round Table Show soon. Good work sir.
Bit late to watching this video, but as someone who is starting Mobile djing at a young age this is inspiring to watch, knowing the energy of the songs and when to play them, even like you dance moves. Keep it up my friend!
Great event! That dance floor got a workout! Questions: Did you personally feel like your sound system was enough? Did you plug into standard 15amp wall outlets? How long was the open dance? TIA
Hey thanks! totally was enough. I hit limit on the subs a bit but thought the sound was balanced and great for the dance floor even when packed. I used 3 separate (standard) circuits - one for a set of 2 subs + 1 top, a second for a set of 2 subs + 1 top, and a third for my lights + booth + center fill. I used a 4th and 5th circuit for the side fill speakers . Open dance was 3 hours (7pm-10pm), but I started at 6pm for dinner / background tunes.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures Good to know. I always worry about tripping breakers when big sound is provided in venues like that. Shame they didn’t let you dim or turn off the lights as it seemed bright in there
They basically danced to every single song Absolutely amazing job they had a lot of fun Your kid is gonna be the talk of the dance right here. I don’t get the hip hop and high school kids though.
@smiletonesDJAdventures ....dj this was amazing, I had to subscribe, I wish you added a track list, I am trying to learn some of these new hits, I could not shazam them, the video transition was too fast.... keep doing your thing. If you add a track list do it tonight please.....
My son is getting into DJing and he loves your videos. There was a mix that you played. About 6:53 into it. Sounds like a mix of Fat Bottom Girls mixed with another beat. He wants to know what that song is or the best you mixed in. He’s currently learning to mix so he’s intrigued by that specific beat and mix. If you don’t mind sharing I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks I also sent you an email request about maybe sharing your playlists as well. He would love that.
The answer is complex but in general -- legally you can play whatever you want for private events. When an event is open to the public, you or often the venue has to license the music you play
Fantastic DJ performance controlling all the scenario and knowing the kids vibes. 🎉 By the way where did you find the colored knobs on you DDJ-1000 ? It looks awesome
Where is this located? NONE of the students at our high schools would like any of this music. It's great and works great for my weddings but our kids are SO picky.
Northern Cincinnati, OH. Actually bro my best strat for school dances is to give the students a Google form beforehand for requests, and then I can prep for the individual school’s culture / favorite jams. I of course apply some judgment - songs that are low energy but good I play during dinner, or during slow dance time, or skip altogether. I use their suggestions and then add my own that I think would work based on their taste, and of course drop in some remixes to freshen up some of the tunes. Then during the dance I say that we don’t take requests live because the playlist had to be preapproved. Assuming the school admin agrees with the strat - it works great! Works well to keep focused on my mixing and playing.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures Thanks for that info. So, I do the same thing, but I have an app that the kids receive ahead of time to put in the music they want. During dinner I do basically the same thing so no issues there. But the songs they ask for are nothing like what is asked of you. Here are some examples: Freak Hoe - Speaker Knockerz; Looking For the Hoes - Sexyy Red; All Dat - MoneyBagg Yo; Pay Up - Poo 1hunnid; OD Crashin - Baby kia; Yeah Glo! - Glorilla; Let Em' Know - Bryson Tiller; Baby Steppa - No fighting ---- and the list goes on. The problem, in my opinion, is that all of these songs ARE approved by the principal and staff. They basically tell me, "Play whatever they want." This goes against my beliefs and so that is why I only play one or two proms a year even though we get requests for a dozen or so. Now, in reality, we are really a wedding DJ company and we do 100 or so weddings each year. No issues there; easy to do and much better. The schools, though, are much harder because it goes against our brand and standards. I guess it just depends on what part of the country you are in. My sister company is in Tennessee, and they do a lot of proms because they are never asked to play anything explicit or inappropriate. Thanks for responding!
Nice work. Just take care of your back, your kid may be in high school but you arent anymore. Take care of lifting and weight restrictions I got back problems with a herniated disk doing events like that 5 years ago.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures yeah do you know how much an MRI costs out of pocket? At the time i had the lame ass Obama Care and it was like $1200.
