Almost all the government in San Fransisco should be ousted.
Everyone in San Francisco should be voted out. It's up to the voters in the City to do their part. Business as usual over the last two decades has led to this point. Breed talking tough now, should've been that way from the start.

That was a very strange reaction from the Mayor, responding on emotion and not logic. Anyone can see what's going on in the streets, and it's all races, of all backgrounds. This is alarming coming from a "leader." Not a good look. She needs to be removed ASAP, along with DA Price.

When in trouble pull out the race card? There was nothing that that man said to her was racist or condescending. All he asked her to do is her job. When mayor Lee died and she became interim mayor, there were many on the council who didn't want her to become the next mayor. Now I completely see why.
To be fair, my understanding is that it’s the white supervisor who brought up race first, saying the Mayor/police’s actions disproportionately impact people of color. The black mayor, working with a black Chief of Police, responded that the white supervisor shouldn’t claim to understand what’s actually best for people in these situations and that they don’t need a white savior pretending to know their situation.
Honestly I get her point of view. For every person screaming about “disproportionately impacting BIPOC”, there are also those who understand that enabling drug use isn’t actually what’s best for these individuals or the community.
I mean we’ve literally got a black police chief and black mayor whose sister died of an overdose accused of targeting communities of color by white supervisors. It’s the mayor who needs to be called out for bringing up race?

If everyone is involved in this business, that's why they protect them. Look for the case of the director of the San Jose police union, Joanne Marian Segovia. The leaders of San Francisco are also in that business and should be investigated and put in jail.

Look up "Joanne Marian Segovia" she was a police union director in SJ and recently busted for importing and smuggling fentanyl and other opioids, using her computer at the Police Station, shipping them to her house. Then blames her housekeeper.

@@Feminichole it takes more than just treatment, they have to address their living situation their life, their finances, the reasons they use in the first place, what are they trying to escape from its not enough to say go get clean, and yeah its their life its sad, but addiction shouldn't be criminalized, these people are suffering if they commit crimes in furtherance of their addiction then maybe yes do what you're saying get treatment, and some kind of program to get their life situated or maybe face jail time. I don't think we should help people by any means necessary. Like if someone wanted to end their life, I don't know if strapping them down and force feeding them is better. its a super sad situation and theres no easy answers, but she seems to be ignoring the advice of health experts and going to prison might help some people get clean, but for many its a temporary fix for people who aren't the addict. That addict is still going to suffer and even more so being in jail/prison where they wont be treated well, be in constant danger, withdraw maybe die anyway and likely go back to the same lifestyle right after as nothing substainal has changed in their lives. This is part of life and if we start locking up "undesirables" because we don't want to see them do we have to lock up all the mentally ill non drug addicts? alcoholics? is that a solution? All the poor people who can't find a place to stay or a way to make a life how others do? Just because its inconvenient for us to see them beg or makes us feel some kind of way. I'm not totally against what you're saying with the offer treatment or punishment but treatment without substantial help to improve their situations I don't think will help as many people as we'd like but being a inconvenience is w/e but if you're robbing people or stealing to fund your habit then yeah I guess, that's going to be a necessary thing

Supervisor Dean Preston lives in a nice place without drug addicts at the doorstep. He can care less. He wants to spend more money on programs to save people. San Francisco spends over 500 million per year. Supervisor Dean Preston rather create programs to pay off his friends and buddies, (at the same time accusing other people of not caring), very manipulative. Not one homeless person or drug addict or abused person have got benefit from that 500 million. Of course, Supervisor Dean Preston and his buddies got their share and live in nice big homes, laughing all the way to the bank.

SF's reputation is in tatters. It's unknown if they'll recover if at all. So sad! RIP to my once favorite city by the bay! What a waste!

The most important thing should be to get them housed; either monitored tiny home communities or overnight pod rentals ($10 or voucher) with locking door, charger, in monitored lots. Living on the streets causes survival mode, which makes it difficult to get off drugs/alcohol. Tiny home communities would offer them a sense of community; many users don't have supportive family or friends.
It's San Francisco. They're already packed to the gills. There's no room or money to support all these junkies.
