- The 2023 Trentham Gardens offered many gorgeous classic cars, one of my favourites being this Invicta Black Prince, with a Frisky bubble car in tow!
Where else could you see these two cars at once?!
In this video I chat with the owner of this beautiful and incredibly rare 1940s Invicta, exploring its history, specs and unique aspects!
If you liked this then make sure to look out for my Trentham Gardens full show video, and take a look at the channel homepage for past car show visits, many of which feature interviews like this one.

Thanks for this special look at at a very special and amazing car. Great opportunity for a chat with the owner.
Beautiful car, a credit to its owner who oversaw a top restoration, being enjoyed and shared. Hoping you can update to 4K soon Harley, you do find some amazing cars. 👍
That's the plan!
I love that he takes his dog in it and tows with it too. 😁
Well done Harley - your owner interviews are brilliant.
I was surprised to see it was Surrey registered, I thought a car with that standing would have been London Registered.
But when the owner said Virginia Water Surrey, that was and still is a very weathy area.
Very enjoyable video, thank you.
I loved the car and the way you interviewed so confidentially. What a find! I have seen a racing Invicta but never, ever a saloon -nor any British car with such gorgeous lines - perfect in every way. Well done. A most enjoyable video!

Pause at 7:26 for the engine description. There is a link between the sports limousine and the microcar behind it: Friskys were made by Henry Meadows Ltd (Wolverhampton), who also designed and manufactured the engines in the Invictas. This version is a 3-litre straight six, allegedly with triple carburettors, though I find it difficult to believe you can feed three carbs out of that rather small air intake filter.
A fascinating, beautiful and technically advanced car for its time. I suppose they were just too expensive.
Love the video, what a beautiful car and so rare, i enjoy your interview of the very kind owner nice man ,very well done once again ,look forward to the next one , thanks
Thanks for watching
Interesting interview Harley. Thanks
Hi Harley im glad that you have a good eye for the old car's like me they have so much character to them Harley Martin 👍👍
Good one Harley and interesting as well, cheers
fascinating car, according to a book i have from 1974 "british cars of the late forties", the 1948 invicta drophead coupe cost £3890 and superseded the saloon model which was available to special order.the cars had brockhouse turbo torque converter transmission giving infinitely variable gear ratios,i think all these cars had this so possibly a conversion to manual on this example.
I saw this at Trentham Gardens in 1999. It was certainly not so good as it is in the video and I wondered if it might just one day fade away as some old cars do. It is really good to know it is still with the same owner!
Henry Meadows built the Invicta engine as well as the Frisky on tow The gearbox on the Invicta must have been changed. As far as I know all of the cars had a fluid flywheel
First class video Harley and a fascinating subject. Your chat with the very charming owner is again good, intelligent and confident. The owner taking time to go through the car details is commendable , what a nice guy he is. I have never heard of an Invicta so completely new to me.
Your videos are always so interesting to watch.🔥
That's a fantastic find, and a very nice owner who had the time to discuss the car with, Very good interview by you. young man. Have a great New Year and keep up the good work. Bob
Really interesting video, Hatrley - well done!
Well done Harley - that was a brilliant interview. What a stunning car, the only one in the world ! I wonder how much money has been lavished on it over the years to get it back to that standard. Thanks for making a special video about it - it certainly deserved it. Take care 🙂
That was a joy Harley. What an incredibly beautiful car. Certainly would love to see (or own) it in the flesh so to speak. That was a nicely conducted chat allowing him to speak. Nice chap.
Well done H 😊
Great video Harley, you got the owner to open up about his pride and joy without any persuading. Look forward to future interviews with owners.
Hi Harley i had to watch your video. Stunning motor car. It must be of value. I would be nice to sit in the back and be chauffeur driven.
