ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಅರಸರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಮಹಾರಾಜರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮುಮ್ಮಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದಂತಹ ಅನುಭವ ಆಯಿತು. ಏಕೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೊರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಬನ್ನಿ ಇಂದಿನ ವೀಡಿಯೋದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಯೋಣ.
ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಮಹಾರಾಜರು ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನ ಶ್ರಿಕಂಠೇಶ್ವರನ ಪರಮ ಭಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಮ್ಮಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅವರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ರಾಜಗೋಪುರ, ಹೊರ ಆವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ದೊರೆಗಳು ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಯುಗಗಳಿಂದ ಪೂಜೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಈ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯು ಜೀರ್ಣಾವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಬೇರೊಂದು ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮಾಡಿ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಶಿಲ್ಪಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪಂಚಲೋಹದಿಂದ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಸೇವಕರು ಮಹಾರಾಜರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಂತೆ ಪಂಚಲೋಹದ ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಲ್ನಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದರು. ಕತ್ತಲೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿಗೆ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಕರು ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಂಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇತ್ತ ಮಹಾರಾಜರು ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಜುಂಡೇಶ್ವರ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಬದಲಿಸುವ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯಾ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿನ್ನೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿದೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ. ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ಈಗ ನೂತನ ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ದೇವಾಲಯ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸು ಎಂಬ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಂಡ ಮಹಾರಾಜರು ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಪಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿದಿಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಲಿ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಕಟ್ಟಪ್ಪಣೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಂತರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಒಂದು ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ತಮಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ನಂಜುಂಡೇಶ್ವರ ಎಂದು ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
This temple is also related to the kings of Mysuru state. In other words, it was like the experience of Swami appearing in a dream and warning the Maharaja of Mysuru, Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeya. Let's know why Swami warned the rulers in today's video.
The Maharajas of Mysuru were great devotees of Srikantheshwara of Nanjangud. During the time of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar, the construction of the temple's Rajagopur and outer enclosure started. Once the rulers visit the temple and see Chandrasekhara idol which has been worshiped for four yugas.
This idol is in a state of digestion and returns to the palace with the resolve to install another festival idol. Similarly the sculptors are appointed and ordered to make a beautiful Utsava idol out of panchaloha. He orders the servants to take the idol to the Nanjangud temple.
Servants took Panchaloha's Utsava Murti on foot as ordered by the Maharaja. As it was dark, near Nanjanagudu the servants stay with Utsav Murti. When Maharaja was sleeping in the palace, Nanjundeshwar appeared in his dream. Are you thinking of changing me? As per my command, it feels as if a command has been given to build a temple at the place where the new Utsav Murthy is now and enshrine it there.
The Maharaja immediately woke up and called the servants and issued an order that the palanquin should not travel further wherever it was. Later Swami built a magnificent temple at the place indicated and installed Shivalinga and Utsava idols. As he was pleased in his dream, he renamed this Swami as Sri Prasanna Nanjundeshwar and offered his devotion.
