@@BTheInstaller got the c4 65inch with the s95tr
There's that saying in Fight Club..."the things you own end up owning you"
The one thing to consider with a massive 98" TV is that it becomes like a massive piece of equipment/furniture that you can't just easy move, get rid of, replace...etc. You can probably unload a 65" OLED on a used market but no one is buying that 98" TV in the future. You have to pay someone to take it.
So im not saying not to get that TV but realize it's not just about price or quality vs quality. Some guys have fun with installs but others may not like dealing with some of the things that come with the ownership of a TV that big. So just be cognizant before hitting the buy button that you will need to deal with moving this TV in the future and it's not like dealing with a smaller OLED.
This is still one of the reasons why I think projectors have a place in the future.
This is a great point. These huge tvs are a pain in the ass to move, and I'll make that part of my buying advice going forward. 👊
Yeah, after 77", it's Projector time for me.
@@BTheInstaller That's why normal consumers shud not or don't buy TVs beyond 65inches.
@@I9IIEIIYIIEIIS 77 inches still needs two men to handle or install
Watched a lot of videos and ended up getting the 85” X90l for $2k, extremely happy with it, amazing tv
Determine the biggest size that your comfortable looking at where you sit, then get the best display in that size. If cost is an issue purchase the prior year model or finance the purchase.
Great video topic. You don’t see this much. At least I haven’t when I’ve been researching tvs to death for like 3 months. This is a great video for people with fixed budgets. I am hovering around $2k+ for my next tv and have been looking at the lg OLED 77” c3/c4 vs the 85” Samsung neo QLED. This video helps put it in perspective. Thank you.
Interesting video and I do appreciate it. I wonder, though, how many homeowners have the wall for these big (gigantic) TVs.
I mean, the average person maybe not the 98" ... some houses out here in San Diego are ridiculous, so I've installed some on big walls. 85" is normally considered really big.
The bigger the tv the higher the source's bitrate needs to be. OLED is better for a larger tv.
Bitrate shows up in the clarity of distant faces needing more subtle information, OLED is better at this.
Sony Bravia 8 77" $3299
What about the TCL 98QM751? I was going to get the TCL 85QM851, but the 98QM751 (2024 model) was on sale for under $3000 and went for that instead (I currently have a 2016 Vizio M series that is moving to another room).
Just went all out in june 75” bravia 9 bravia 9 soundbar (amazing) sa sw3 sub and rs5 rear speakers i may never leave my couch again Sony has completely transformed home theater Just incredible sound And tv is best i have ever seen Luckily money no object as i am in Nvda since $87 pre split
Awesome!!!
I love my bravia 9 85" 4 days now.
haha I still have my 55 inch Mitsubishi and I'm in much better than you with Nvidia. You have to be prudent.
nvda ??????
I had to make this decision recently. A 75 U8k over a 65 C3. I chose the U8 and I’m totally happy with it and I wound up with a couple of hundred bucks left over. I will definitely go bigger over better next time as well
I went today to my local Best Buy.
Holy shit those LG OLED’s are insanely ahead of anything I saw. I did see the X90L 85 inch in person finally and it was outstanding. The color and clarity is the best TV I’ve seen (outside that LG OLED) and I was sold on it.
I am trying to pick between Bravia 9 85" or 77" A95L.
Bravia 9 is my recommendation but regardless of which one you buy make sure to get it calibrated. Lately from what I have seen and experience the sony tv on on all models and sizes come with poor white balance and mid colors like are 80-90 % dci-p :( for tvs of these caliber, you should just get a calibrated
@@Dark-wt4ze I have a friend that is a calibration expert. that's covered. My A80J looks amazing thanks to calibration. I want something brighter. my a80j will be a bedroom tv
@@mgaming7 my recommendation will still be the bravia 9 due to the new mini led technology. if you happen to use the s-center channel, just know the speakers were upgraded with the bravia 9 with voice zoom 3. Rtings did a review of them. If you happen to use it a compatible sony sound bar you will get better performance with those speakers. Btw the 85” bravia 9 is just going to be more immersive. You won’t notice the blooming at all plus you don’t have risk of burn in with the bravia 9.
Relevant video. Im struggling at the 77" size. Wanting bigger due to larger and wide seating arrangement, but larger oled is too expensive. Not sure if I would be happy with 85" mini LED.
I was in the same situation as you, but things have changed a little since the mini leds have came out and are cheaper and more widely available since I bought , but I went with the 77' LG b2, it was around $1600 and struck the right balance of price quality and size for my needs. I'm satisfied with my purchase so far, sometimes I think I wish I would have raised my budget about $500 for the C2 for a little more OLED brightness wow factor but I'm happy with my purchase. 77'' is still a big TV no matter how you cut it, but depends on your room and your set up of course
@@saratj1 how far do you sit from the screen?
@@Icipher4 around 14ft
get the LG qned90t in 86inch mini led . best bet for yuh in 2.5k to 3k bucks
I went bigger over better. The size difference is definitely more noticeable to most people. Few will notice little improvements.. Oh, you got a new tv? Looks about the same…. WOW! Look at the size of that tv ! You choose…
Hey B, would you buy a 65 inch C4 for 200 less than a 77 inch C3? Bedroom tv.
Any ideas about their reliability???????
Just deciding on a new TV with this exact question. Currently switching between the LG C3 in 65“ for 1450€ and the Hisense U7 75“ for 1250€. What do you think which one should i go for. I currently have some 720p 43“ TV so ether one will be an huge upgrade.
I'm looking at the 100' U76N. I have a 55 inch OLED C1 now and enjoy the picture quality, but now i want to have a theatre like experience for a TV.
That is a major size upgrade. It will be an adjustment but most people will be amazed. I have only seen one comment where a guy jumped up in size and sort of regretted it that it looked much softer ... good luck
Deciding between a 85 inch B9 or a 98 inch QM851G.. Around the same price... Torn but really want the 98 size.. Have an 85, so hard to spend for the same size.. For me the bigger the better. I just don't know anyone with personal experience with TCL and it's quality.. Not picture quality, but will it last? Will I have to many problems that negate the bigger size.. We know the quality of Sony.. What to do..😊
Ive learned more than 10 years ago that picture quality is better than size. My brother bought a panasonic plasma full hd 42" and I bought a samsung 51" "hd". And when i bought i thought 9" is a lot, and it is. But after every time i watched my tv and his it was such a big difference that ive learned my lesson. Now i prefer a 55" oled tv than take huge led tv.
If your running the tv 📺 15 to 20 hours each day,,, Top Quality, OLED or QLED what would last longer ?
Nice video keep up the good work B the installer
For me quality over size
Quality doesn't work if you are far from the TV.
Quality always first
@@airixxxxsame for a sh** large tv
@@ot4-rising567 none of the options showed are shit TVs
@@airixxxx yea I’m not talking about the tv’s shown in the vid, we are trying to decide upon quality over size.
For you personally would you rather spend 2,900 on a 98in TCL or 4,000 on a 65in A95L?
It's a tough one but I saw a 65 inch TV at an AirBnB that was the same distance as my 55 inch TV and it's quite overwhelming. The sofa was 11 feet away.
We were watching the Euro (soccer) and the benefits of a 55 inch were quite obvious.
in what way?
@@gosman949 Are you asking what the benefits were?
I can see the entire image of the field in my focal part of my eye which means I miss nothing.
The 65 inch TV is 40% larger but the 55 inch is 40% more detailed per pixel since content quality is the same. What my focal area sees is significantly better on a 55 inch than a 65 inch. Now if 65 inch TVs got 40% higher quality content, this would have been okay but content bitrate doesn't change based on TV size.
That plus the AirBnB had a cheap Samsung with all kinds of chromatic abberations and no Reality creation like a Sony so the field looked probably half as detailed and almost like the grass was artificial 🙂
If we are talking mini LED and OLED only, I choose size over quality always. No point in paying for quality if you can't see it from afar.
Wait for Prime day deals July 16,17.
TV purchasing is very confusing this kind of guide is really helpful thanks 👍
I'm glad it helps. Sometimes less is more. I try to look at it from buyers views. 👊
Constructive criticism. Bigger vs better video has been done before. I think a lot of us have been convinced to go bigger. I’ve seen lots of comments wondering how the 98 and above tvs directly compare this year. Hopefully those comparisons are coming soon.
What you need to know? Which Tvs are you thinking ?
@@BTheInstaller qm851, Sony x90l, Hisense u8, lg 89t, etc. I know they are huge so it’s hard to have a place to put them all. I’m basically in the 5 to 7 thousand range and I feel like a lot of others are as well. I feel the piece that a lot of reviews are missing is for the critical viewer wanting an option over projector and specifically how they would do in a theater room. And/or just how much the china factor in regards to processing, motion, bugginess, dimming control speed, etc, plays into things in a critical watching environment over getting the x90l for its processing and software but giving up on mini led.
I was wondering between the 98 inch TCL Q8 and the C4 83 Inch. Which one would you recommend?
Our wives don't want to go bigger. They are OK with 55 inch!
@ankushchowdhury5588 they're both really good. I prefer the 98" QM8 because it's so much bigger. And it's black levels are still great. The C4 is slightly sharper but the 15" size difference is better
2023 TCL Q7 or Qm8 or Hisense U7N 75in?
Hi B, just about everything you're talking about in this video has been going thu my head when trying to decide what to get. I've had my bravia 9 85" for 4 days now, and wow, I love this thing it was a beast hanging it up. The only thing I can't stand is the turn-on screen. I'm Used to my 6 year old samsung. Because I was used to turning on the TV, and it opened up on my samsung free channel, playing in the background until I would put something on. Thanks for your great videos.
How does this TV look in a house vs the Torch Demo mode they use at Best Buy? is it still as impressive?
I am trying to pick 85" bravia 9 or 77 A95L.
@mgaming7 hi, I don't think I've seen any blooming yet. I wish the A95L came in an 83 size. I've used my max, Paramount, and some good youtube hdr Demos. I had originally purchased an A80L 83" 2 weeks ago, but it had a bad panel and also had some audio Gremlins with my av receiver. So I'm truly extremely happy with the B 9.
@@mgaming7 same question here.
TCL qm7 or Hisense q7n 55” tv? Thank you
I bought the Hisense U7K when you reviewed it.
Hello, How is the performance and picture quality?
@@BassamAhmed-ei6du The picture quality out of the box is amazing. Once I calibrated it, the picture was really, really good. It performs to all my expectations. I bought it on recommendations from a few YT’bers who reviewed it!
But my theater room needs a bigger screen :). I have a 77 inch OLED Sony, LOVE IT!!!!!!!
hey b long time fan
whats ur fav tv this year so far?
Hisense u8 mini led 100inch dropped to $$2800 today. I have the Hisense u76 qled 100 inch on order for $2300. Should I switch to the u8?
The U8 is mini-LED. It's also brighter, so tough call. Definitely going to be better. $500 can also buy you a nice little sound bar and sub tho too.
@@BTheInstallerupdate - just switched to the u8 mini led 100 inch
Thanks for your videos
Where did you find this price?
Quality for sure though value factors in. I.e if LG has a TV almost as good as the competing Sony buy the price difference is justifiable then I would go with the Better value option
B .. when ru going to review the TCL 115 inch ..thxs..saw it on another channel ..like to get your opinion thxs again
I think we messed up by getting the 98" ... probably won't get the 115 now. But it's same but 20k
min. 4 men are needed to handle that giant
B - The TCL 98” Q6 WLED is showing on the BestBuy website for $2499 and not $1999 like you show in your video. I used your link too. What up?
Pricw goes up and down every 2 weeks
Im getting ready to buy a 85inch TCL s4 for $700 coming from an lg 43inch the TCL is the best bang for my budget im pretty stoked
Huge upgrade. As long as you have space and aren't 6' away, it should be awesome.
@BTheInstaller I have the whole living room wall and space but it was the now 699 price that I had to say yes
Can the Tablo plug into my Apple TV?
The app would need to be accessed on an OS. I'm not sure it works woth Apple TV but there is an app for iPhone.
Size is king. Far too many people have TVs too small for their viewing distance.
Figure out what size screen you need for a 40 degree viewing angle then buy what you consider to be the best technology you can afford around that size.
Unless you're rich oleds are too small for anything except bedrooms or tiny living rooms. Heck 100" LCDs are probably too small for a lot of people's living spaces.
Once you hit around the 4000 bucks price range if you shop around you can get the AWOL 3000 pro and a fixed 120" screen.
C3 77" or G3 65" which one would you pick ?
100% C3 77" if the space cqn handle it. So much more tv
@@BTheInstaller thanks C3 77" will be my first oled tv
@user-vi5yw5ic7m wow that is going to be awesome. Congrats for sure. 🎉
The bigger you go in size the better quality tv you need because the big screen is going to show up the artifacts and poor quality in the picture even more.
yep- the same with computer monitors. I don't see the all the fuss in "bigger is better"!?
exactly
Great video👍
Size matters ..... Thats what she said !!!!
It just depends on how much I can afford at the time of purchase. If I can afford the best then I’ll get that. If I can’t then I’ll get the best bang for my budget
Pruce quality,I like the u7 hisesnse 65 at $800
Yo B good camera man shit looks amazing on my Tv.😂😤🤝
Quality
I have a very large bedroom like you, probably 14 feet to tv, but I think my wife would kill me if I got a 77 inch tv in there. I'd love it though.
You open your wallet and go for both
I love these comparisons. I want to here more from the 98"-100" TV's. Is a sub $3000 huge TV great for movies, TV, CZcams fire stick watching ❓B I also wonder if saving more even for another year and getting that 5k TCL 98" is the ticket. I think 🤔 it was your video on it that blew my mind. The fact that that TV has the capability to be a lot brighter and have an overall better picture really makes me want it. I know I won't push that TV to be super duper bright so I believe the TV will last longer as it will be cruising at 75% or so of it's output potential. 👍😎
buy in 55 to 65inch TV with best quality . period .
Bigger
Ugh, 2500 is mid tier. 3000 and over is top tier
Are you saying "cost of tv" is that range?
☆☆
Easy. Choose the one that doesn't spy on you.
🙄
You’re silly. They all spy on us 😂
You know what B a big question I have and I keep forgetting to ask.🫨 I live in central California. Where can I go to see these 98"-100" TV's in person. I want to see if a $2k ish TV will as good for me as a 5k TCL ❓
