    Hi. I just found your channel and subscribed.
    I am similar age and started running 3 years ago. I did my first marathon last year and ran it in 3:48. I can only dream of running as fast as you but I am going to stay consistent and try to better my marathon time each year. 😊

    Just makes you realize, age is a number, so many people are now committing to their health in the 2nd half of life. Running my 4th marathon in May and hoping to break 3:15 and get a bib for Boston 2025. Seeing all these older runners posting gives me hope that my gains don't have to slow down and maybe sub 3hr will organically happen, without getting divorced. ;)

    You’re inspiring. I’m 47 and have run two marathons (4/2023 - 4:52:20) & (10/2023 - 4:01:35). I have another marathon in three weeks and am planning on 3:55:00. I’d like to qualify for Boston when I’m 50 (currently 3:25:00). I won’t actually go to Boston, it’s just a good goal that I think I can achieve. I’ll keep watching your videos for inspiration and training tips. Thank you!

    This is fascinating for me to see what is attainable. I'm 51 (88kg) and running 25-30M per week. My last half was an easy 127bpm and pace of 9:46/mi. I saw on your 100M week video that you run 124bpm and a pace of 7:33/mi. I've never taken the running too seriously but this has motivated me to try some more structured training to see if I can improve.

    • @global-runner
      @global-runner  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You definitely can improve! Don’t rush into it though - patience is key. And heart rate is individual for everyone but your 127bpm suggests you can go much faster over the half. I race around the 160 mark if that helps at all.
      Good luck! I’m glad my video nudged you a little! :)

    I will also break 2 hours 50 for the first time in just over two weeks and equalize your time goal in the next few years. In addition to your fantastic performance, the situations in your videos remind and motivate me extremely of my own experiences with aggressive dogs, for example in places where no one goes jogging or early morning hours and situations that no one would consider normal, including, like in this video, aggressive traffic situations that seem completely nonsensical make appear to go racing. Nevertheless, the work has to be done, I really like that and I will especially try to do hard long runs on a regular basis as you practice 😍🙌🏻💯👑🤝👍🏼

      This is a great question. I’m not an expert and food was always the last thing I worried about (stupidly). I used to be a real candy junkie but I’ve really tried to cut that out recently and have been trying to limit carbs (sensibly) but I don’t track them. Sources of protein are nuts and lattes! (I drink one or two coffees a day).

    The jump from 2:40 to 2:30 is big. You plan this within six months of each other? I like your ambition.
    Have you got the speed to tackle a sub 2:30 marathon ie 16 min 5km sub 33 min 10km and 71-72 HM pace. If the HM is stuck at around 73 long or 74min then not many examples out there of sub 2:30 marathoners. Off course a 75 min HM is a good basis with adequate mileage/endurance for a 2:40 marathon.
