This video gives you a good understanding of how to manually level the bed of a Creality Ender 6 3D printer! Instagram: / theprinthouseyt Discord: / discord
Yes! A dirty nozzle could have some remaining hard filament on the outside of the nozzle... Essentially leveling the bed to the hard filament and not the tip of the nozzle!
Thank you!! I'm glad you found it helpful. I have some more ender 6 content coming soon so stick around!! There's not a lot of ender 6 content on CZcams so I am trying to fill in the blanks!
My printer clogged and I need to replace my fan. Also when I heat it up it says -15 even though I set it to 200. How do I replace the wires for the temperature of the hot end.
The exact same issue you had just happened to me. I was leveling my bed and suddenly a big gap appeared. I thought i was going crazy or that the springs were bad on my bed. Glad you cleared it up for me that it is actually the motor. Is this normal? Also, thanks for the insight into leveling. I've been just leveling each corner once and thinking it was good enough. I am going to do it ten times on each corner now and hopefully my print will not be garbage this time!
I hope it helps for you!! You probably don't really need to do it ten times, but I do it as much as my patience allows. If you reach ten you're probably good. Just make sure to make very small rotations on the knob or else it'll make the other corners worse. The slower you print the less frequently you'll need to level the bed :) come back and let me know how it goes!!!!
I bro I'm new to 3d printing I'm planning to buy Ender 6 but many suggesting not to buy Ender 6 and go for cr 10 s pro v2 , or prusa I'm so confused ☹️ can you please give me a clear idea whether I can buy Ender 6 or not else can i buy which 3d for good performance
Could you please help me with the choice? I need something for semi commercial purposes (certain adapters and custom parts). So, given the same quality of print, extra pros for me would be faster printing and as little maintainance as possible. I was interested in Ender 3 S1 because I saw the auto leveling feature which would probably cut a lot of time. I can get it for $512 However, creality ender 5 PRO costs me only $377 which seems like a much better deal given the build is so robust, but the head doesn't seem to be as advanced as Ender 3 S1. Now, I can stretch my budget to get ender 5 PLUS for $600, which does have auto leveling feature, but for the same price I can get Ender 6 but I don't think it has that feature. Given these pros and cons, which one would you choose? My number one requirement will always be quality. But given the same quality, the second requirement would be speed. Unfortunately, I was unable to find good comparisons on print quality between these models. I have a feeling that there isn't much difference, so the main thing I'm paying for with more expensive versions is convenience and simplicity? Am I wrong?
My opinion is that given the correct settings, they will all produce the same quality parts. I also believe that all of these printers will print at the same speed. I have no time under my belt with the S1, but that printer might need to print a little slower because it is direct drive by default. Personally I think you should pick whichever printer you prefer in terms of looks/price/firmware/size. None of these printers will realistically perform faster or better unless you consider the ender 6. Depending on the geometry of your parts, the ender 6 can print marginally faster because it is a core xy machine, but you will need to modify the extruder/boden setup. The boden tube is so long that the ender 6 has retraction settings. Even still, the ender 6 is louder when it has high acceleration moves, so that is something to consider.
I’ve got multiple printers but this is my first Ender 5 Plus with bl touch, I’ve levelled my bed a dozen times, set myself to zero, work the bed over position to position over and over again till the bed is perfect, verniers, dial indicators the whole 9. When this thing couldn’t be any straighter, I do a test print, bed goes totally outta whack and prints nothing but spaghetti. What am I doing wrong? Ive tried with the auto bed levelling part on and off no different, gaps of 2.5 all the way to 7 & 8 right off the hop as soon as it starts printing … I can level the bed perfect drive it down 10 and up 10 and it’s totally messed up again
I had issues with a bl touch one of my 2 ender6s so I refreshed firmware and I don't have aux level anymore and my home is dead center. Any ideas? Thanks
I wonder if the creality firmware for bl touch changed? I will check it out. Maybe you accidentally put the wrong firmware on. I would try to flash the firmware again.
So I got a question. I just started 3D printing and I just put my ender 6 together last night. I downloaded the slicer that came with it and sliced a file to .12 mm layer thickness. But it didn’t seem to work right. And I have a lot of excess material coming out. Plz help
I do not have a perfect answer for you, but I would recommend raising the layer thickness. That is way too small. I'm not sure if a standard 0.4 mm nozzle is even physically capable printing at 0.12 mm layer lines. If it doesn't print well at 0.16 then let me know :)
Awesome video! Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions for getting the hotbed to get to it's home position? I cant get it to move, and everything is properly installed and connected.

@@ThePrintHouse haha yeah im not sure either but just trying to help a fellow printer lover out! im having trouble leveling thinking i need to take my z axis detector off or try lowering the screw on the back cuz my springs are loosey goosey when a piece of paper fits ever so gently in
@@CheifinKeif Ahh yes well thank you!! You might consider making all 4 of your bed screws as loose as possible and restarting. Turn each bed screw 2 times, going in a circle, until it begins to tighten up. I've found that sometimes the bed is actually not mechanically level which prevents the bed from being properly leveled for 3d printing. Also upgraded bed springs are very good
@@ThePrintHouse which upgraded springs do u recommend? i cant find any bigger than 35mm cuz my knobs are almost unwound and falling off when the nozzle is about a paper distance away from the bed
@@CheifinKeif I actually use silicon column mounts instead of springs. They're all so common and generic that finding the right size is for a particular printer is hard, but the silicon column mounts are super easy to cut and make smaller if you need them to be smaller. I needed 2 and then I used a razor blade to slice off tiny amounts of one of them until it was the size that worked best for me. You can do the same for springs, but it's a lot harder to cut springs.
I'm having a problem with my Ender 6. After doing the bed leveling I saw that I couldn't lower the front. When I tighten the screws, so that I could lower the build plate, It got tight and now I can't screw it anymore to lower it. I dont wanna keep forcing it because I'm scared to ruin the screw or the spring so I stopped turning the knob it. I'm not sure what to do now.

What you should do first is tighten all 4 screws on your print bed as tight as they can possible go. Once they are as tight as you can make them, the print bed should be the furthest place from the nozzle. At that point you can then try to loosen the screws one by one to level the bed! :)

Have you notice that the filament has problem sticking to the bed? I think i got a bad bed when i bought this machine...i had a difficult time getting it to stick but my friend that has creality cr10s has no problem. I tried many many times level the bed and changed the z level under printing with bad luck...I threw the creality bed and start use a glas bed with sugar and water mix. Now i have no problem printing and can often cure a old print with some extra sugar and water mix. I only use hot water as cleaning and don't use any chemicals...just taking a rag and dry it put it back and on with some sugar and water mix with a heated bed. Wating a few minutes and start printing. A good tip if you want to use less chemicals....otherwise it can be a good tip if you try printing other material that has a hard time to stick. Works with the most filament if the mixture is correct
That is an amazing idea. I have not heard of anyone using sugar and water. I might give that a try! I dont have any issues with bed adhesion unless I print parts with a very small surface area. I still always spray hair spray down once every 30 or 40 hours of print time for good measure.
@@ThePrintHouse No problem. It might help you with the smaller parts. After i bought my second printer i almost has zero problems with my prints. I bought a qidi tech max. If you can and want you should rebuild so you can use qidis flex plate. They are easy to use and are cheap comparing to other brands. I rebuild my other printer and damn what a good printing bed they have made. I highly recommend it over the sugar and spray method. You don't need to clean this bed so often. You need to get new upgraded (yellow) print bed springs. I am actually have a video on this topic coming out in the next 1-2 weeks. If you can wait I will explain everything in that video. I would recommend you get new bed springs immediately. It will make your print bed remain level for longer
@@Stormshot1998 you must already have upgraded screws. They come in varying lengths, you probably need to have longer ones on your printer. You should measure the length of the ones you have and get some that are slightly longer. I'm not sure exactly what size the ender 6 needs. I actually plan to add some to my ender 6 printers but haven't yet. I don't have a terrible issue with mine staying level, so that's why I haven't done it yet
Same thing with me.. the center point is too tight.. but it prints good... But one thing do you know how to tension the belts in ender 6.. all tutorials and the manuals are just saying make sure your belt is tight.. not how to do that
I have seen other people level in a similar pattern as well. I am usually very meticulous with my leveling because I dont want to have any problems with dragging the nozzle across the bed.
Can you please stop creating a fire hazard in the bottom .. It is really really bad and stupid to keep shit like that ... take the stuff out side in a metal bucket and throw 1 lit match in it .. then come and reply. This is like people charging LiPo batteries unattended and then don't get why the house burned down.
hahaha yes it is! I just scrape the parts off the bed into there. About once every few months I clean it out. It's much easier to do that then keep carry the extra plastic bits to a trash can every time I print :p

@@ThePrintHouse thx, it did!
@@dasheiligedonerhuhn sweet! I'm glad!!
Hey, nice video but, when I pressed the leveling button the nozzle moves but the bed does not move. When go in to move button every thing moves fine. Thank you
I know this is late, I am sorry. Have you modified your printers firmware?
I have figured it out already, but thanks for the reply
@@solaris5126 What was your solution? I am having what I think is the same problem. I reloaded the firmware and when I try to move the bed to home, it makes an error sound rather than the sound it makes when it is correct. Thanks
It's easy to print and switch to a other plate and start print again. Here you have a link...it's the old one i use. Don't know about the new one so i can't tell if it's any good www.aliexpress.com/item/4000089883721.html
@@ThePrintHouse It's the white bed you should choose if you are interested. So you need a magnetic surface if you want to use this qidi bed. Pls check some videos when they use the qidi tech max machine and you can see for yourself how good it is. It can easy print very small parts in PLA
Where did you find the webcam stand on the edge of your printer.
It is a custom designed mount for a Blink security camera. Would you like me to upload it to thingiverse? I can do that when I return from vacation if you want it :)
@@ThePrintHouse that would be great if you could please...and just link it with a reply.
@@waikryder6633 ok I will but unfortunately I don't have the stl with me right now on vacation. I will definitely do it when I'm home at the beginning of January
@@ThePrintHouse np ty!
Hey I hope this works for you, please let me know how you like it! www.thingiverse.com/thing:5184136
Buy Silicone Spacers, and a Trash Can :D
It really is lmao
My print bed seems to randomly come lose during a test print and I am back at stage 1 for the leveling.
You need to get new upgraded (yellow) print bed springs. I am actually have a video on this topic coming out in the next 1-2 weeks. If you can wait I will explain everything in that video. I would recommend you get new bed springs immediately. It will make your print bed remain level for longer
@@ThePrintHouse I have the orangish ones currently. The printer arrived yesterday.
where could I get the yellow springs?
@@ThePrintHouse found the springs but next 1 weeks sounds better 😂
@@Stormshot1998 you must already have upgraded screws. They come in varying lengths, you probably need to have longer ones on your printer. You should measure the length of the ones you have and get some that are slightly longer. I'm not sure exactly what size the ender 6 needs. I actually plan to add some to my ender 6 printers but haven't yet. I don't have a terrible issue with mine staying level, so that's why I haven't done it yet
Same thing with me.. the center point is too tight.. but it prints good... But one thing do you know how to tension the belts in ender 6.. all tutorials and the manuals are just saying make sure your belt is tight.. not how to do that
I know this was posted a long time ago, but an ender 6 belt tensioning video is on my list of videos to record soon! :)
@@ThePrintHouse Do iiit please :D
I've never seen such a dirty printer before! For shooting that could be cleaned inside?
I will certainly clean my printer more regularly for my future videos. I scrape the bits into there for convenience. Thank you for the suggestion :)
I level in an X pattern, then a [] pattern its much faster
I have seen other people level in a similar pattern as well. I am usually very meticulous with my leveling because I dont want to have any problems with dragging the nozzle across the bed.
Ender 6? You mean the trash can printer? :)
hahahah thats how I use it!
Im sorry mr evil bunny :/
The printer locks like a trash bin.
hahaha yes it is! I just scrape the parts off the bed into there. About once every few months I clean it out. It's much easier to do that then keep carry the extra plastic bits to a trash can every time I print :p
please clean your printer!!!!
Im sorry!!!! :(
and ffs read the instructions ... and fit the clamp on the head proper. You have it just lying flat chafing the cables.
I understand why you call yourself the evil Bunny 😂 At least evil and also correct about what you typing. The cable was the first thing i fixed before i started my first print ever...they will break over time
My printer was shipped like that and I never inspected it. I did actually notice that a few months ago and I fixed it haha
that bed was SOOO not level .hehe .
mine?
