Steven Russell-I said it before, and I'll say it again-Curly would never have had the stroke that he had if he hadn't copied his boss, Ted Healy, in the drinking department because of his obsession with his appearance (shaved dome). And all because he didn't like having to shave his head for the act because he felt like a little kid with his head shaved, because he felt that women would find him unappealing, even though he was popular with them all his life. I've been watching the Three Stooges films ever since I was a kid. I still watch them today, on the Tubi channel, and sometimes on CZcams. I also used to have a 45 RPM record of "The Curly Shuffle." (On the B side was a song called "Jump For Joy"; I don't remember the lyrics to that one, but I know the words to "The Curly Shuffle" by heart, because I've heard it so many times.) I like this video too. I remember a video that was similar to this one, except that some of the film clips were different. For example, when the lyrics that refer to Curly's "fat clone Joe" were played, they showed a clip, not of Joe Besser (who replaced the late "Shemp" Howard), like they showed here, but of "Curly Joe" DeRita, who replaced Joe Besser in the late 1950s, and remained a part of the team when they started making live appearances, starring in their TV cartoon show, and getting top billing in feature films. (Years before, when the original "Curly," who was actually Moe Howard's brother, Jerry, was a part of the team, the Stooges usually made guest or cameo appearances in features, a few of which had them accompanied by their former boss, Ted Healy, their first one being 20th Century-Fox's "Soup To Nuts" [1930], when Shemp was still the third stooge; this was a few years before he dropped out of the act, because of Healy's cruelty and drinking, and was replaced by his brother, Jerry/Curly.) One of the Stooges' cameo appearances with Ted Healy (and Curly as stooge number one) was "Hollywood Party" (1934), starring Jimmy Durante, and dozens of movie stars in cameos. One of them was another great comedy team, Laurel and Hardy, who appeared for a longer time than the Stooges and Ted Healy. There was one feature film from the late 1940s where the Stooges were co-stars with Shemp as the third stooge. I don't remember the title, though.
One thing i noticed with this song: Despite having multiple catchphrases from all the stooges like "Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk" and Shemp's "Eep Eep Eep Eep", Never once did the song mention Curly's iconic response catchphrase "I'm a victim of circumstance" and shame it wasn't added since there are places in the song where it could have been added Still as a stooge fan, It doesn't bother me that much so I'll let it slip since the song itself is still pretty catchy

I have read about Curley's heart problems. I have also watched Moe or Moses' fall from a table on set. I still love to watch the Stooges, especially Shemp.
May not be well known...but Curly was a professional ballroom dancer...and of course it showed in their bits. Curly had serious moves and dancing chops...he had the muscle mass and training to do amazing feats.
Wouldn't it have been great if the 4 of them, Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp could have been in some films together. I know, I know there was one where Curly did a cameo but i mean when the four of them could have really played off of each other.
It's interesting here to see Joe Besser in place of Curly Joe Derita of whom was the more reasonable facsimile of Curly and more suitably his fat clone and was even meant for at first unavailable but then when he got to be available later on when Joe had to leave to tend to his wife being ill.
I think it made more sense to put Joe Besser in the video because he worked in Columbia's shorts department with Moe and Larry. No disrespect intended to Joe DeRita, but he came along after Columbia shut down it's shorts dept.
@@MrMedictom But as I told above Curly Joe Derita is a more reasonable facsimile of Curly than Joe Besser and so he's more suitably Curly's fat clone than Joe Besser.

I love this song I've had it stuck in my head since the 80's
My favorite episode's was a plumbing we will go..and disorder in the Court 😂😂😂
Curly was always my fav. 😜
The masters of physical comedy. Some of the best. It was so dumb that it was funny.
Wonserful song!!
I forgot about this song. Thanks for the memories. The VID makes it much entertaining.
Awesome video! Great job! Curly is an "icon"! 😃
The movie clips bring back some great childhood memories! Well done.
Curly may be the most beloved comedian by the largest percentage of males in the US than any other comedian.
Great job!
That was really good. Thanks for putting that together. Very well done
They actually play this song on our local radio station…I love it 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Jeez, I haven't heard this song in probably 30 years! Good stuff!
Like Curly once said "i'm trying to think but nothin happens"

I remember that I used to do this at the stringband clubhouse after we had marched up broad st and I also did this in high school. Why you! Ruff knuck knuck knuck knuck miss the good old days
In living legacy to Mo, when I saw my two cats staring at the window side by side, I dubbed them "The Imbeciles On the Window Sill"
Bill Ganon funny!!!!!!!
TV comedian and Host, Steve Allen, commented once that Jerome, Curly, Howard an unrecognized and underrated Comic genius. I think one of his most famous bits is the Oyster Stew bit, which was done by many Bevins in the Silent movie days to Lou Costello. Of all these people I think Curly's was the best.
This song was on the first 45 record that I ever purchased as a kid. I think Genesis' "That's All" was the second.
They say "American as Appple Pie"..
I say
"American as Curly Howard"
Lover of dogs,children,laughter.
