Definitely mix well. My first hot and savories I thought I shook the bags pretty well, but they all seemed rather bland. So I went in with a slotted wooden spoon and stirred vigorously. What a transformation! So much better! I’m eager to try these new flavors.
Add a pound of ground beef to it. I'm gonna get yelled at for that one. Lol

The Macaroni option is one of my favorite foods in general, and I am looking forward to trying these new flavors when my next order comes in.
I live by Huel.
I find Green Thai Curry one of the best with extra pepper. Make it thick it goes great with some bread too.
Yellow and Indian Curry mixed half and half are a nice hot and hint of sweet.
The Mac and Cheese is okay, but I started adding the Tomato Basil and some hot sauce, but taking a break on both.
Chilli and Sweet and Sour are fine to add variety but needed a break on both. Chilli was good with a tangy or spicy kick (like BBQ sauce flavors) and Sweet and Sour I added a little lemon juice.
My two new pastas just delivered today, looking forward. Just the change is nice but I think these flavors will hit for me.
You do absolutely need to mix. I shake and try to scoop from bottom because the powder will sink. Just check the bag seal is good each time, shake powder up and set it down to scoop should give good ratio.
Tried the bolognese or carbonara yet? I had the Mac and Cheese but really disliked the taste (very chemically) the Green thai curry was nice however

I did like the Mushroom pasta, might be second to Thai Curry, followed by the yellow/red curry mix I make.
I play it safe and minimize my order on the new flavors to know how I like first. But it's a pain when I like but have to wait for more.

@@zj8020 I do. I use the original, hot & savory, and the greens now. I've also tried the bars, but they were too easy to snack on when the expense and calories were against that.
It depends on flavors you like. I like curries, so Thai Green Curry is my favorite. If you like a more home cooked soup I'd say try the Bolognese, just a good tomato-y pasta. If you're a fan of the Campbells mushroom soup, get the Chicken & Mushroom. The Tomato & Herb is great and has a good marinara flavor, but you have to mix it well and I think it helps to grind it a little and make a thick soup.
I've tried all and they're all fine but I can't eat the rest as consistently. Maybe toss in a single bag when I have 2-3 of the ones above. Chilli seems to be the concensus of a great one for most other people... I just always wanted the tang of like a little BBQ sauce tossed in, possibly spoiled making chilli from scrap.
If you had some you were looking at, none were terrible to me, but some needed a dash or splash of something to enhance. Keep a good spice cabinet. Don't do the Hot & Sour first. I like the mix of savory and pineapple, but it's not a good starter for sure, very different flavors. The Mac & Cheese needs a lot of seasoning, it's like kraft mac, but softer noodles and a little lighter flavor, so I add a lot of spices when I make it.

Im new to Huel - Just finishing up my first 3 bag order. I had the Mac & Cheese, Cajun Pasta, and Mexican Chili. I had to get used to the Mexiczn Chili; at first I wasn't into it.
For me, the best cooking method is adding slightly more water tan called for and full power for 1 1/2- 2 minutes (depending on instructions). Then, stirring and microwaving again at 50% - 60% power for another 1 1/2 minutes, and then let stand for 5 minutes,
I got used to the flavor of the Mex Chili.
My endorsement - I can definitely tell when I've had Huel in the morning. I feel much better during the day. More energy & clearer head. Just ordered my second subscription order.
*** For me - the Cajun Pasta is great for getting rid of a hangover, too! Lol!

Sweet & Sour - I genuinely thought it tasted of puke. I physically couldn't stomach it! But Thai Curry - now you're talking. I highly recommend this flavour then add a squeeze of lime & dash of fish sauce. Thanks for these reviews - I think I'm going to give a couple of the pastas a go (Chick'n & mushroom & the Mac & Cheeze).
hahahahaha not just me then, I agree sweet and sour is disgusting! I complained and got a refund and they gave me a £25 voucher. Carbonara and Bolognese my faves!

I have Typ 2 hereditary Diabetes, this is not through lifestyle or being overweight. I need to maintain weight and not lose weight, the Hot and Savoury range contains a large amount of sugar, does anyone else use the Hot and Savory and have Typ 2 Diabetes?
I am not diabetic, or a medical professional so don't make any medical decisions based on my comment. The flavors where that data has been released have a low glycemic index, and it is pretty easy to calculate the glycemic load for yourself, so although it isn't necessarily the best option I doubt that it is particularly dangerous as food goes.
Great review as always. Agree with you - Chick’n n mushroom is my favourite too - but Mac and Cheez definitely the best overall - totally addicted to it. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍

Dont like the chick'n & mushroom much but the cajun pasta is my new favourite

I didn't like the sweet and sour or the tomato basil so I mix them with the Mexican chili.

New to huel, one thing I’m having a hard time with is texture. I’m a huge texture eater, and it comes out kinda soupy. The taste is nice, nothing crazy. But I’m wondering if there’s a way to “doctor it up” to taste better
You can experiment with the amount of water, or how long you leave it. I find there is also a difference between using the kettle and using the microwave. Some people add a dash of Tabasco or similar...
@@CliveIllenden I saw that a kettle is best, I ordered one, so I hope it adds a bit more to it. I’ll have to find a way to add some flavor. The taste is fine, nothing crazy and after taste is actually good. But the flavor is a bit bland
Try using a digital scale to measure the dry mix and water. It's easy to adjust from drier to wetter with this method and the results are more consistent.
I'm looking at getting these for work, how long do you cook it in the microwave please? Also do you still use the 200ml of water and do you cover it? :) these would be perfect for me
I find microwave works well for me, and I stick to the instructions (200ml) and it is all good. Tbh - using the pot works well, too, but I prefer having it in a bowl.
