they probs didnt cut out the low end in the vocals or the melody, but i like how subtle it feels. kinda adds to the confusion that madlib made a trap beat lol
I was gonna say it would go hard with that 808 but the lower end of the lead melody is what makes the track sound so full, they probably didn't want to sacrifice it just to have bass.

This is one of my favorite Gibbs songs. It’s basically two songs in one. And he makes fun of the first part of the song in the second part. The first part is very “trap” music and modern mainstream-ish style with simple lyrics.
And then Madlib flips the beat and then Freddie Gibbs starts rapping way better 👌🏼
