Does it bug anyone else how often people don't wait until Ben is looking at them before they speak to him? Even Callum does it. I'm glad that he snapped at Jay because he does it way too often, but all of the characters deserve that criticism. I know that no one is perfect, but Ben is deaf. You're just talking to yourself if you don't take the time to make sure he can see your lips.

In this video alone, both Callum and Phil do it multiple times, and Jay walks into the apartment talking without even being in Ben's line of sight. He wouldn't have been able to understand them even before he became completely deaf.

In this very video, he literally hands Ben medication and tells him what the pharmacist said while Ben was looking at the bag, not him. Before Ben could hear muffled sounds, but people often had to get his attention visually or physically bc he didn’t have enough hearing to distinguish when people were actually talking to him, and he needed to look at them to catch any of what they were saying. That happened almost every episode even when he could hear muffled sounds.
Phil is honestly the most awful human being I've ever seen, his son is clearly not well , he can't hear and all Phil wants to do is to complain. Also Callum looking so attractive in that outfit and the best boyfriend, looking after him and defending him from phil, spitting out all the facts about Phil Mitchell. I'd love to see Callum having a go at Phil because it's clear that Callum isn't afraid of him and I'm loving that.
Jessie Art No, it’s not just you! The quality has been poor lately, mostly because of writing and storylines. The actors are always brilliant...except Jags and a few others. I’d say ever since boat week it’s gone downhill. I really liked today’s episode though (that ending was brilliant), but the others except the Ben episode was a meh for me. It’s been better, definitely. But when it comes back it’ll be a fresh start and I think it’ll kinda cleanse the show. I’m gonna remain positive, and the Stacey Dooley interviews are looking good. Can’t wait to see Max and Tony! Sorry if I rambled lol

He knows that Ben was deaf then, he didn’t know that Ben lost all his hearing after that night with the gun, but still he is talking fast and looking away from ben. He is just not understanding at all

Plus,they truly tend to completely forget what has happened before😅. So my guess is that the op works. But Ben will have to go through even more drama before that...😰

They're used to him understanding, then being able to catch the gist of what's going on.... now, he's completely deaf and they're not aware of it.
