#MoviesNeverSayDie #80sMovies #80s #Forgotten80sMovies #1980s - Zábava
Summer Rental with John Candy has been overlooked!!!
100% agree there! He was great in that.
Yes!
80s were truly a magical time for movies...Soo many gems from that era....Hope to see some of these on future videos like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wise Guys, Batteries Not Included, Brewsters Millions, Harry and The Hendersons, Back To School, The Couch Trip, Club Paradise, The Squeeze, Mr Mom, Troop Beverly Hills, Jumpin Jack Flash, Fatal Beauty, Three Oclock High
There are all great picks, some are on the list and a few will be added for sure! I just rewatched Brewster's Millions on Tubi, Candy and Pryor were comedic gold!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Brewster's millions one of a kind great great comedy.
Disorganized Crime was great. I watched it a lot, when I was young.
It's a low key great ensemble!
I think about Disorganized Crime ALL THE TIME, but I forgot the name of it until I watched this video. LOVED that movie. The Dream Team is another great forgotten 80s gem.
Definitely 2 underrated movies with strong ensembles.
Bachelor Party is one of Island Movies.
People have forgotten The Sure Thing with John Cusak. I think it was overshadowed by Say Anything.
Also, The Flamingo Kid with Matt Dillon
Great picks! Thanks for watching!
Some others that come to mind, silly comedies like, Young doctors in love, Moving violations, Easy money, (Rodney Dangerfields first solo movie) Jekyll and Hyde together again and Used cars, with Kurt Russell
Used Cars is amazing. Kurt Russell is PERFECT for his role! 😄
Easy Money 😂 classic Dangerfield
@@MICHAELTHOMPSON-uy6ki yeah and teamed up with Joe Pesci too
Great pick I forgot about moving violations! And I love Dangerfield - Easy Money and Back to School get a viewing every year or so.
"Manhunter" is not forgotten.😮
It is a masterpiece.
I would 100% agree with you but you'd be surprised at how many casual movie fans have no idea there was a Hannibal Lecktor before Hopkins.
Bachelor Party is the standard which I judge all other Tom Hanks movies. If you had HBO in the 80s, you got to see many of these movies in regular rotation.
Ahmen Stanley! HBO and Cinemax was where I watched all the classics from Porky's, Up the Creek, Ski School, Hot Dog: The Movie and so many more!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie yeah. HBO and Cinemax were quite well rounded. They gave you the big blockbuster hits, but they also played both classics of yesteryear and small cult stuff as well.
They sure did. I remember when they would give HBO, SHO, CineMax. The Movie Channel awat free for a weekend. Plans were cancelled and the VCR was getting put to work! Haha
Right there with you on Manhunter. Mann doesnt miss often.
💯
80s was just a awesome decade!!!! My favorite at the age of 61! 😍
100%
Did a little happy dance for your inclusion of Organized Crime, it's one of the first movies taped on our first VCR. Only had a few tapes, so watched it well into the high dozens of times. Still watch it a few times a year and its jokes have surprisingly never gotten old.
Haha thats awesome! I remember some of those films from my small collection I watched dozens of times. That film has a great ensemble for sure! Great sense of humor!
Streets of fire should be on this list.
It will be coming in one of the future volumes, I love that movie! Thanks for watching!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie It's absolutely a great time! Awesome to hear it will appear in a future volume.
Great channel man! Amazing how the more films you see, the more you seem to forget!
Thanks dude I appreciate it. You got that right, it's crazy how many movie I forgot about have been mentioned by viewers in these videos! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Bachelor party walked so The Hangover could run.
Haha 100%
I broke a rib laughing at the movie theater scene on bachelor party. When i was a wee young lad. Lol
Hahaha Bachelor Party gets so wild at the end, that theater sequence was comedic gold and still funny today!
I went to a lot of movies in the 1980s and I do not remember "Moving" at all. Thank you for shining a light on this forgotten title. "Back to the Beach" is a real gem and I wish it was more available. "Bachelor Party" is one of those movies I am glad I saw in my younger days but have no desire to see again. Like "Porkey's" it was a product of its time and we should all just move on. 😄😄
Great list and I may look up some of these titles, but I have to say that "Romancing the Stone" is hardly "forgotten." It is still one of the most popular "romcoms" out there. Keep up all your great work.
Thanks for watching! I saw Paramount put together a Back to the Beach blu-ray release that looked nice, seeing the movie in higher res would be cool. Yeah many of the 80s raunch coms feel overly stale when trying to watch with now. I guess more people do remember Romancing that I thought, which is understandable, Douglas and Turner were a dynamite duo!
Just found u ! Great quality content !
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
That outro is perfect. The Jack Burton scene at the end of BTILC is pure 80s gold.
Haha thanks bro! I'm pretty proud of that closing for sure! I feel it fits the channel perfectly! Thanks for watching!
A+ video!
Awesome video, will keep these in mind when I am going to watch a film!
Thanks dude I'm stoked you dug the video and I hope you enjoy some of these if you get a chance to check them out. Thanks for watching!
Another great group of movies!
Thanks bud!
Dude! Moving was the best!!
I always have fun with it. It was my first Pryor movie as a kid, not as strong as his other hits, but still a great time! Thanks for watching!
Bright Lights, Big City showed Michael J. Fox wasnt all about the comedy. His performance is just heartbreakingly perfect in that film.
The movie Light of Day with Joan Jett is another overlooked dramatic turn of his.
Completely agree! I have Light of Day on my watchlist I haven't seen it in easily more than 25 years! I loved the variety of roles Fox took on for sure! Legend!
Thanks for doing this!
My pleasure thanks for watching!
I gave the man the wrong finger! Lol moving is one of Pryor best!
🤣
I already have Manhunter, Tequila Sunrise, and Disorganised Crime on my to-watch list. I have though now thanks to you, added to it Moving, Bachelor Party, and Hot Pursuit.
I watched Romancing The Stone earlier this year. I enjoyed it, but because i believe 84 is such a great year it doesn't even make my personal top twenty of 84, but it is a good film.
You know I think 84 could be my favorite year of film. It was at least the year I REALLY got into movies! Thanks for watching!
Modern Problems w/ Chevy Chase, Moving Violations and Wild Life are also great 80’s movies
Great picks, I love Moving Violations. I need to look into Wild Life, it's not ringing a bell for some reason. Thanks for watching.
Back to the Beach use to make me want to live in Southern California when l was a kid. Use to watch this over and over. When l watch it today it gives me that nice nostalgia feeling of California in the 80s.
100% its Cali beach culture to the max!
So? Did you live in California?
I've lived in southern CA for over 20 years now.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie 😲
Romancing the Stone is a classic, loved watching that as a kid. Might have to check out Hot Pursuit now, looks fun, thanks
Hot Pursuit is a wild little comedy. I always have fun with it.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie just ordered a dvd of it, sure I'll enjoy it, thanks for the recommendations
Here are some forgotten favorites of mine if you don't mind:
Volunteers, Near Dark, Last Dragon, Cloak and Dagger, Stakeout, Down and out in Beverly Hills, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Lean on me, Cherry 2000, Mississippi Burning, Ruthless People, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, Max Dugan Returns, D.A.R.Y.L., Fletch, Real Genius, Moving Violations, Shocker
Great picks. Kudos on the Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Ruthless People and Biloxi Blue shout outs! Awesome movies!
Great high quality videos, keep it up
Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Shanghai Surprise starring Sean Penn and Madonna now that is a forgotten 80's movie LOL!😄🤔🙆🎥
100%!
Yes the 1980s has a lot of great movies and like you mentioned in the video Romancing the Stone have that Indiana Jones feel to it also the movie Jewel of the Nile
I watched both of them recently and they hold up surprisingly well.
Fantastic job on both Vol 1&2 you choose very underrated flicks indeed I always loved ''Eye of The Tiger'' from 1986 and such I always felt that the road buddy action comedy ''Real Men'' is very overlooked especially since I always loved both John Ritter&Jim Belushi characters in that and it's very silly tone. BTW have you ever seen ''Night of The Juggler'' from 1980 with James Brolin? That's a very underrated urban action thriller which sadly was never releashed on DVD or Blu Ray the only way to watch that film is on CZcams for free there's A rip from Cinemax that's in very great HD quailty that's the best version to watch of that flick IMHO.
I'll have to seek out Night of the Juggler it sound fun just from the title and from being an 80s release!
War of The Roses and Ruthless People are often overlooked films! Both Danny Devito films....also check out The End with Burt Reynolds....pretty sure that is early 80s...
You know I don't remember see The End I'll have to check that one out! Great all on 2 classic DeVito movies, I forgot all about Ruthless People!!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie The End was 1978....The trailer is here, but it spoils the entire film....czcams.com/video/ZaDHetXYZho/video.html
This is a good concept. Forgotten actions stars of the 80’s would be cool
Thanks for watching, I'm actually working on a Best Action Star of the 80s series that will be tournament style. Hoping to start it over the holiday season.
Way too little love out there for Disorganized Crime.
100%
BACK TO THE BEACH!!!!!! yoooooo loved that movie!!!!!!!
100%!
The Money Pit is a good one too.
💯
Pulse should be mentioned on one of these list.
I'll have to check out Pulse. The only film of that title I know of is the Japanese horror film from like 2001 or 2.
Great list of films. I didn't know Tom Hanks was in an 80s sex comedy. I'm so used to him in more serious roles. I'll have to check out that Bachelor Party film.
Thanks for watching!
It's a classic 80's comedy. You wont regret it.
Another 3 great forgotten 80's films are 1985's Thunder Alley and the Journey of Natty Gann and 1989's The Package with Gene Hackman.
For sure, I actually have The Package on my watchlist, planning to get it in soon!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Awesome!
Disorganized crime is awesome!
Agreed, love the cast.
One that is more relevant today than when it was made is, The Survivors. Starring Robin Williams, Walter Matthau and Jerry Reed. Great comedy about a guy getting sucked into the "survivor" craze of the 1980s that now a days would be the whole Trump thing. Give it a watch, you'll see what I mean.
Definitely a strong comedy! I forgot all about it! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
What's wrong with Manhunter? William Petersen. I personally think he's absolutely horrendous in every single thing I've ever seen him in, even Young Guns 2.
Yeah I've never been a huge WP fan either.
Youngblood. The Rob Lowe hockey movie
Great pick! I think that had Swayze in it too if I remember right!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Yes, he was definitely in it and hilariously so!
Moving is a banger!!! “PUSSY!!”🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Manhunter was one of my favorite movies from the 80's. I wish I could find it on a streaming service. Out of Bounds with Anthony Michael Hall is one I think has been forgotten by everyone. It's not the greatest movie ever made but it was entertaining and I liked it
I think Manhunter is free on Prime right now. I watched it on there last month so hopefully it's still up there if you have it. I had completely forgotten about Out of Bounds I stumbled across it on Tubi a couple weeks ago and it's been on my watchlist since!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie thank yo for the info I will go check
No problem! Hope its still up there!
"Moving" was actually from 1988 not 1987 as the chapter index indicates in the description.
Thanks for the correction.
I need Back to the Beach.😂
I don't know if it's on blu-ray yet but it a ridiculously nostalgic must have for the home collection.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie ☺️
Moving is my 2nd fav Pryor movie after See no Evil The whole i like the pool were taking it with us haha.. and then everything but the Stairs were gone the poster is on my wall... Anda rue forgotten 80s film for some reason nobody knows Summer Rental and its just a fun 80s family movie staring John Candy but well worth the 80 mins
Summer Rental is definitely underrated for Candy. Thanks for watching! 🤙
Manhunter is EASILY THE BEST movie to have the character of hannible lectre in it.
Great film, Silence of the Lambs is a classic though so it's be a close call between the two.
I suggest Ruthless People. A great comedy.
👍🏻
Southern Comfort, Uncommon Valor, Trick or Treat, That was Then This is Now, Hamburger the Motion Picture, Wisdom, Cannonball Run, Lucas, Best of the Best, Light of Day.
Hamburger is a super hidden gem. I just watch Hot Dog the Movie again recently.
What about 'Action Jackson' I just love that movie.
Love Action Jackson, that movie definitely needed a sequel.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie The best part of the movie is the way the city of detroit is portrayed almost as some sort of Gotham city and action jackson as Batman.
Love Romancing The Stone and Bachelor Party.
Watched Tequila Sunrise recently after not having seen it since it's release and it was just kinda MEH to me. Was kinda boring.
I've been curious about Moving for while as I've seen i a lot on Tubi so now maybe I'll give it a go.
Eye of the Tiger reminds me a lot of Walking Tall.
I remember watching Back To The Beach a lot on TV way back when. I always remember the line. "that sucked!" (you know the scene) but the rest of the movie I'm drawing a blank on.
Eye of the Tiger has a LOT of Walking Tall qualities for sure. I can see your opinion on Tequila Sunrise as well. Its a bit heavy on the word salad. Moving is a fun silly comedy, far from peak Pryor but a good time with solid supporting characters.
An 80s hidden Jem, in my opinion, is Eddie and the Cruisers
While by no means Excellent 👌
Still a good time Every time
Great call! I forgot all about that movie.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie if you ever want to do a mini doc on it
I'm betting it'll get some views
Tom Berrenger and a couple others
That's a great idea, I'd love to do a little retrospective on that one!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie How about the sequel? More forgettable right?
Peter, No!
😆
Some other forgotten movies from the 80s...
Teachers
Flight of the Navigator
Space Camp
Great picks and awesome call on Space Camp! Forgot all about that one!
Truth lol you my kind of people’s 🤣
Haha Thanks for watching Dr. I appreciate it!
gave the man the wrong finger
🤣
Have you ever watched Miami Vice the series from Michael Mann?
Oh for sure, it was part of my routine TV schedule as a kid and on syndication. Awesome show!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie I watched it a bit as a kid in the 80's too and as a late 90's teen. The opening and closing montages were super rad and slick.
Oh 100%, Miami Vice was the pinnacle of cool!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Crockett and Tubbs were among the best dressed tv characters of the 80's and most stylish and suave.
Anybody remember Porky's and Stripes?
LOVE Stripes! Such a hilarious comedy!
Does anyone remember the movie moving violations starring bill murrays younger brother
I vaguely remember that one. It had a young Jennifer Tilly in it as well if I remember right. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Did u see the BRATS doc it was good
I did. Thought it was great overall. Wish Ringwald and Reinhold would've chimed in but I get it.
Richard Pryor absolutely hated that movie… and hated working on it. It’s an ok flick, but is ridiculously inferior to his larger body of work. I would’ve picked “see no evil, hear no evil.” The last flick he did with Gene Wilder.
It's certainly not peak Pryor, but his work with Wilder is legendary so I would assume I'd get a lot of push back for putting any of the films they did together on a 'forgotten' list.
Exitstential
🤣🤣
Turk 182 ?
Nobody remembers that movie🤦♂️
I can vaguely remember that one, feels like a film I saw at the video store over and over but never actually rented. I gotta put it on my watchlist.
Romancing The Stone is a forgotten movie? No way! I even have the Soundtrack on CD actually 2 both issues from 2002 and the re-release 2017!🤠🎥💽👍
Thanks for watching!
Definitely not a forgotten movie
The sequel Jewel of the Nile is more forgotten than its predecessor.
@@maximusprime3459 In 2005 a third film in the franchise was announced titled "Racing The Monsoon." The movie was to be filmed in India and star Michael Douglas alongside Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai. However, by 2008 Rai had been replaced by Catherine Zeta-Jones. As of 2022, there had been other rumors about the movie, including a reboot, a television adaptation, and different casting options. 🎥🎬📺🙋
