Does the edge angle set by the sharpening guide depend on the width of the knife being sharpened? Maybe the sharpening guide can't be used on thin knives?
From what ive leanred it depends on how wide your knife cause the, wider it is the better the angle, on less wider knife it will be too great of an angle
Burrfection has a great tutorial series. I've learned most of my sharpening there. I don't use a plastic guide although I have one. The rule is the higher the grit the lower pressure you use. For the 1000 grit you should use moderate pressure and do it nice and slow, to not slip and cut yourself.
You've been ripped off. That's not a premium stone, it's a regular soft 1000/6000 stone available from ebay/amazon for like 3 bucks, lots of companies buy them in bulk, slap on their logo on the side and resell them heavily overpriced.
Great tutorial, simple, easy to follow and straight to the point. Thank you very much!
Received mine today and excited to try it
I bought this amazon, good price. I like how he demonstrate western and asian sharpening ways
Using mine today very excited
Omg that knife at the end . That's sharp
💨
What is the difference between the 'Premium' and the one you sold a few years ago for half the price and that looks exactly the same?
What angle is the guid set to and can u set it to a different angle?

Nah it has a flexible fit. Unless you have the fattest knife in the world
Am I the only one who was surprised by the direction he was moving his blade when sharpening?
No
That is the correct direction to move the blade. Only when using a strop would you go the opposite direction
@@patrickfoot4182Japanese vs American styles.
No. That is the direction when sharpening. For stropping you do the opposite.
@@ericsierra-franco7802 The opposite is also the Japanese technique.
Curious to know if the angle guide would work for a pocket knife
Same angle
What degree is it sharpening at??
He's using a angle finder it seems. Some whet stones come with them.
The instructions say it is a 20 degree angle
Am I supposed to press hard? How many times must I do this to get a sharp edge?
watch a tutorial

Or I guess you're the scammer and not the scammed.
Almost funny. Yes. Lets PUSH the blade with it pointed at us.. (That is your thumbnail.) Advice to newbs. Do NOT do that.
