RIP Chick Corea...what better than to experience this band...damn Vinnie is a beast on the kit hey.
Черт их повел за собой в адский огонь
Anyone giving this a thumbs down vote doesn’t deserve thumbs...
it feels like a privilege to listen to this now that it's unlisted
Chick plays with such ease…….❤
Well, Chick Cores was Chick Corea.
Vinnie smoking and drumming at the same time. Genius
hes just holdin it wit his lips and breathin
TOO BAD VIN IE. I DONT LIKE MUSICIANS N DRUMMERS, WITH DRUGS IN THEIR VEINS, PLAYING ANY KIND OF MUSICS.
IM NOT A FAN.
Если бы еще выпивал вообще ему равных небыло.)))
didn't know that Chick also Smoke 0:35
With his energy and spirit, I was sure Chick was going to make it to 100. RIP Chick.
'some believe and claim that there is no time limit: for energy and spirit'
He shud of, whatever happened to him, he's been stolen from the other side.
I play bass in a couple metal bands but god I wish I could play jazz bass like this. Raw talent.
Raw practice all day
This trio with Weckl and this trio with Vinnie are two COMPLETELY different things.
Agree
Yes I agree. While obviously different, it is amazing how they each are a perfect fit to the music. I always say you can't rate musicians that are on that level. It's art and it's subjective. Trying to rate Dave and Vinnie would be like asking who is better, Picasso or Dali. With that said, I'm curious. Do you the music better with one or the other?
@@Joker-ig8im Yes, it's completely subjective. I don't know that I prefer one over the other. I just find it fascinating that they are so completely different just by changing out one player. I guess I have an affinity towards this performance w/Vinnie because it's so rare and he's just going for it on every tune. Weckl, while amazing, can be very calculated. Vinnie just has this sense of you never know if he's going to pull it off or if it will fall apart. And then when he lands it, it blows your mind!
@@terrydrums Yes, Weckl plays like his personality - precise and measured. Where as Vinnie is more emotional and unpredictable in his playing.
It's like choosing between a Rolls Royce and a Lamborghini.
@@terrydrums I agree.... they're both amazing but with Vinnie it sometimes FEELS like he's playing dangerously....but he isn't....he knows exactly what he's doing....he never misses.
That "Tumba" gets me every time! :D wild!!
All 3 band members are masters at their craft. The musicianship is off the chart. RIP, Chick.
wow I was born in this year at tokyo. I wanted to watch his playing...
That trio is INSANE.
Beyond beautiful Playin'
This is absolutely insane! These guys are intense! All three are on another planet with their skill level. How cool that they found each other and produced this sound together. Amazing!
Ese sí es súper trio🎶 gracias, saludos 🇨🇱🚴♂️(gracias por toda la música que nos legó maestro Chick) y creo que hasta Dave Weckl admira a Vinnie tocando en este trío que bien conoce💪
These are some of the best musicians in the world.
I keep coming back - year after year ---
Me too, this was amazing performance!
My God! Patitucci is such a BEAST! Plenty has been said about Vinnie here- and Chick-about whom It’s not even necessary to say ANYTHING! But there haven’t been enough comments about John! His playing is always consistent, versatile and intensely creative!
Love that Vinnie still listens to what everyone is playing while he is soloing like on @7:39 answering back chick’s phrase.
What a wonderful version of Round Midnight. It's amazing how many different styles Chick mastered.
What’s amazing is that every time these videos pop up the drummers always get the most comments. Love it!
Need a shot of that Tumba version once in a while... had the CD for over 20 years, such enjoyment to actually see them play here, thank you Uncle Remus for posting!
So far my favorite live recording of Vinnie Colaiuta of all time. Pure magic.❤️🌹
Holy guacamole, what a find!
Mr. Colaiuta is an amazing drummer.
Vinnie, puede tocar prácticamente de todo y con todos, desde rock hasta tocando standard en un trio. Un héroe batero, con un estilo inconfundible. Empiezan con Humpty Dumpty, y entran con todo👏
Boy Vinnie is such a good drummer. Athletic and inventive. Fun to watch.
Hot damn..hot damn... hot DAMN!!! This is fire!!! The Satori Flow was strong at this gig.
Holy crap, Vinnie is intense!!!!!
From the drop, all 3 are burnin!
Finally found the whole video that one clip was from!!! Thnks
Chic you will stay wirh us forever so many years of incredible music. The trio is on fire love both Dave & Vinnie.
Oh to be able to go back in time and be there to see this live...
I can't believe how good this sounds.
Mr. Corea is the Chopin of popular music. I have been to so many shows of his that I can’t remember how many times I have attended them. Mr. Corea, Rest In Peace. We will miss you forever.
Is it really accurate to call this form of jazz popular music?
@@aliecat1999 if popular music means quality stuff that will always remain, yes ;)
Instagasm! World class musicians. So dreaming of the day this music quality is on Spotify top chart, then we know the world is spinning in the right direction again.
In our dreams, unless we all musicians start to take this art seriously, even if we are not famous, be the best musician you can be
This is simply beyond genius, total magical new kind of Jazz... Thank you guys, you belong to shangrila, or somewhere in outer space!
Great band! RIP Chick! Chick just tears it up in this set. Amazing. Patch rips on bass. Vinnie is god with a drum set. Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still Roy Haynes though.
@@paxwallacejazz still Chick Corea though.
12:40 - That "Double Paradiddle" Groove that every drummer, at some point, will play - It's not the same when Vinnie plays it: Mind-blowing.
Currently, my meaning in life is to just watch Vinnie Colaiuta drum - and selling drumsets.
Wow Vinnie is SHREDDING
One of thee best Jazz Pianist or Pianist RIP '
Chick."
The most virtuosic part is Vinnie putting out his cigarette while playing
Incredible , been on a Chick kick tonight , after a stressful few weeks , diving deep into his music has soothed the soul to say the least , 21 years old and seeing the mastery chick has over his instrument , he’ll always be a legend , incredible timing , fluidity , and not a single hesitation. Knows exactly what he’s playing and where to take it , John & Vinnie are both mind blowing also , Vinnie is incredible and totally unpredictable , amazing to watch , mesmerising. Absolute class.
On Humpty Dumpty, the interplay between Chick and John P is just amazing to listen to, especially when John is soloing. They are so tuned in to one another. Chick is always on the same page. and John's playing is other worldly. I'd like to see him and Christian McBride trade fours...thanks for posting this.
Tremendo trio, tremendo pianista, tremendo contrabajista, tremendo baterista!!!!!!
best performance ever.
Increíble 😊 que cosa más maravillosa 🤗
Músicos excepcionales, QEPD Chick Corea
8:14 when your drummers killin it
God chick was so friggin insane!
The best quality of this amazing recording, thank you.
Stunning.
I love Chick on the electric piano best. RIP
R. I.P. Chick corea 😔😪🙏
MAN, CHICK.. THANK YOU... RIP
Great concert with great musicians ! rip Chick...+
Just a reminder. Vinnie Colaiuta has played with the likes of Zappa, Chick Corea, and Megadeth >D
Uhhh and Duran Duran too... I'll show myself out...
@@mbrew3244 >D
@@chickenbeek one track on their 1993 The Wedding Album... "Breath After Breath"
@@mbrew3244 I'll check it out right now. Duran Duran were not a bad band per se. Can't deny they ruled the airwaves in the 80's. Their guitarists was actually pretty good in that offshoot band. What was it something Power something.
@@mbrew3244 Interesting. Was not expecting that. I kind of forgot to listen to the drums because the vocals were so good.
amazing session
Patitucci checkin' his skypager at the beginning 😎
Too bad the song New Waltz never made it to any of Chick's albums. Glad at least that we have a version available in this live video.
RIP Chick, thanks so much
Quite amazing playing by all. Their communication is unbelievable. One could call this the Kick Ass Trio.
Hear that Tony Williams in there? Oh, yeah. And some Bonham & some Johnette. And, of course, Vinnie.
Insane! Will miss Chick till I go!
53:39 tension and release on Corea's face ... what an amazing phrase he is playing there.
Trois immenses musiciens ! Grande complicité et facilité déconcertante ! Merci Chick Corea ; un grand trio comme on en trouve pas en France !!! John Patitucci impressionnant , probablement le plus grand contrebassiste avec Christian mc Bride.
woooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww genioooooooousssssss
I can't believe he's passed on
Not a bad innings though. 79 years. We should all be so lucky 😉
This band was on FIRE!
I love the two hand claps at around 8:20 after Vinnie obliterates a solo
Its japanese. During COVID, they were told not to scream when riding rollercoasters 😂
AMAZING
13:13 to 13:50 alone is worth the price of admission!
Seriously it's just daily listening for me, this section
2:42 - John is like - "Yeah!" The look he gives Vinnie.
I don't even play piano and this video made me quit piano
LMAO
Good for you. I play drums and bass and had to quit both.
I only can say "I'm a pianist but I don't play Jazz, that why my technique it's different. Goodbye" JAJAJA
That's a brilliant line dude
here we GOOOOOO
Herbie Hancock,chick corea, Oscar Peterson
Mis favoritos

That fuggin thumbnail is crazy

Stratus. ...
Hammer!
Rip... Looks like Vinnie didn't visit Japanese fashion shops with the guys before the gig that day.... :D
When you have chops like Vinnie, you don’t have to :)
His pants look pretty groovy
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Track One - The Humpty Dumpty. And we lost Chick and Shock G this year...
Wow
great improvvisations...
This is funny shit. Patiticci with the upright, then bust out the 6. Awesome! Caliuta is always entertaining.
Nice upscale attire Vinnies sport'n there, PJ's and a Tank Top, But hey, he sure can Drum those Smokes lol, go Vinnie!!!

I'd be intimidated being in a room with this much chad energy there.
21:15 brutal wooooow
Vinnie. Jeezis.
John Patitucci looks like he's on fast forward.
I wonder why Vinnie didn't stay ok actually change that thought one gig with Keith Jarrett now that would be insane especally around this time .... After the chronic fatigue Keith's energy changed quite a bit .... Because you would have two wild men Keith and Vinnie .... Both singing a dee dee dee dee uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dee dee ahhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
