14:00 bro, exactly what you need to do. Ask the questions because not everyone works in a shop or is around it all the time. Perfect addition to the videos. 😎👍
even though this video is a year old I always learn something I never thought a roto fab intake would make that kind of horse power and torque thanks to all the guys in the shop for letting some one follow them around with a camera in there face all day
I love this channel for the fact that everyone acts normal. Just clips from normal every day at a shop. I look forward to videos all the time! I don't even own a Chevy product but I'm a car enthusiasts and work in a service department, so I enjoy it!
Not fair comparo! Do the rotofab with hood closed and see if you are getting the numbers. Stock airbox is a closed box and with hood open on the rotofab, you are still testing open box setting. That’s one issue with these intake testings. Once you restrict the rotofab to a closed box setting, you may not see the gains you are seeing here. The hood I believe also doesn’t cover and seal the intake properly, letting hot air from the engine bay to get sucked in, high eats, lower the timing.
You also have to consider that you don't have the ram air effect of actually driving the car, so it could possibly even out?
I wonder if the horsepower would change if the hood was shut and the top of the airbox was sealed to it like how it's supposed to be
27 Hp $450 air filter assembly, installation, Dyno pre- & post, and got your car on CZcams-Nice!!
$450 for the Rotofab plus $800 or so for the tune and dyno? and i know these guys dont use E85 because the lack of availability but thats worth another 20-30rwhp
I like the new camera guy, very nice and humble trying to learn.
Would love to send my 2010 to you guys for long tube headers and tune. Love the videos and quality of work you guys do.
Good Rant about the 8hp high! Made me giggle. Fran doesn't suffer fools!
Matt I'm sorry about my Whipple taking a dump and you having to work on my car twice. All my fault. I'm sure the Whipple install was spectacular. I wish I could have seen some pictures of the final installation. I'm sure since you worked on it twice it will be twice as good :) You are the 6th Gen Guru!! I'll try to make it up to you when I get up there from Texas to see my car. Let me know what you want to smooth things over (within reason) since I am broke now :) I swear Fran and Bill talked me into the F-1A-94 Procharger! No, the speed junky in me made me do it! More horsepower more horsepower!!
As I lay rubber down the street
I pray for traction I can keep
But if I spin and begin to slide
Please dear God protect my ride
Amen
I'm definatly going to use this prayer/quote everytime I get into my vette now! 👍
Solid numbers on that SS.
I would think ALOT of people will get good info from this video. A CAI is so easy to install and so many folks do this mod without a tune.
I like the feedback about the what Fran notices about CAI's and no tune. I do wonder however don't some of these cars come in stock and show similar negative aspects with no CAI? I believe Fran has mentioned how some of these come stock and need a tune out of the box with no mods. Is it possible this car had some knock before the CAI was installed?
I appreciate the content of this video. Do more like this. Thanks for covering such a popular topic and backing it up with the data and solid commentary.
A good tune alone is worth the money if you really enjoy the driving experience especially in a stick car. I can't stand the handicaps they put in the throttle response, power band(torque management they call it), pedal position etc. Ever since electronic TB's, power feels neutered out of the box.
Yeah I can't wait for my warranty to run out so I can do the rotofab CAI, MSD intake, tune and maybe long tube headers. Heads and cam probably eventually but with everything above it should pick up a decent amount with a tune
@@tlalexander3 screw warranty
Great info
What gains did the ZL1 make on that throttle body and cold air?
i just took delivery of my 22 ss 1le camaro with an a10, i was wondering if you guys offered email tuning? i plan to just do bolt ons like intake and headers but i love your guys work both in the shop and videos. i already have an mpvi2. T.I.A happy holidays!
Yes. Email Fran@raceprovenmotorsports.net
@@RaceProvenMotorsports do you do tunes for BDX tuners
Did you guys needed to raise afr to compensate for the CAI? And what percentage was it raise ?
So if a 30hp gain with intake and tune, probably could see 45-50 with intake, headers, full exhaust, and tune. Sweet comparison.
Probably 60 or so, headers and a tune gave my car 40 to the wheels
thoughts on putting Hpipe on exhaust for camaros?
I have a 2022 ZL1, what should I run for intake and full exhaust including headers. Thank you for sharing your videos ❤️
You already have a supercharged V8 beast. You should just enjoy your car and leave it alone. Plus any mods in such a new car, may void the warranty.
What size tires are that red camaro and also wheels spec?
What did you remove and then plug it with? 10:28 Thanks
The car had knock on the stock pull.. I could see the puffs of white smoke out the tailpipe.. Is this car running 87 from Walmart..??
Hi guy’s had a question?… I had noticed all the rubber build up on the deck and was wondering if all the rubber from the tires causes drag on the roller’s? 😎👍
No. There is no build up on the roller it self.
Is this Manuel or Automatic vehicle?
Is this auto or manual?
But shouldn't you have hood closed to get a true reading! I understand you compared open to open, but the stock intake was closed on top!
They have before and it didn’t make a difference with hood open or closed
Will the intake pick up more or less with the hood closed.
Just curious?
yeah I was just thinking that, it's getting more cool air than it would normally. Might even get hot engine bay air if hood closed.
So even though it got knock shouldn't the computer recalibrate for the air intake after you drive it some?
No. Factory ECU do not “correct” anything
Now let’s see a C7 Z06 with stock baseline, cai number then tune and cai numbers.
I was told by the company that installed my headers and intake that even if I had just tuned the car even completely stock it would have improved the overall drivability of the car.
It would 100%
Hey I have a question was this a 93 tune or e85? And is it safe to run a flex tune with just a cold air intake ?
It looks like it’s a e-85 tune because I have a ss with a cold air intake and 93 octane and I’m puking about 409-412 whp but with e-85 what we see here looks accurate
Do I have to get a full corsa exhaust system if I get corsa headers ?? please lmk 😅
From my research the exhaust doesn’t have to be the same. However, you should get some type of Non Flow restricting exhaust downstream from your headers to maximize them before you tune it. For example, why change your headers prior to the exhaust if you’re just going to leave it stock?
Is this crank or wheel horsepower? The 6th gen is supposed to make 455 hp and 402 RWHP. If mine made 447 RWHP with just an intake then I will buy a CAI immediatly 😅
We don’t dyno the engine so it’s rear wheel HP
Is that normal for a baseline? Cause I’ve seen anywhere from 402 to 445. Lol I’m getting a 1LE tomorrow so I’m just curious what to expect. Trading a 19 Bullitt. I hope I’m not fucking up lol
Which car do you prefer?
that dyno read high and that a fact. look up any stock camaro dyno they around 400-410hp this was 430 that dyno is off by at least 20hp
I have a friend that said my rotofab intake don't do nothing for my Camaro looks like he's wrong very wrong 🤣
That friend of yours is right. I know from experience. I just took off my Roto-Fab because I felt hesitation and loss of power. Then I put the stock filter box and aem dry flow filter back on and holy shit I feel the pull and power like it used to have before the Roto-Fab. I know this is a old video but thought I would share.
@@chrisx2015right but any car will get more power from a tune, even with 0 mods at all..
Changing cai from one to another on an already tuned car is ok right?
No they are all different.
@@RaceProvenMotorsports ok thanks
LOL Eric and his 69. Ole TWO CAN CHEW ERIC
I honestly wonder how many miles are on rpms Dyno
A LOT!!!!!
@@RaceProvenMotorsports is they a kn air
Those tail lights need to go..
This Man Matt looks like he can do this shit in his sleep. He is the guy I go out with and then at 5:30 in the morning when I come walking thru the front door.. Wife not to happy with me anymore!! But it was a good time !!. O by the way your dyno reads HIGH !!
Ok dude
fran should give a tune episode he is great tuner RPM
The Internet: Your Dyno ReAdS HIGH!!!
Result: +8hp... (over other cars)
Me: It's because they use more lube.
Also Me: *who the fuck allowed this skidmark to connect via AOL?*
Should of gotten a closed cold air intake
Is this crank or Rear wheel power?
The car is on a chassis dyno……
@@RaceProvenMotorsports lmfao
Even 1% techs do shit like that
you guys pick on Matt a lot. imagine one day he snaps with the jack handle in his hand, hate to be there when he does
Eric's making a list. He's checking it twice. Gonna 69 out who's naughty or nice. Eric Clause is coming to town, ewwww.....
But does it destroy the motor?
you think CAÍ is giving you more HP 😂😂😂
