  • We love to build things on the channel with families and friends! Join my friend Matt and I as we build this Rustic Bar-Top / High-Top Sofa table out of Select Pine for his basement! Thanks for liking, subscribing and respectfully participating in the comments section!
    Table Dimensions and cuts:
2 Table Tops Measuring 17.75” x 5” (5/4” width boards make for a nice table top that is a little thicker than standard 1” material - We used a 5/4” x 6’ Edge Glued Select Pine Board and cut it in two sections and trimmed it to 5’ in length)
    4 - 4x4 (3.5”x3.5”) legs cut to 37” in length
    4 - 2x4 (1.5” x 3.5”) legs cut to 37” in length
    6 - 1x4 (3/4” x 3.5”) trimmed to 3.25” and cut to 4’, 11.25” in length
    6 - 1x4 (3/4” x 3.5”) trimmed to 3.25” and cut to 16.25” in length
    16 - 2x2 (1.5” x 1.5”) Furring Strips cut to 7.75” in length
We also cut some of the waste on the table top to 3.25” x 7.75” and used it in between the 2x4 legs where the two tables meet.
Of course you can adjust these measurements if you desire to build your table a different size. Just measure twice and cut once!
    4x4x8’ - White Pine (actual measurements 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”) - Purchased 2 and cut 4 legs at 37” in length
    2x4x8’ - Select Premium Pine (actual measurements 1 1/2” x 3 1/2” - Purchased 2 and cut at 37” in length
    5/4 x 36” x 6’ Edge-Glued Select Pine Table Top - Cut to 18” x 5’ for 2 table top sections
    1 1/2” x 1 1/2” x 8’ Furring Strips - Purchased 2 and cut to 7.75” sections.
We recommend using SELECT Pine or other premium cut lumber that is straight. It’s really nice to start with straight wood. You could build this out of Cedar, Pine, Oak, Ash… whatever you can find. Happy Building!
