The bone handles will always be different. When dying the bone each bone piece takes the dye different. It’s like fingerprints no two bone handles will look the same.

I understand that, but that first one was just way too dark on the front side it seems (worse was the gritty/hard opening). I do enjoy Case knives though (particularly the mini copperlock) and will most likely get some more in the future.

Yeah. I actually like the 1st knife. I could work out lubing the joint in a second and I like the dark scale. All my knives are users, though, so the guy is right to be picky if he is collecting or gifting.

@@seanrobinson6407 thats just called being picky. If you’d like to pay an extra 20 per knife for them to run them through an ultrasonic cleaner. That’s on you guys. That’s just the nature of the beast with the polish knife. I’d rather it be stiff. Then I have a lock rock.

“Made in America” don’t mean much these days my friend. The Case Medium Stockman I bought a month ago has many imperfections:
1.) The grid job looks like someone did it while drunk one side is heavy other side is shallow on all 3 blades.
2.) came with A LOT of metal derbies, polishing compound in the pivots like an excessive amount looks like it was in a coal mine for 6 months.
3.) Knife had a scuff on the back of the back springs that caused me to get my money back from the seller and the seller never gave me a shipping label so it was a free $70 knife since it had been over a month now still no reply.
4.) Knife looked used, bolsters were all scratched up and the blade rub is excessive. (Made in the USA) Sheeeesh my Chinese Civivi knifes wouldn’t come in this shape in a million years we live in a different America my friends.
I did come around to this knife and love it now it’s a little worker I throw it in the same pocket with my keys seeing as it already has scratches and was free ninety nine I could care less if it gets banged up which is a beautiful thing.

Yea I like my liner/frame locks, but ever since I got my first Mini Copperlock I really started to like them. I love so many different knives but this just hits the spot for the classic/traditional style with a touch of modern flair. I love the different materials/colors they offer, and the gold accent, it just flows really well 👌

Yeah, but I bet you that the ones that open silky smooth, have terrible blade wobble. I will never buy a case knife unless I can handle it first and go through a bunch of them to find a good one. Most have defects and flaws and their quality control is almost non existent. You have to pick through 10 of them to find one good one, in my experience.
I would rather have the one that is gritty out of the box, because that will loosen up and smooth out over time. The one that is super easy to open, will have lots of blade wobble that will just get worse over time...

  • @davidcooper6704

The poor qualitity control continues with Case knives. It seems to be pot luck as to whether you get a good one when you buy one of these unseen on line. Making a pocket knife is not rocket science. It is not unreasoble to expect a high standard of workmanship at the price Case charge. If the Chinese can do it at a fraction of the price (as with Rough Ryder) why can't case do it in the US? I'm with you on sending them back. I just returned a Mini Trapper wharncliffe to a dealer here in the UK. The gapping was unacceptable and the half stop was sloppy. Disappoiting to say the least. Older Case knives seem to be a lot better than the modern ones especially since Zippo got to own the company. I know at least one dealer in the UK is going to stop stocking Case knives. It is a shame as when you do get a good one it really is a pleasure to own and use.

People think case knives are worth what you pay for but in reality they’re 15 dollar knives sold with a markup. Like rough Ryder knives are worth the same and are sold what they’re worth so people don’t complain about the quality cause you pay for what you get. At that point it’s just a name you paying for cause you can go to a gas station and buy a 10 dollar knife with same quality
