Your not being bias I think that Puerto Rican rice looks a lot better that the Mexican spanish rice, I've tasted both and I think the Puerto Rican rice taste better and am not even PR.

Growing up we ate rice with EVERY meal. Filipinos love their rice too just like our Mexican and Puerto Rican peeps.

Love both recipes ......but the PR version had two ingredients that took it to next level .......one is pork ......love meat in my rice and the flavor it gives off and the " sofrito " . Adding sofrito to the rice is key !!! I know that kitchen was smelling something really fierce that day ......in a good way .

Rice & gandules is my favorite ❣️ As a kid I lived with my aunt (dad's sis) and uncle ( who is Puerto Rican) .. Every weekend the family would get together at my grandmas house where she would make a big pot for us to eat . Sadly she past a few years ago haven't had any since . I'll learn one day .😊

1:50 bruh Arroz Con Gandules is something I've always eaten all my life!! It's in my Puerto Rican blood to chow this tf down every time it's made. And my family has a different way of making it whether on 3 kings, family gatherings, birthdays, or just whenever. When my grandma would make it, she'd serve it with pork chops. When my mom would make it, she'd cut those small canned sausages (salchichas) and mix them into the rice. My grandpa would've made it with ribs.

I'm half Chamorro & half Filipino and rice is in every meal..its crazy! On Saipan its the red rice (mainly for special occasions) and the receipe varies. My fav red rice would be with the green peas and bacon. Never made it myself tho. I need to learn! Thanks for sharing! Also..Tia Mary is so precious! 💗💗💗

Wait, wait, wait, wait.....no cumin in the Mexican rice? Yes, garlic powder, onion powder, a little pepper, a bit of salt but you have to have cumino! That's the ingredient that separates it from every other kind of rice.
    Mary is awesome!
