I'm Thomas and I do videos and reviews on mechanical keyboards ranging from the most sickening modern RGB gaming keyboards to vintage hardware relics, or sometimes keycaps or keyswitches ranging from Cherry MX to Alps SKCM to IBM buckling springs and anything in between.

Love the calculator function for the LCD screen on it. If you're gonna go fullsize/1800/98% you might as well go all out & let the keyboard do basic calculations right on it. Very thoughtful
The keycaps and brass match your beer nicely!
EDIT: It looks like the switches are Kailh's "Deep Sea Silent Pro Box Switch" which are silent linears. They also have a silent box brown stem version. I would love to see a switch teardown, just because from Kailh's website it looks like the switch has a lot of parts to it.
Thanks for the clarification! I may well do that at some point :) .
Wow quick notice
@Chyrosran22 No worries! The video piqued my interest and I couldn't help but do a quick search. On Kailh's site for the switch they have an exploded view of the switch, and most of it is standard new-gen Box switch architecture but I don't quite understand how the dampening is mounted to the stem and bottom housing.
This keeb looks nice, i got into the old keyboard hobby from you, and i love my Alps Tactile keyboard :> nice stuff, been watching you for a long time Thomas.
lol
Sending an ISO enter keycap for an ANSI PCB seems like a bit of a wind-up.
A lot of the keysets that come with the keyboard look a lot like standard clones you can buy off the chinese market in bulk. Most of those sets come with plenty of layout compatability, so they probably just tossed in the extra keys because keeping them would be an inventory nightmare.
It may also be to make it so you can stick it on another keyboard, as one of the other comments pointed out. I've seen other examples of that before as well. @@jo54763
that beer must be really good LOL
I love that old look color on the extra keycaps
I miss that look
"old look color"... Yes! That's it. I was wondering where I've seen this colour before. It's that Sepia colour for old photographs.
Nice system shock shirt!
wow i literally bought one of these for a friend yesterday
if you are intended to keep this, then may i recommend putting on some MMD Princess Tactile. They're dirt cheep and have a pretty good tactile bump in term of cherry based switch
Does this board use 5 pin switches?
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 yes
at that point just get holy pandas
@@neuropathical holy panda is 5 times its price and it can't reach that level of bass in sound.
BOX Deep Sea - Islet interesting . i will add to my soon ideas
Why that crack about production values? You make pristine videos and you know it. : )
Hey Chyros, have you seen the Feker Ik75 PRO?
Feker?! What on earth is that kind of a name for anything? xD
@@Chyrosran22 I know the brand name's kinda dubious but they also have their own switches
Every time I read "Keydous" I hear you saying "Hideous"
at first glance i thought it was another 96% like the cooler master masterkeys pro M. Kinda wish to have good PBT keycaps for ABNT but i know this won't happen
Reminds me of the Coolermaster Quickfire TK also. Btw, what is ABNT?
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 ABNT is the brazilian national standard for the keyboard layout, like JIS for Japan.
The physical layout is basically a ISO shortened left shift, ISO Enter key, JIS shortened right shift, and a shortened plus key on the numpad for a convenient dot key. Also the software is side is different for the use of áàãâü as dead keys and other conveniences ªº°§¹²³¢¬.
if i didn't cared about keyboards and if i was bilingual i would use ABNT for the rest of my life.
hello chyros, you should review a brother dome and foil board!
Ah yes, I did a Teardown on them ages ago, but I don't think I've reviewed them yet. I'm not sure I even have one though! xD
@@Chyrosran22 lmk if you want me to send you a NOS one👀
@@chiShija Ooooh, thanks, that might be quite interesting actually =o .
Oh fun, they sent you a board that tries to clone a gmk colorway
One gay beer for my gay friend, and one normal beer for me, because I am normal.
i hope you enjoyed your uilenzeik!
It's not tea xD .
one of the best movies ever
98% 😂 is it worth it? I hate when they crush the cursor keys into other keys
Waffle as you like Tom, good to see you :-)
Haha cheers mate xD .
Hertog Jan beer is tasty. I drink Hertog Jan 0.0% myself and even went to the brewery in Arcen during my summer holiday in Limburg.
I was shocked when I found out that it is not, in fact, from Brabant xD .
I don't like that you lose the traditional place for the zero key, in the numpad cluster, it would screw up my muscle memory. Also a 98% form factor just seems odd, it seems the worst of both worlds, between a TKL and a 100% keyboard.
Having used them for a while you get used to the small 0 key and the skill is still portable back to full-size boards as it's just hitting the right side of the key.
The biggest loss are home cluster keys off the TLK. No pause/break etc.
