When I hear someone say..."Wait... isn't that Roz Focker?" I start to laugh because I know a new reacter is about to discover, both musically and theatrically, arguably the greatest artist of all time. Roz Focker, as popular a character as she was when "Meet The Fockers" hit theaters and streaming, is the least of her storied accomplishments. Barbra is both an icon and idol for many accomplished singers who rose to fame since Barbra's meteoric rise from the early 60s and beyond, through six decades. This particular video of "Evergreen" was the love theme to the 1976 version of "A Star Is Born," for which Barbra won an Oscar for Best Original Song with cowriter, Paul Williams. This was the actual recording session, done in one take, and used in the movie. The movie was a huge box office success, and, imo, better than the 2018 version, and a more original departure from the first two iterations previously done in 1937 and 1954. The 2018 version was pretty much a remake of the '76 version, but the chemistry between Gaga and Cooper, again imo, did not reach the intensity on screen of that of Streisand and Kristofferson. And consider this... Streisand originally wanted Elvis to play opposite her, but the Colonel kept that from happening. Kris though was pretty terrific. Barbra has also done dozens and dozens of duets over the years with some of pop music's greatest. Check out her collabs with Celine Dion and the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, to name but a few. If you go down the Barbra rabbit hole, I promise... you will be amazed and not disappointed. Very nice reaction👍...new subscriber.

First woman to win an Academy Award for composing (the music to this song). Only woman on list of top 10 actors bringing in most at box office for 1970s. Two Oscars, 8 Grammys (plus Life Time Achievement and Legend awards), 5 Emmys and Tony. Major philanthropist. Kris Kristofferson? Prolific songwriter, singer, musician, actor, Rhodes Scholar, Ranger, helicopter pilot, author. That a tip of the icebergs for both of them! 😊

Barbra has performed two duets with Barry Gibb, on her 1980's album Guilty which Barry wrote and produced. The songs were, Guilty and What Kind of Fool, both of which he performed with her live at a fundraising concert, One Voice, that featured Robin Williams as her opening act. The concert was performed outdoors on a stage built in her back yard. The actor in this video from A Star is Born is definitely Kristofferson.
