    The easiest fastest explanation. Based on a book. We are all born in a shell of innocence. As we grow and go thru life we face temptations/blood sweat and tears. As we experience life and it’s temptations, our shell of innocence cracks

    13:36 Basically it's a concept about loosing innocence and maturing. It's base on book Damian. Jin here is a person who grows up and he is innocent, and as he matures he has to face good and evil and find his self. Face temptations in order to mature

    Yes that's Suga on the stage raping with Jimin dancing behind the back stage Curtain as the 'Shadow'. Jimin yes that's a mix of his Contemporary Dance formal training and his Hip Hop dance training along with his intensive martial Arts training.
    Their fear of losing their passion for their art which did happen they nearly disbanded as they were emotionally, mentally and physically burnt out. But they over came it by talking and crying together then taking a month off for well earned bit of R&R (Rest and Recuperation).

    blood, sweat and tears and fake love are both part of BU. Im not sure if you know but BU is bts' fictional storyline, it consists of albums, books, webtoons, games, mvs, vcrs, concept pictures, films etc. and a kdrama of it is coming this year. I need U is the start.
    the story was left uncompleted in 2020 probably because of the pandemic cancelling all their plans, but it seems like its being continued starting this year. They also confirmed they'll release an hyyh album next year for its 10th anniversary
    Fake love shows the members facing the fears they have in BU and jin trying to protect them and their friendship but failing.
    Im not sure how exactly is blood sweat and tears connected to the storyline. The japanese version is obvious but the original ver. is also marked as BU content, i couldnt find anything related to bu in it except jin being the mc.

    Hi I am back. Good reaction(Black Swan), ty. This one has beautiful deep meaning of their lyrics. As you notice like lines " It would be my first death. That's what I'm afraid of ." It has that emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion for what they do. With this song BTS dives deep into their inner selves as artists and faces the shadows they had once hidden. The song lends voice to their fears that one day music will no longer be able to move or touch them. The very moment they come face to face with the ‘Black Swan’ within themselves, however, they are stricken with a paradoxical realization that music is all they have. It is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself. It's also inspired from Martha Graham, who said “A dancer dies twice once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.” Now with the band on a break from group work and focusing more on solo projects (solo albums). We know this was also a hint to us that they were struggling. Dude, the song is about their loss of passion for their art. There is no rebirth yet. At the end it's the shadow of Jks going away. I hope u watch all the performances for this song. =0] The choreo is more contemporary dance based not ballet. Stay safe. - 2019 ARMY NY USA 💜

    Black Swan ballet: changing from white to black swan - growing up, losing innocence.
    Black Swan movie - sacrificing mental and physical health to reach the top.
    Shadow/mirror images - self reflection.
    Black Swan: Mainly written by RM, the one you like, is about their fears of losing all passion for music, either writing it or performing on stage. It's also based on a quote by Martha Graham who was an important figure in the world of modern dance, "A dancer dies twice. Once when they stop dancing and this death is more painful." They've been doing this for a long time now and for some of them it's all they've ever done from a young age but realized music is their life.
    MsBeatrice_81 said on 3/19/22
    Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness. It wasn't normal for idols to open up about their personal troubles at all. In fact, doing so got some idols thrown out of their companies. It was also not normal or common to have a running storyline/theme that is carried through multiple albums and/or MVs and songs. But BTS did it all so successfully, and broke those stigmas, to the point that now many other Korean idol groups have started trying to do those things, with varying degrees of sincerity and success.
    This song, its lyrics and MV are part of the "Shadow" portion of BTS's Map of the Soul era, in which they released albums and songs based on Carl Jung's theories regarding the Persona, Shadow, and Ego. This track is an exploration of their "shadow" selves' fear that they may someday lose their passion for their art - they ask if perhaps they are already losing it- and they wonder what comes after that "first death" of the loss of passion. In the end, they continue to fight for their passion and their art, claiming they won't be swept away by these fears again. I would encourage you to think about how counter-cultural BTS is being in songs like this: Not only are they dealing with topics that were taboo only a few years ago, but they're being unbelievably personally vulnerable, sincere and open. This is why we love them so much, and I'm sure you will, too! 💜
    Example: A couple of weeks ago Jimmy Fallon had BTS on his late night show. They performed a song called Idol at This Idol performance at Gyeongbokgung Palace as a background and wearing hanboks. There are so many amazing location Rich with Ancient history. Here is a link to the idol performance, so you can see the background visual of the palace. czcams.com/video/MXFkjMNXfpY/video.html

    Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad you liked it. Great song. Adore it. Jimin was amazing in this. His voice the dance the fit, chef's kiss! We learn here that Suga can play the organ just as good as he can play the piano. He so awesome! All of them sound seductive just a pleasure for the ears. They look like they are in a museum to me. =0] I was so surprised by the choreo when i saw it seperate. They leave a lot out. Fire! =0p Also, pls check out the explanation video for this MV. V is a fallen angel to me. He gives in to temptation all of them do. If u read the lyrics and pay attention to the symbolism the song is clearly about temptation not a relationship. Hugs -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜

    A note about the organ music you might find interesting/relevant:
    The piece that is heard is Buxtehude's, "Passacaglia in D minor," which is also the piece that Emil hears in the Pistorius section of the novel.*

    I suppose you understand why this song has been used during lectures at uni haha. You're definitely on the right track, but there's sooo much more hidden in this song/mv. I love the explanation video by Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid ( czcams.com/video/5tlgAUE6yjg/video.html ). Fellow reactor Cedric Gegel actually did a great job breaking it down too, though he did it twice - first time for the more "apparent" meaning, and second time for the underlying meanings from the BU.

    Some trivia about cinematography for u guys 👀:
    • RM reads a paragraph of "Demian" by Herman Hesse at 2:30 in the music video. And at the very beginning, RM is shown reading "Demian" by Herman Hesse.
    • At the beginning of the video, Jin looks at a painting titled The Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegel.
    • When Jungkook is dangling on the swing in the MV 0:20, the painting behind him is called The Lament of Icarus by Herbert James Draper.
    • In J-Hope' solo scene in the MV, he is standing behind Michelangelo’s Pieta.
    • When V is sitting on the ledge of the balcony in the MV, in front of him is the painting Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, also by Bruegel.
    • Tha table part: Apples are a sign of temptation and sin (apples are also mentioned in Demian). And on each plate, we see that each member has a chalice and an apple. All these things right in front of them are “tempting” them to sin.

      @@kaz_72 He had to listen to Dionysus carefully. I really hope he gets that high note in backup vocal (I don't know the correct musical term for that). Mostly I saw people reacting to mma 2019 and Dionysus live stage so it is hard to listen if you don't focus on the song carefully

    • @kaz_72
      @kaz_72 Před 7 měsíci +4

      @Seokjin.the.gentleman yes he does alot of the backing vocals on Dionysius and even focal vocals during the song but because the live performance is so hype and the camera is trying to catch the whole atmosphere, it doesn't show you when it's him singing and people mistake him for V and Jimin.

    • @Seokjin.the.gentleman
      @Seokjin.the.gentleman Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@kaz_72According to me Dionysus camera work was ok. But you can say this in case of dimple. At first I didn't knew about his high note. We get Jin singing the deep register and it's transition to the falsetto part. But at the end when Jin is singing and at the back the high note is going on, people don't get it quite easily. So before watching to Dionysus live they must listen to Dionysus. It is that song, where it is a must listen then must watch.

It's part of the Love yourself albums. Also there are many reference's within the MV that won't make sense if you don't know any of the BU Bantang Universe story so don't worry if some of the images seem a bit strange.
