Great review and very accurate description of pros and cons. Mine have debonded more than once and the fogging I found to be persistent and very frustrating. I’ve now switched to Bilumix - fixed magnification but a much better light with no shadows. Still has some design issues with a weakness in the adjustable head band but I’m happier with these now. Might also be worth a review in future.

      Hi,
Yes I often switch between the magnifications 👍🏻

Hey, thank you for your comment.
I'm currently using the Lumadent light attached with these which work great and last for many hours. I may upload a video on these

Loved this review! I also found a similar issue with the loops but overall a great product which I wouldn't replace for a like for like!

    I have one.
I requested to have my declination angle at the maximum angle, which they told me was 35 degrees. When it was first delivered to me, I measured the angle and came out as 20. They screwed up and I had to return it to repair. It's a night and day difference with 35 degrees and the default 20.
I see 26-28 patients a day and wear this for 8 hours straight. The neck strain is definitely there after a long procedure. 2 long procedures after another, you need a break and stretch a lot. The strain is definitely there.
I've tried many other loupes. Clarity on orascoptic wins out of almost everything else. It's why I got it in the first place.
The fogging is there too, but it's just in the morning. First patient. I start by spraying air between my face and loupes and the fogging goes away. I also wipe my loupes with anti fogging glasses wipes on a weekly basis.
I did hesitate to return it for a 4.5x but I'm happy now. 3x for almost everything for me and 4x and 5x can be a godsend for endo sometimes. I use 4x for deep resto as well.
    😊

Hey, thank you for sharing your experiences.
Yes I agree the 35 degree declination angle does make a different, I would imagine the neck strain would be significantly worse otherwise...
They are great. And that's a good tip I'll forward that onto some colleagues 👍🏻

Would you recommend them in 2024?

    • @dentalreviewsYT

Hmm... Orascoptic now have the eyezoom max version which is just 2 magnifications but probably more useful. I'd like to get my hands on them to give them a go

@@dentalreviewsYT you don't think variable magnifications are more useful ?

    • @dentalreviewsYT
      @dentalreviewsYT  Před měsícem

The eyezoom max is variable magnification, 3.5x and 6.5x

I use this model and have done for the last 4 years or so. I tried the eyezoon max as a demo and did not like it. Their thinking is that most clinicians use the 3 and the 5 and not the 4x zoom. I love my eyezooms and wouldn't change a thing
