    So cool my grandpa worked in the garnet mill up emerald creek just outside of Fernwood Idaho its my favorite place to go, garnets everywhere.

      I’m glad you liked the video. The garnets are fused into the rayolite. So probably not. But I’m sure the host rocks were covered at one time.

    This is really cool content to watch. I'm glad the algorithms sent me here. I just moved to near Boulder from Atlanta, and was excited to see what can be found near by. Subbed, thumb up and shared with friends. The cave was awesome! I would have been terrified it was inhabited. Youre a brave soul.

    Garnets are so pretty, no matter how small, they make beautiful jewelry
    , you should come to Utah to the obsidian beds, you can literally take buckets full in just minutes

    I walked up that same trail and found lots of red garnets and obsidian on the top of the mountains, mostly on the west side/top. Awesome to see you go to a spot I’ve actually been too! I love your content!

    Great video ! I just got myself an Estwing also. Works really well. I’m only here in Colorado for another week. Wish I would have seen our video a month ago. I’m always looking for new areas to hound. Ive heard of Ruby Mtn., but, haven’t made it there yet. Gonna have to try it next year. Thanks for sharing.

    I really appreciate that you keep it real with your videos. I can't count how many times I have cursed out my backpack for falling off my shoulder at awkward moments 😃. I think the obsidian in the matrix would be amazing. I have never seen natural pearlite before. Keep on hounding.

    I have been to Ruby Mt. and found a few but didn't go back on the trail like you did. Wish I had. Love those Apache Tears and you found some really nice ones. Hope you enjoyed your trip....I would have stayed around for the snow...LOL

    Since Garnets are attracted to a magnet it would be interesting to drag a strong magnet around that prospect.

      @Michael PacNW Varies by the amount of iron in the garnet. It is one of the ways to tell the difference between ruby and garnet.

      Don't forget different minerals can cause different colors to happen for the gem that is born...

    Ivans I'm jealous; you have so many awesome adventures. This was the most scenic of your videos to date. I had a great idea for the large ammonites you found in Texas. Stand them vertical, on a flat base, with a 5/8" hole drilled top to the flat base. Install light fixtures with an appropriate shade which can be found at any Ace Hardware. They would make perfect man cave light fixture for a desk or end table. Btw...thanks for taking this shut-in with you on your outings. Keep up the good work. Be safe..
