- Easy going Andrew has his hands full with Sabrina, his spend-a-holic bride. She coaxes money out of her frugal fiancé by saying that he should pay for things if he really loves her. Will love be enough? Will this Fall-themed wedding be cursed with falling dollars?
Bridesmaids & groomsmen DO NOT WANT gifts tagged with the wedding couples name or their wedding date. Those type gifts end up in a junk drawer. I also think flashy rides are a waste of money. No one sees it but the wedding party.
Items with the wedding couples names end up at the thrift stores LOL- Perfect for the homeless population.
You make a lot of good points but I don't think "no one sees it but the wedding party" is one of them. Mostly because it's like you're saying that everyone else's opinion matters but the person who wanted the thing. I'm sorry, I just don't agree with that view.
For example, say I buy a dress (not a wedding dress, just a regular casual dress). But after trying it on again at home, I decide I don't like it. But my mom says I should keep it because everyone else will like it. Why is it that my opinion doesn't matter when I'm the one who's stuck wearing it? Why is it that everyone else's opinion matters except my own when it effects me the most? No, that's ridiculous.
In the same way, it doesn't matter if "no one sees it but the wedding party." It's the bride and groom's day. So if that's what they want to see, that's what matters.
Super annoying that the mom went ahead and bought the favors and had the audacity to expect the bride to pay for them when she made it clear they weren't doing traditional favors. Ridiculous.

The venue needed something like tall centerpieces and some kind of treatments to the walls and ceiling. There were no chandeliers, nothing, but a blank.

That would have paid for my new house and also all new furniture.(back in 1972). A 3 bdrm house.
Imagine I spent $500 to get married 25 years ago. We still never had the money for down payment on house. Spending less doesn’t mean you have down payment for house. Their money and their decision.

Money problems are a relationship killer. It is a very bad sign when you are fighting and blowing money at this level. If they are still married I would be shocked. But also, I think she gets it from her mother. Her mother was just awful.
They are still married, have 2 kids, one is my Bestfriend. Sabrina is the kindest lady I have ever met.

I originally wanted pumpkins all over my wedding however, after talking to the florist and everyone I decided against it. I love pumpkins still but for my wedding it is better to leave them out. It is still a wonderful fall theme just without pumpkins.

I really don't get the whole pumpkin obsession. Fall is so much more than pumpkins, or did I get something wrong. It looked a little bit like Halloween
I have been to birthday parties where they say in lieu of gifts we are asking for donations for xyz charity which is an awesome thing to do and selfless.
And of course it is nice to donate to charities but I find it extremely odd when these couples say they are donating to charities as the favors for the guests of their wedding...like it doesn't make sense to me at all. And the donations are going to be in the couple's name not the guests names... Like how is that a gift in anyway for your guests. The real negative part of me is like I bet half the couples that do this are just saying they are donating to charity in lieu of wedding favors to save face for not having favors and just donate like 10 dollars to the charity or maybe don't even donate anything at all and no one would ever know...
Only donating 500 bucks to 4 charities isn’t anything really. But that’s less then they would spend on wedding favors. I think if ur donating to charity it should be the amount u would spend on favors. But hey that’s just me….
All the gifts and cash they will be getting from the guest's and they can't buy some low cost favors for these people making their day.
I feel like the only way it would work is if you adopted an animal in each guests name (like you can do from WWF and a plethora of other organizations) and place the certificate, photo of their adopted animal, etc. at each guest’s place setting.
I think it's kinda ridiculous that people expect there to be guest favors anyway. How can anyone have a budget friendly wedding if they have to spend that much extra money on guests. They're already paying for the guests to eat. They shouldn't expect favors anyway

I’m not a typical Spoiled American. I’m 67. We were poor. So much so that I’m not the kind of person, who grew up getting everything I wanted. We received the essential items. What we were in need of. My dad didn’t have the money for a wedding so we had to pay for the wedding. It was held at the church hall. My in laws baked or cooked what we needed. Had music. From a radio. Lasted maybe 2-3 hrs. Everyone loved it cause it was more talking to one another. Long before cell phones. The art of conversation. Sad, but it’s almost a dinosaur.
I've seen Bridezilla's from many countries. I'm an American. My wedding was very budget friendly. Our wedding & reception pics showing our decor is on our venue's online page & brochure. We paid for everything & I did a lot of DIY.

They should have held money back for a house if thats truly what they want or wait on a house for a couple of years . However they both were living with parents and needed somewhere to live .A place to live would take priority

When I planned my wedding, my fiancee and both my Mom and future Mother in law were all involved with the wedding plans. And we all got the wedding we wanted and everything only cost $2000 dollars, which both sets of parents paid half for everything. Our wedding was simple but beautiful.
This show must be staged. It's hard to imagine that anyone would ever act like this! :-) it's fun to watch but in a real relationship I cannot imagine being with a woman like this. I understand that people want big weddings but at the end of the day, they're gonna be broke for a long time. Is it really worth it??

My niece made her center pieces out of Styrofoam pumkins,her colors were orange and navy blue ,the center pieces had giant sunflowers in them and were gorgeous.

Me and my husband had a Chicago Blackhawks themed wedding.and we used a bride jersey that said 20 and a groom jersey that said 17 as the guest book at our wedding.
