Finally a sketchbook tour of a real sketchbook instead of a book full of finished presentation artworks! I like your style, and the way you explore different drawing and painting tools. They do influence the way you draw, and, ultimately, the way you visualize. Your subject matter is for the most part fun, innocent and unpretentious, like the kid’s books I grew up with (I was born in 1958). Funny that this type of work requires just as much practice, expertise and sheer work to realize as do illustrations of savage sword-wielding barbarians, pustulent zombies, or armored space cruisers. Thanks for the opportunity to see it.
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed peeking at my sketchbook! 💛
The pouty Dorothy reminds me of the faces from Norman Rockwell’s work!
Awww thank you!! 💛
These are my favourite kinds of sketchbooks!
My favorite too!! 💛
I love love love it! Your sketchbook is bursting with life and ideas and love for art. I think every time I'll be afraid to mess up my sketchbook, I'll come back here to remind myself how beautiful a messy and organic sketchbook can be. You're truly an inspiration!
Awee thank you!! Messy sketchbooks are so important to me. It’s a reminder for me that art is still art even when it isn’t “perfect”. 🥰
I love this video. So helpful to see where the finished peices come from qnd how much work, tries and studies went into them. Thank wou for sharing this sketchbook tour with us !
Thank you so much for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed my tour 💛
I've always been a huge fan of your completed sketchbook tours, but I'm glad to see the "behind the scenes" sketchbook. 😊
This really shows the process of your art and how it's not about perfection at first try. Really encouraging :) Also, those J.C. Leyendecker studies and that little wooden toaster!! Ahhh sooooooooo adorable!! 😍
Thank you so, so much Minal!! 💛
great Oz character studies🙂
lol yep! burn the hell out of the marshmallows for smores! adds to the flavor 🥰
love the dragons in cardis lol 😀
Thank you so much!! And yessss the burnt is a whole new flavor dimension 💛
So many good sketches in there! Love seeing the good and the messy. how the artist gets to the final drawing/painting. :D
P.S. in answer to your question, my marshmallows have to be evenly golden brown. Then I pull off the golden brown outside, eat that, leaving the the gooey inside on the skewer and roast that again! lol
Thank you so, so much!! 💛 Mmmmm that sounds amazing!! I love that your re-toast yours 😂
This is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing
Awww thank you so much!!💛
Loved this tour!! 😍😍😍
Ahh thank you, Lauren!! 💛
lovely nice sketchbook tour. i love "messie" sketchbooks 🥰🥰💖💖 they are so "real"
Thank you so much for watching!! I love messy sketchbooks too. There's something very sweet about artists creating with no grand expectations of it turning into something beautiful!
I'm BEGGING for a Dragon-in-Cardigan sticker, please and thank you.
Bahaha hopefully soon 😉💛
I turned on notifications, so i started watching the video immediately, thanks for sharing your sketches! I would like to say that I really like your art❤️
Art was a hobby and an escape for me for a long time because I spent a bit too much time in the hospital when I was a kid, now it means a lot more to me. I even have an instagram account now for my illustrations:) But the thing is, the learning process never ends and I think that's a good thing. There's always a lot of material, a lot of techniques and more to learn. Learning is always a bit challenging, but so is knowing how to learn. I admire the way you paint complicated illustrations, I wonder what your learning process is like? Maybe you have an experience or a tip you can share
Awee thank you so, so much!! I’m so glad you’ve been pursuing your own creative journey. 💛 My number one tip would be to not be afraid of failure. Failure is a CRUCIAL part of the learning process!! I also have a video on developing my own DIY art school (how I’ve been learning art on my own), if you’re interested in checking it out! 💛
Keep it up, you are only inspiring me to go on. Good job!!
Awww thank you so much!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video 💛
A light sear, enough to make it a little gooey on the inside but not enough to burn it black.
Mmmm that sounds good!! 💛
Amazing sketchbook! I personally think that sketchbooks are supose to be messy ;)
Awee thank you!! And I agree, messy sketchbooks are SO CRUCIAL for artists 💛
marshmallows should always be a little burnt, thats my preference [:
Bahaha yessss!! 💛
who The Dool Draw you plzzz Do Thes a vedio
how do you learn how to draw tips for a beginner at what point should you start selling art you should sell at art festivals as much as you can
Your idea of an “ugly” sketchbook is very different from mind
Bahaha we all have different ideas and standards for our sketchbooks, I suppose. That's what makes our art so beautifully unique to each of us!! 💛
