It might seem strange to some but I like listening to the Messiah and I am an atheist.
My school days as a chorister will forever be memorable to me for the rest of my life
I am not a Mormon but, these choristers look and sound _sublime_
The Messiah Oratorio is, for me, the one piece of music that I would never get sick off, no matter how many times I hear it.
I am sure G.F. Handel had some divine inspiration when he composed this gem!
This is not a "Mormon" piece.

Just to point out, most of the music was reused from... less than holy operas he had previously composed😅

This is the first " classical music " I heard and sang in High School many moons ago. Then years later I heard the Messiah and I am still very much in love with it and other pieces of Handel. This is definitely Heavens music 🎶 🎵

Soul lifting, I feel the presence of God listening to this angelic music. We once sang it during a singing competition and I love it.
I remember singing with this choir (one of my life wishes) when I visited during a rehearsal. Of course with 650 voices they never heard me but OH BOY was I singing!

Oh, they heard you alright! Oh, I should like very much to sing it with a choir too - the mezzo and the soprano parts - , and then the mezzo airs and then the soprano airs. That would make at least four performances with me singing the different parts I can. I'm training my voice for it too. 😊🙏🏽🙌🏽

Messiah de Haendel. Œuvre inspirée, monumental à la Gloire de Notre Seigneur Jésus Christ. Je l'ai découverte à 25 ans avec le Hallelujah. Jusqu'à ce jour 75 ans je ne passe pas de semaine sans sublimer mon âme en écoutant cette Œuvre.
Handel was a magnificent composer, and "The Glory Of Lord" is my favourite part of "The Messiah".
One of my greatest things over the years was attending a practice session in the small church atSalt Lake City and hearing the choir. It was an a cappella event too
My favorite chorus from the Messiah. I've been blessed to have been able to sing the oratorio about 30 times with different choirs over the years. A holiday tradition.

I would honestly say that this is one of the best performances of the Halleluja. Perfect tempo, good phrasing, excellent musicians!! Majestetic as it is supposed to be!! 👏🏻

I remember how we dished it out at St. Stephen's church Igbobi . To God be the Glory.
My school children sang this song in their competition and it was heart melting, Glory to the work of music.

MoTab. The Mormons have kept the music. This is the gold standard. Best choir in the world imo although there is another choir up the road called University of Utah Singers that turn heads.
I have always enjoyed Messiah and this is one of my favorite pieces in Messiah besides the Hallelujah Chorus. I don't think I have heard anyone sing this better than the Tabernacle Choir except for the people who were involved in the 250th Anniversary of Messiah.

I didn’t like the pause between shall be (pause) reveled at the begging. I know it’s their own tribute and perhaps wanted to make their own version of it. With Handel you don’t make your own version. You just sing it as written. It was always perfect and magnificent the way Handel wrote it !

I think that many large organs such as that one might have those pipes at the front just for show, whilst the actual pipes that are used are behind those. Perhaps they are functional in this organ though...
