- I stopped by Cards HQ while in Atlanta. I got to look around and hunt for deals on vintage. I had a real good time! Props to Geoff Wilson @SportsCardInvestor for opening such a great card shop and providing this space for collectors to enjoy.
#cardshop #vintage #baseballcards - Sport
Thanks for stopping by our shop!! I really appreciate you visiting and thanks for the review. Nice pickups as well. Hope to see you next time! -Geoff
Keep up the great work over there. I love the shop and what you’re doing. I’ll definitely be back! Thank for checking out the video, Geoff.
2:16 I hate it when people just throw away cards that aren't "Hits". Geoff should put out some boxes by the breaker tables for unwanted cards that could be donated to the Children's hospital.
I agree, that’s a great idea. Hopefully they start doing that because a lot of children will appreciate having and looking through those. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
It actually looks like a pretty cool place.Nice choices my friend
It is pretty cool. I’d hang out here a lot if it was close by. Thanks for checking it out, Jayson
That store is on a whole nother level!!! Geoff designed it right! I give it an A+!
I agree..gotta give the man props. He definitely did it right. Thanks for watching!
New sub,thanks for sharing!!👍😎💯
I appreciate you stopping by and for subscribing. I’m heading over to check out your channel. Thanks!
Thanks for the tour, Hugo! It looks like you got some great deals! Kar thought the cards looked cool, standing upright in the display cases. The wrestling section had some GIANT CARDS...man 😂 Glad you had a terrific time in Atlanta!
Thank you so much for watching, Dre & Kar! I love the displays too. So much easier to see everything and utilize space. The wrestling section is the one I really took my time to look at because I normally don’t see much of it at shops. Atlanta is so much fun and this has made it even better! Thanks guys 😊
@signsofthepastime We need to make it out to Atlanta. Our friend, Bob, has a shop in Marietta, Georgia. BP Sports Collectibles. He's a GIANT in the hobby! You'll love him ❤️ as we do! Take care, brother
That’s a great looking shop! Definitely a lot of goodies there! Thanks for the tour!
Awesome pickups! I don’t know the comps but I feel that $12 for that SP ARod is a good deal! Love the Rocky Colavito! He’s an under appreciated player in my opinion!
Yeah when I saw it that cheap it just felt super low. Comps on eBay have been selling for about double that and the Rocky C. rookie even more than double what I got this one for. I agree that he’s under appreciated . For a decade he was one of the most feared sluggers in the game. Thank you for checking this one out, Jim!
Thank you so much! I've been hoping to get a glimpse of that shop since I first heard it was opening. You da man!!
Oh man, that’s great! I was hoping some guys would be interested in seeing what they had so I’m happy to hear this. Thanks for tuning in, Eric!
Hi Hugo! Thanks for the tour. The prices did seem very fair. I was pretty surprised with all the prewar.
Really nice pickups! I really liked that Matsui you picked up. As well as the Colavito looked great. That was a nice grab, especially for $20.
I wish more card shops would have fair prices. Like you said “can’t knock the hustle” on any of them. I just get tired of walking out of so many because they mark their prices so high. It’s almost like some don’t care they just want to take advantage of the people who don’t know.
Thanks for sharing Hugo! Seemed like you have a great trip. Have a great weekend and hope all is well.
I feel the same way, Andy! I stopped going to my LCS because the prices are just too high. I think what Geoff is doing should work well for him. His prices were really good across the board and some were well below comps. It’s also a nice place to just hang out. It was fun to stop by and check out. I was happy that my wife was excited about it as well while on vacation 😃 Thank you for watching my friend and I hope you have a great week!
I’ve honestly never seen anyone show any footage from inside but I must say I am pleasantly surprised. Definitely a lot of variety and the prices did not look too bad at all. You found some great cards for a bargain. I would have done the same thing looking for some “cards no one wants” because of the grade or holder. Thanks for sharing Hugo!
Yeah I’ll take the ones nobody wants any day. There was an Arod PSA 8 for $65 in the same case as the BGS 8.5 one I bought for $12 🤷🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️ Glad you checked this out and enjoyed it, Joe. I appreciate you leaving a comment!
Awesome as always my friend yeah boy. Keep rocking it 🎉
Thank you, Ken! I appreciate you my friend 🎉
Hi Hugo, thanks for the tour. Those prices seem pretty fair. I like all of your pickups. Colavito was a favorite of my father and father-in-law. I picked up his rookie last year with a gift card my oldest daughter gave me for Father's Day. The BGS A-Rod Rookie was a nice buy. I have been looking at BVG cards a little more lately because the value is there. I always try to stretch my hobby budget for the cards I really want and some of the BVG cards I am seeing are going for half of what PSA is selling for. While I prefer PSA, if the card is of the quality I am looking for, i will pull the trigger regardless of if it is SGC, BVG or PSA. For what it's worth, you get my seal of approval. Haha. Have a great weekend, my friend.
That’s great to hear about Colavito. He was a special player and that is a great way you got his rookie card. I’ve also been looking at BVG and BGS cards lately. There was a PSA 8 Arod in the case with this BGS 8.5 I bought. That one was listed at $65 so I saved quite a bit on a better condition card. I also prefer PSA graded cards but once in a while I’ll take the big savings and go with the BGS. Thank you for watching and for your comment, Terry. I hope you have a great week!
Well I'm not the biggest Geoff fan but the shop looks great. I was pleasantly surprised to see prewar.
There's another big new store in my town of Alpharetta called Giant that pales in comparison.
He did do a good job with this shop. Lots to do and I had a great time. I’ll have to visit Alpharetta sometime. Would love to meet up and check out Giant. Thanks for watching, Gordon!
Thx for the tour!
I appreciate you tuning in to check this one out! I appreciate it
Thanks for the tour brother! Those wrestling cards look sweet dude! Hope you're having a good day! 💪😁🤘
Thanks for checking it out brother!! I was surprised but happy that they had a wrestling section and really good stuff too. Hope you’re having a great week so far 💪
Looks like it has about everything. Leaning towards ultra modern but that kind of the way the hobby is. I like that you can look up comps. It would be awesome if dealers at shows had that.
Great cards. Love that Rocky rookie. Nice stuff for sure
Yeah I think having the Market Movers available helps keep them competitively priced. In a lot of cases even lower than comps. I was expecting mostly all modern but I was surprised at the amount of vintage and prewar. It made the visit even better than I expected. Thanks for watching, Drew!
Super video Hugo. What a fantastic looking store. They seemed to have everything. Big Congrats on the great pickups. That Rocky Colavito card is so good. What a great price. Congrats on the great additions and thanks for sharing. Enjoyed.
This place was even better than I expected. He really did a great job with the shop to make it a place that everyone with any budget can go and have a good time. Thank you for watching, Ed, I really appreciate it!
Good stuff, nice video🔥
Thanks Mike! I knew where the vintage area was thanks to watching your videos 😄
Glad you had fun Hugo!
Thanks Jake! I appreciate you watching brother
Love that A-Rod pickup for 12 bucks! Nice Colavito there too! And a $5 slabbed Godzilla! Great stuff, Hugo. Well done.
I used to go crazy buying cards like the Arod years ago. It’s nice to get one back in the collection and at that price. I was happy with the deals, I’ll have to be prepared to pick up more deals next time I go. Thanks for watching, Josh
Hugo this was a fun video! I have not heard of this Card shop before, but it looked pretty sweet in there! Very shiny new screens, clean cases, streamlined! The card shops that I go to were mostly stacked up boxes with a old card, smell, and some old guy flipping through cards in the back and that’s what I’m used to. Lol!!that is an awesome Arod rookie card for 12 bucks. Yes, please! Thanks for taking us on the trip!
Yeah, this place is definitely state of the art. Far from what I’m used to also. I normally go to shops and go over dollar boxes that have been there for years. This place will never be that but I did enjoy it. Pretty cool spot to just hang out. I was happy to find stuff I like. The Arod was too good a deal to pass up as was the Rocky rookie. Yes please indeed 😁 Thanks for watching, Jason!
Thank you for the Tour of the shop. I love the Atlanta area when I lived there in the Early 2000's. I would get in trouble at Braves games when my Mets came into town.
Haha they don’t care too much for the Mets or their fans in Atlanta, that’s for sure. Pretty cool that you lived there for a while, Pastor Ken. Thanks for watching!
Nice pickups Hugo, can’t beat those deals. That place looks amazing. I think I could spend all day there. You’re crushing it down in Atlanta. Thanks for sharing, hopefully you’re having a nice trip
It really is a shop that you could spend all day at. Lots of great deals there. Also on a busy day I’m sure there are breaks and other fun things going on so definitely a fun place to be. I only spent a few hours in Atlanta but I got to do some cool things. Thanks for watching, Mike!
Great review of the store Hugo. Awesome pickups. Great Godizilla pickup. Also love the Colavito, a guy who needs more recognition.
Totally agree, Eric! Rocky was one of the top sluggers for years but seems to have been forgotten. Thank you for watching, I hope you have a great week!
Thanks for showing us around, I wonder if they work with people on sticker price. Seemed like most stuff was priced decently.
I wondered the same thing but didn’t ask. I’d guess on the high end stuff the employees may be able to. I’ll have to check next time I go back . Thanks for checking this one out, Ed
Giant video….man! Great job showing all who aren’t close what the hub hub is about. I love the G Wilson audio drops lol. And a Giant Card Man. Loved every bit! You got out of there cheap!
The Geoff audio plays when you walk in the door 😆 I couldn’t help throwing that in there. Always fun finding giant cards…man….literally. Now that I know the deals he’s got I’ll go back prepared to get a different type of giant card..man, and make a sequel. I wonder if Geoff will accept an invitation to join the Mega Collectors 🤔
Great tour Hugo! The vintage stuff looked reasonably priced. I love how the trash can next to the breaker arena is filled with cards... Great pickups! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah I couldn’t believe how many cards were in the trash! I was tempted to go dumpster diving in the back 😆 They did have some great deals which was nice to see. I stopped going to my LCS because the prices were too high so seeing this was good. Thanks for watching, Darren..have a great week brotha
@@signsofthepastime Thanks Hugo! Have a great week as well!
Nice video. That shop looks pretty good. I think you had some sweet pickups. I wondered if they would negotiate if asked?
I wondered the same thing while I was there. I should have asked but I will next time. I’d guess they do on higher end stuff. Thanks for checking this one out, Mike, glad you liked it
Dope Arod. I would have bought it too!!
Hard to pass up that deal! That was the hot card for a while when I was a kid. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the card shop tour. Great deal on that Colavito.
Thank you for tuning in, Daniel. I was really happy to find the Colavito. I’ve wanted that one for a long time.
Hello ,thanks for the tour, you picked up some great cards forsome great prices, specialy this 1957 Topps Rocky Colavito...😍. Thanks you for sharing and Happy Collecting.
Hey Fabien! I appreciate you watching the video and for your comment. I was really happy with what I found. I’ve been wanting a Colavito rookie for a while, it’s nice to get it here at this shop.
Fun pickups Hugo! Love the Matsui, great deal there
Thank you, Austin! It was a nice surprise to find that one and at that price. I appreciate you watching!
Great store, thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you for checking it out, Orlando!
Thanks for the review Hugo. A lot more vintage than I expected.
Yeah they had a good amount and good selection. I was surprised by the low prices. Thanks for watching, Drew! Good to know you’re doing well after the gum eating 😄
@@signsofthepastime I think the mold on the gum helped me get over my cold. lol Thanks Hugo.
So happy this video is getting a lot of views! Your channel needs more eyeballs on it! Great video, really felt I was there with you, congrats on the beautiful Rocky!
Thanks Theo, I appreciate you saying that bro! Glad you enjoyed it and it was fun to find stuff I liked at the shop.
Thanks for the tour ! Nice Pickups. Rocky RC...niiice!
I’ve been wanting a Rocky rookie for a while and I’d always pass it up but at $20 it was too good to pass up this time. Thanks for watching, Derek. Glad you enjoyed it!
Shop looks great, thanks for the tour Hugo! You picked out three great cards, congrats. If they had one of these in my area I’d hit it up for sure.
It’s definitely a great spot even to just hang out and watch games in the lounge. I had a lot of fun and I was pleasantly surprised at their selection and prices. Thanks for watching, Shane..have a great week bro
Cool video. I only do football but that was a good review of a shop
I basically only do baseball but it was nice to see their football section. I appreciate you watching. Thank you for leaving a comment!
Cool video. I got to ask what's up with the height requirement in the parking lot? I only saw those in parking garages. Nice Rocky card. Thanks for the video tour.👍 Take care.
I was wondering the same thing when I pulled up. My guess was so big trucks don’t drive down the car aisles but I really don’t know. I’ll ask next time I’m there. I appreciate you checking this one out! Have a great week
Fun tour and nice pickups 👍
Thank you for watching, Brian! I appreciate you leaving a comment and now I know about your channel. Glad you enjoyed the tour
@@signsofthepastime thanks Hugo! 👍😊
I would say Geoff did a very nice job of making that dream a reality. Thanks for the tour. Nice pickups and everything but please tell me you picked up the row of cards you knocked over?
Lol I did pick it up, pet peeve of mine when I see it done 😆 I went through the $1 boxes a couple of times hoping something would jump out at me that didn’t the first time haha. The shop was very nice. I was really impressed. Thanks for watching, Eddy!
This was awesome man what an incredible store. I would loose my mind it I had that store near me. I love how they price there cards on comps makes it so much easier than your local card shop where prices are 10 x what they should be 😂😂. Man that vintage row wow !! Thanks for the tour Hugo and incredible pick ups
😆😂 for real! My LCS marks the prices way up. If you don’t negotiate you’re going to way overpay. I like the way they do it here. The cards are already priced at comps. What a shop and I’d be here a lot if I lived close by. Thanks for checking it out Dylan
@@signsofthepastime My LCS doesn't even entertain negotiation. Either buy it...or go online and buy it which is usually what happens. Lol.
Thanks for the tour! Awesome Colavito pickup. Great to see that your video is getting lots of views. Well made as usual.
Thanks John! Pretty shocking at how many people are interested in watching this but it’s cool. I appreciate you being one of them 👊
Pretty cool card store! Nice pickups!
Thank you! Definitely the coolest I’ve been to. I appreciate you watching
Wow, that’s a huge card shop. Surprised to see so many sweet vintage cards. Love the Rocky card! Thanks for sharing, Hugo! Cheers!
Yeah, I was surprised about the selection. I didn’t expect it at this type of modern shop so it was a great surprise. Thank you for watching, Paul. Have a great week!
From what the video shows, the prices were really fair (and good!). When I'm in the ATL, I'll be stopping by
They really were. I think you’ll find good deals when you go there. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for taking us through Cards HQ. I will be in Atlanta in about a week. I will have to stop by to check out the shop. Nice Colavito card.
That’s awesome, Ken! Definitely stop by if you can. I think you’ll have a good time and find some deals. Have a good time in Atlanta. Thanks for checking this video out!
Thanks for the virtual tour!
I appreciate you checking it out!
Love seeing cards in the trash…..nice to see Jeff Wilson care about the hobby!!!!! How many PSA 10 base cards could be in circulation if they weren’t in the trash??? Now the trash cards are trash…….
Yeah I was surprised to see that. I was tempted to grab them from the trash and look through them 😆 I don’t know who threw them out, it could have been someone who used the space other than Geoff but whoever it is I hope they change the way they see cards. I grew up near a shop that used to give out free cards to kids and I’d go by all the time to pick up some common cards. One of my favorite memories as a kid collecting cards.
$20 for a Rocky rookie?! Steal of a deal right there. Looks like you had fun, Hugo.
I couldn’t pass up that deal! Rocky’s rookie is one of the best looking cards in my opinion. I definitely had a great time..thanks for watching, Skaght!
That’s what I’m talking about, baby! Great tour- I like the beats in the background. Some nice prices - it’s nice to be able to handle and eyeball items first hand plus no shipping and handling fees. That’s what I like about supporting LCS. Thanks for the tour my friend-good collecting 👍❤️
Thank you, amigo! The beats helped enhance the video for sure. I agree, I’d rather check things out in person and support the local shops. His prices on a lot of things were well under eBay comps. Fun place to hang out!
I latterly laughed out loud to your third person response to the Hulk Hogan question “ What ya gunna do?” That was great. I think that same store was recently shown on Chasing Cardboard before the store opened.
Haha I have to do it every time I see the Hulkster but I had to respond this time. I’ve missed a few episodes of CC so I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for watching, Greg!
That was a cool card shop .😊
It really is! I appreciate you watching. Have a great day!
Awesome looking store! I miss going to retail shops like this, it kind of reminds me of going to places like Blockbuster as a kid. You just don't get that same kind of experience when everything is purchased online.
Great pickups! subbed!
Now that you mention it, it did feel like browsing through movies at Blockbuster! It did feel nice shopping at a store like this as opposed to all online. I’ve bought most of my collection online but this was way more fun. Nice that the prices were great, too.
Thank you for watching and for subscribing. I really appreciate it!
@@signsofthepastime Yeah man! Hopefully the store stands the test of time! As much as I love the online deals and scavenger hunt of it all, nothing beats the satisfaction of finding a gem in person. 😎
Digging the content, brother!
Good stuff Hugo! I havent been yet but am looking forward to checking it out! Next time you plan a trip to ATL, let me know, I have season tickets to the Braves, maybe me, you and Drew can catch a game and visit Cards HQ together! Would be fun!!
Man, that would be awesome, Jared! I’ll let you know for sure when I go up again. The most fun I’ve had at a game was actually a July 4th game at Truist Park a few years ago. I’d love to go back and hang with you guys. Thanks for thinking of that!
Nice pickups, Hugo...and thanks for the great tour. Looks like a great shop.
Thank you for watching, Mike. I didn’t know what to expect but I can say I was pleasantly surprised with this shop.
Thanks for sharing. Some great footage Hugo. For all of the hate Geoff Wilson, the prices at the store don't seem so bad. Looks to be aligned with eBay comps. Where as, certain dealers are well above the recent comps.
Yeah, it’s cool of him to keep the prices at the going rate. I was surprised to see that but do appreciate it. Thanks for checking it out, Andrew
Hugo, thanks for providing the footage on Card HQ. Was wondering how the layout would look. Definitely a modernized place of your typical card store. I'm sure time would fly by if I visited there. Hopefully some day! Who knew your were looking for ex Yankees in Matsui and A-Rod, lol. But how can you not be a fan of what those guys accomplished. I was looking for Colavito RCs a couple weeks ago, not near that $20 range so awesome find.
lol I couldn’t help myself and especially at those prices! The Arod SP rookie has always been one of my favorite cards so it’s nice to get it so cheap. Just like the Colavito rookie, one of my favorite cards now. Hope you found a nice one for yourself. Thanks for watching, Sammy!
Any negotiation at HQ?
I didn’t ask. The employees were really young and I assumed they wouldn’t be able to negotiate..that’s my bad. I’ll have to find out when I go back. I appreciate you watching
New sub. Just started ripping videos. Thanks for sharing. Nice store.
Nice! Good luck on your rips. I’m gonna check them out. Thanks for stopping by and for the sub 👍
Looks like a high end Dispensary
😂 it does!
Common base cards in the trash. My hobby is dead.
Yeah that was wild to see! Hopefully they’ll change how they handle the commons and put them to good use. I appreciate you watching!
Learn to evolve, they’re worth nothing.
@@trentwest9987 a hobby doesn't have to be about worth or making a profit. That is a business.
One day one of those commons could hit, and how much space does a stack of cards really take up.
@@JackCecilno
They sold quite a bit opening night
I heard they did pretty well. Good for them, the shop is awesome! I was happy to see such great prices. Thank you for watching, John.
big ole empty store. Was this during business hours?
I was there around lunch on Tuesday. I figured it was going to be quiet at that time. Big ole store for sure. I gotta go back when it’s hopping. Thanks for watching
@@signsofthepastime Yeah I guess there wont always be people in there.
Omg I think I have vertigo now. I’m dizzy.
Sorry about the movement and speed. I was trying to give more of an overview of the shop instead of a slow, detailed look. I appreciate you watching
Pretty cool video for a weird dude
You spelled awesome wrong. If you think I’m weird, you should meet my nieces 🤪
why didnt u spend more if deals were so great
Lol it was hard enough to convince my wife to stop at a card shop while on vacation then to dip into our funds 😆 I’m happy with what I walked away with. Thanks for watching
The staff and vibe of this dump is horrible. Soulless.
The staff was great with me and the vibe was chill for a Tuesday morning when I visited. They were playing some of my favorite songs which I liked. Idk if you’ve visited in person but you may be surprised. Thanks for checking the video out
it's been rainy off and on in lowerstate New York to!!!
I see a Sandy Koufax in a 2, Ted Williams ,
nice Hideki , Alex Rodriguez rookie , 1957 Rocky Colovito
it's hard to see if the prices are good , great or fair and is it good because it's good or is good because your in Atlanta?
like what you said in the 5:30 to 5:35 range can you get these cards?
High number card sets not cards meaning a high number but cards that came out later in the year
1966 cards 523 to 598 ?
1967 534 to 609 does he have card 538 Jc Martin, 540 Norm cash , 580 Rocky Cloivito and 605 Mike Shannon?
in good condition how much is each card worth and bad condition how much are the cards worth?
1968 How much is Jim Palmer worth in good condition and how much is it worth in bad condition card 575
for 1968 there are no good high numbers only the Reds team card and Palmer?
do they have traded sets say 1974 and 1976?
for 1969 do they have cards that are both in white lettering and yellow?
any Hall of fame neighbors?
like 1966 John odom
Rene Latchman
Skip Lockwood
1973 Mike Garmen
Cecil Cooper
1974 Ron Cey
John Hilton
1971 Dave Mcdonald
1967 Billy Sorrel
1968 Bill Denhy
any cards of the late 70's common players small stars and hall of famers?
Great questions, Mark! I guess they don’t have anything you want. I was taking more in general like modern, vintage, autos, relics, numbered cards, etc. I like looking for those type of cards, too. Unfortunately this shop didn’t have anything like that but hopefully in the future because they sure have the space to have that inventory.
The prices I think are because of the Market Movers app they use. The prices seemed to be right along with what they sell online so I like that because most dealers mark them up from my experience.
Sorry I did a quick stroll through it all and didn’t show too much detail. I was just trying to show the shop and a few examples of what they have.
Thanks for watching and commenting as always, Mark!
