    Amazing camera work… that bow mount is innovative Chris… shots like we have never seen before… EXCELLENT… boat looks awesome 👍👍

    There is almost no water spraying out from under the sides of the boat telling me that it is indeed an efficient design that prevents water from uselessly escaping and thus forces it to run all the way aft and lift the hull. Many people don't realize it but this is one of the reasons Hickman Sea Sleds were more efficient than even step hydroplanes. VERY few designers get this,
    But the one view at the 5:11 mark to the 15:19 mark show the outboard motor's cavitation plate seems to be rather uselessly above the main surface of the water exiting the transom.

      The cavitation plate with the extra drag plate attached to it is just for planning out the boat. This lower unit has a low water pickup on it so the motor is raised high. The center point of the prop shaft of the lower unit is a 1/2 inch above the bottom of the pad on the hull. Frees up the surface running prop with less lower unit drag and allows the motor to reach higher RPM.
