    A few things:
    The Dragon Trail was a hard level, only 8% players managed a gold.
    This current one is do-able even on AT. I'm sitting at a pretty low 1:06, with 0.2 sec of breathing space. Let's hope this is enough.
    Finally, must go back to the Nurburgring, but it is much harder on FF cars actually...

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 10 měsíci

      Only 8% gold at Dragon Trail is quite surprising as it’s only really the chicane of death which is a real killer there.
      Well done on your time at Road Atlanta. It’s just a straightforward blast but still not easy by any stretch.
      The Nordschleife is certainly a good test especially to get below the certificate lap time. 1 bad corner out of 150 and the lap is toast. Certainly a good grind but I was glad to be done with it fairly quickly.
      Good luck with it mate 👍🏼

      @@PM10Racing What I gradually realized is that even if one would make the effort to look for a TT or CE guide on YT, it doesn't mean they can learn all the necessary details in racing. This is why I struggled at Nurburgring but you made it look so much easier. I noticed that even at my best, my sector time would consistently be 0.5 to 1 sec behind yours, and once put together, there's about 8-10 secs to shave, and the hardest thing is not that I drove in a wrong line, but that I simply couldn't drive as fast - it could just be me not as sensitive in my braking and acceleration timing or the finess of control that made the difference, and this kind of things really couldn't be resolved just by watching some videos.
      The other thing many people may miss is that, like you said in the Dragon Trail video comments, there actually are several more spots other than the death chicane that we could make time from, and I actually improved my time having taken your advice and eventually kept the gold time when the leader time improved just in the last day or two. I think most people just overlooked that, like I did initially. The track may look simple, but when you need to push, even an oval track could post a challenge.
      One other thing was that for these TT with options of car in a same group, sometimes the best car for me may not be the best car for the players showing their plays on YT. For instance, I used the Ford GT Spec II for the Fuji Speedway, the Nissan GTR for the recent Gr. 3 cars challenge when most people are using the Supra and also the R92C at Le Mans when most are setting their best time with the Sauber. It really made me wonder what may have been if I used the Nissan GTR for the Nurburgring 24H TT several months back. In short, there's just that much a video can show, or for someone to teach and the rest needs to be worked out by practice and time...

      @PM10Racing  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@stormmeansnowork congratulations on your gold time at Dragon Trail it certainly it wasn’t easy.
      I couldn’t put it better myself. Track guides are merely a “guide” in the loosest possible term. Although they are useful if you need to find some time, we all drive in very different ways. No 2 styles are the same.
      We all brake slightly differently, turn differently and apply throttle differently so the lap guides are certainly not a 1 size fits all.
      However the lap guides do show what can be achieved so it’s something to potentially aim for.
      The Nordshleife is tricky as you have to dance with the car on the edge of losing the back end as when you excessively slide that Honda you lose so much time and momentum.
      That control can come down to sensitivity on the controls and having a delicate touch.
      There are also sound driving principles which Gran Turismo simulates very well (like trail braking, weight transfer, correct throttle application etc) and to master these skills takes lots of time and proper dedicated practice and drills to work on each skill individually on their own. Then you bring all those little skill improvements together to eventually lap the track faster.
      Like you say, lap guides are great as a starting point for finding time but you still have to develop the skills to unlock that pace.
      Unfortunately that only comes with dedicated practice, coaching and seat time.
      I used to stick to my favourite cars all the time but I found that having to drive some of these obscure and exotic cars (like the Aston DB5, Chevy Corvette, Maserati MC20) helped to develop and test the skills I’m trying to integrate into my driving.
      Finding a way to drive these non GT cars by adjusting your inputs is a real skill in itself and I think it has made me a better driver overall.
      Never stop learning, practice all the right things and you WILL find speed and time 👍🏼
      Sorry for the long winded answer but I felt your great comment deserved a thorough and detailed response.
      Good luck mate 👍🏼

      @@PM10Racing It's just like learning mathematics, most people can only memorize the formula and apply (and some may not even be able to apply proficiently), only a few could work things out on their own, and even less would find something new.

      @PM10Racing  Před 10 měsíci

    So, a few days later and I'm on 1:06:254... 0.2 should do it... I noticed that I dont have enough hybrid power on the long straight... trying to get there...

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Keep grinding mate I’m sure you will find those couple of tenths.
      One thing I completely forgot to mention in my video was that if you try and go for 2 push laps in a row with the Porsche 919, you run out of hybrid on the back straight of the 2nd lap so I just hit the retry button after every lap to make sure I had a full hybrid available.
      You could spend every other lap manually charging it up but that might be a waste of time.
      Don’t know if you are having this trouble at all? 🤔

    • @Targon999
      @Targon999 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@PM10RacingI noticed that you run out of power so I just start again after every lap. But I guess that was really the problem... now I just need to get corners 2, 3 and 4 right 😂

      @@Targon999 it’s on its last legs going up the back straight on the push lap but just about have enough to finish the lap.
      T2 is a tricky one though as you need to be accelerating as early as possible to take full advantage of the exit. You might need to make sure you brake earlier than you think to get the car slowed down enough to be able to accelerate at the apex. Good luck mate

      @@PM10Racing so its me again 😬 after trying again I noticed that I use way too much hybrid power on the first two corners before the lap starts, the player on the top are like more than a half full and my power is almost empty at the first straight. And after the corner before the last straight Im empty before reaching 250... dont know how to change that though... another silver medal I guess 🤷‍♂️
