- did a live improv jam on The new #arturia #drumbrute #impact. Arturia sent me it a few days ago and i haven't gone super deep into it, but it was easy to work out as there is a lot of function crossovers with the beatstep pro which i know well.
everything was set to 11, especially the built in distortion. The drumbrute impact is going in dry with no effects. so you can make your own minds up, im showcasing what i like about it.

all in all its a pretty nice drum machine. I haven't played on the original drumbrute, so can't comment on a comparison! But this one is very playable. A couple of button things i'd have to get used to. But The built in distortion really makes it for me. it doesn't get quieter or louder when you turn it on in most instances. I was playing it for a good long while enjoying how the distortion was interacting with all the sounds and stuff.
I like the kick, and cymbal and hi hats the most. crunchy........ i even dig the way the metronome sounds, if you noticed i left it on for the whole thing. to add more of a crack on each beat. sometimes the snare gets lost in the distortion, but i didn't mind it, i thought it added to the dynamics.

This is the video that sold me on the impact basically most videos don't do it justice because people don't have tons of knowledge about how to work analog but you're the analog maestro!

Gotta dig that analog distortion action, crazy gritty sonic overdriven break up chopping up the waveforms like some sort of cracked LFO. Fantastic, taking synthesis to a new level of old school electronica meets futuristic.
I decided to buy an DrumBrute Impact after looking also this video, and what should I say. I love it! Also my little daughter (10 years) can work with the machine. Now the problem is, that anytime I'm in the studio she wants to play the Drum Brute....

I know it's years later but, I'd love to see a video where you breakdown how you pulled this off. It's absolutely insane. 8 minutes worth!? It had to take some major planing. If it didn't, I'm even more baffled and would love to know how you've built the skills to improvise it.

Just remember kids your drumbrute won’t sound as good as his. He’s got talent. So many techie snobs slagging off this drum machine but in the right hands it’s a beast. And all this just using a single mono out without additional processing. Nice job.

Just looked on youtube and a whole bunch of Arturia “impact” drumbrute videos have been uploaded at the same time for maximum impact! Lol i hope you got paid.

no one was paid, they just send a few for free to youtubers and also other youtubers where noticed when the new machine will be released so they pre order it, then Arturia send it to them and everyone had the Drumbrute the same day so everyone hurry to do a video with it to be the first ; clever use of a few machines, if you give them away to the right people you don't even need to pay for advertising ;
Well Bobeats mentioned on monday? he had a special video coming up on thursday of a new product. I looked on my youtube feed and several Arturia Impact videos appeared within minutes of each other. Loopop, LMNC, Bobeats... They were obviously made and uploaded earlier with intention of making them public at the same. Creating some kind of "impact" haha. I have no problems with that but it obvious it was part of Arturia's marketing plan and i am guessing you have to pay/give free product/promise priority access to future gear, etc etc to get this kind of cooperation.
DonSimon it’s called “multi-step flow theory” in marketing. This guy in an “influencer” aka “opinion leader.” I know the theories, and still want to buy one. He did a great job of influencing my opinion. 😅

I have a mini brute. It's pretty cool. Very uncontrollable, very limited in its capacity, but a fun toy. Sounds cool through distortion.

I love the way you manage your drum machine. I use an Elektron Digitakt with modular synth and im thinking, if somebody can lend you a Digitakt machine maybe, i'll love seeing this kind of jam with a Digitakt. It will be very inspiring looking how you'll use it.

Dude, you have some serious talent. I like the rawness of your jams... whilst some reviewers do good reviews I have to tolerate somewhat fromagey demos which kind of puts me off what they are demonstrating (even though it shouldn't - but, when the tunes are decent it really helps see the potential there and then).
